The article reviews interdisciplinary problems as a versatile phenomenon. Interdisciplinary is more often understood as interaction between different scientific disciplines, which can range from simple exchange of ideas to organization of joint research activities. Taking into account this understanding of the interdisciplinary phenomenon, the prerequisites for joint scientific activity between library specialists and the medical (biologists) community are considered. An attempt is made to analyze the possibilities of the library scientific community to participate in such studies.  In the practical part, the Russian biomedical publications with the library employees’ participation, presented on the e Library platform, are analyzed: an array of interdisciplinary articles on this subject is revealed, the analysis of the sample by year, participation of authors, libraries, disciplines, scientometric indicators is carried out.  The results made it possible to understand the features of the tasks and the specifics of research strategies. Suggestions on possible trends of interdisciplinary researches development in the libraries of Russia are formulated. Conditions, contributing to increasing the chances of library specialists to be included in interdisciplinary researches are stated based on the Reference and Bibliographic Department of SB RAS experience.  Foreign interdisciplinary publications are considered by referring to reviews on this issue.  The studied articles from authoritative journals on informatics and librarianship testifies to the number growth publications in biomedical disciplines prepared with participation of library specialists. A review publication in the Journal of the Medical Library Association covering interdisciplinary publications with participation of library professionals for 2008 – 2017 served as a model for the analysis. The authors concluded that the main topics of cooperation between librarians and tutors were related to the assessment of medical and social aspects of patients’ health, the search for medical information and clinical decisionmaking.

Theoretical and methodological bases of preparing students for research and teaching activities in a diverse cultural environment): The readiness of university students of pedagogical specialties for research activities are the backbone basis for professional pedagogical activity. This is determined by the complexity and contradictions of modern life, and of the socio-cultural and educational environment. The considerable creativity in a diverse environment is conditioned by a combination of negative factors. The dynamic diversity of the environment and its diverse impact on individual and social groups require a revision of the existing educational technologies, means and forms of teacher education. New systems of teaching students will be effective when they are built on leading theoretical and methodological models of professional activity.

Research activities is common for a lecturer because it is a compoulsary term. Research in English Language or English learning is a scientific activity that aims at investigating the rules that work in the process of English learning. Research activities in English learning cover four steps: observing, describing, analyzing, and explaining. The way of each step is done depends on the nature of the data and the objective of the research. Classroom Action Research (CAR) for English Learning aims at developing a certain instructional strategy to solve practical instructional problems in English classrooms. Each English learner is basically able to learn English provided that he or she is given the appropriate help as each learner has his or her own style and strategy of learning. CAR for English Learning aims at discovering learning-teaching strategies that match learners’ style and strategies in learning English. CAR is done in several cyles each of which is repeated in the following cycle if the result is not satisfactory yet with the better revised lesson plan. Each cycle begins with lesson planning, implementing the plan, observing the implementation, and reflecing or evaluating the process and the result of the implementation. The result of the reflection determines the following cycle.

The article considers the issue of design thinking developing methods in foreign language classes. The study materials are presented by educational and methodological courses for teaching foreign languages, methodical developments for professionally oriented teaching, checklists of students’ educational and scientific activity, the final rating of the educational process of the academic groups participating in the experiment. The methods of observation, questioning and interviewing were used. The experimental results were statistically processed. The authors differentiate between the concepts of "design thinking" and "creative thinking" which are often confused. In this case design thinking is viewed as a higher level of thought process. It was found that the most effective basis for developing students' design thinking skills is the OIW (organized independent work), in particular, project activities. The effectiveness of the methodology for the formation and development of students’ design thinking competence core has been proven experimentally in 2018-2020 academic semesters in the process of full-time and remote working modeat at the Foreign Languages and Humanities Department of the Kamyshin Technological Institute (branch) of the Volgograd State Technical University. The conducted study showed that students participation in the experiment significantly influenced their outlook, quality of intellectual modeling, research activities, subject communication both in their native and foreign languages.
