THE COMPREHENSION OF THE SOCIAL STRATIFICATION AND ITS FORMATION IN LEGAL RELATIONS

Social stratification has played an important role in legal relations since ancient times, because it involved the division of responsibilities between individuals in society. The central concept of the social stratification is a society, whose members interact with each other to ensure their existence. Ensuring the existence involves the division of functions by trying to arrange the social and legal relations, which leads to the process of social group formation and social stratification. Social stratification is also very topical today, because society, despite the equality of people defined in normative acts, is still divided according to different criteria. This work provides insight into concept and historical development of the social stratification, summarizes different ideas and problems about social stratification and its types.

Theatre is one of the oldest forms of art due to its close nature to the life of people. Deriving from the point of epistemology, ontology and didactics, theatre poses its eternality... The most important concepts for the solution of social problems in education are individualization and socialization, individual activity of a personality and the interrelationship in a group, that has always been facilitated by culture, especially theatre performance. By analysing Latvian actors as a separate social group it is possible to trace its development process. The personality of actors in society opens up as its psychological and artistic activity. In order to carry out the analysis of social category, there is a need to analyse actor’s social relations. The activity of actors forms in its social group the cognitive image, that is socially relevant and which affects spectators. Theatre is the environment in which the actor lives and implements his/her social activity. Our theatre in the countryside is one of the strongest cognitive enlighteners, developers, and facilitators. The aim of the article is to provide the analysis of documents that give the insight into theatre companies and the formation of actors as a separate social group. The article also deals with the problems of modern theatre companies, and the ways how theatre companies have been developed. Research methods. Theoretical research methods include monographies, the analysis of research articles, the investigation of archive materials related to actors as a social group.

This article considers the process and results of the formation of the social group made up by the Yedinovertsy priests in the Don and Novocherkassk Diocese. Based on the analysis of the sources, it is shown that 27 Yedinovertsy churches had been established in the territory of the Don Army Land by the 1910s, which resulted from the development of the missionary movement that was expected to prevail over the Old Believers’ schism. It was initiated by hierarchy of the Don region, diocesan missionaries, and some Old Believers who had joined the Russian Church under the Old Believers’ “rules”. A group of priests was formed to provide service in those churches. The priests were familiar with the rites that were forbidden in 1666-1667 and wanted to perform their missionary activities among the Old Believers. At the beginning of the group formation process, in the Yedinovertsy churches, there were only 29 priests and psalm readers, who did not have the required education level. But by 1910, their number had grown up to 55 clergymen. Not only did they know the old rites well enough, which, in some instances, was caused by the fact that they had come to the Russian Church from various schism branches, they were also of the advantageous Cossack origin and had missionary education received from the Don diocesan missionary school specially established for those purposes. Considering how important the Yedinovertsy priests’ service was both for the management of the Diocese and the Don Army, those organizations were the financing sources for the priests, for the churches themselves did not even provide the Yedinovertsy priests and psalm readers with an average income. The integrity of the social group in question was sustained by the fact that priests serving at Yedinovertsy churches seldom moved to serve at Orthodox temples.

This chapter reviews current views of social stratification in Roman Egypt, then discusses the role, nature, and composition of the various social groups attested in the village of Tebtunis. These include the local elite, consisting of some priestly families and landowners of Hellenic descent or with a strong Hellenized background, members of the numerous professional associations involved in various agricultural and non-agricultural activities, the indigenous population, and slaves. Based on their contractual activity and other contemporary evidence, a close-up analysis is provided for each social group. Socio-economic trends emerge which shed light on the behaviour of the various groups and give us deeper insight into the complex realities of the village, including living standards.

Contemporary studies of political power have often been based on the belief that the major determinants in the struggle for power may be ascertained by analyzing the social stratification of a society. This belief is supported by the following series of more or less tacit assumptions: The ideas and actions of men are conditioned by their social and economic position in society. When large number of individuals occupy a comparable social position, they may be expected to think and act alike. They are likely to share social and economic interests which are promoted—in competition or conflict with other social groups—through political organization and interest-representation. Hence, a study of politics should be concerned with the social composition of the members and leaders of different political organizations; this kind of knowledge will provide a clue to the power which such organizations can exert and to the political goals which their leaders are likely to pursue.I wish to examine the relation between stratification and politics in four respects:(1) How did Marx deal with the problem of social stratification and political power?(2) What insight into the relation between stratification and politics can be gained from retrospective investigations?(3) Does a knowledge of social stratification enable us to understand the development of totalitarian movements and their conquest of power?

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to review the emerging literature on formal women-only business networks and outline propositions to develop this under-theorised area of knowledge and stimulate future research. Design/methodology/approach The authors review the existing literature on formal internal and external women-only networks and use the broader social capital and network literature to frame their arguments and develop propositions. Findings Propositions are developed regarding how both internal and external formal women-only business networks can be of value for members, firms/organisations and the wider social group of women in business. Research limitations/implications The authors focus on the distinction between external and internal formal women-only networks while also acknowledging the broader diversity that can characterise such networks. Their review provides the reader with an insight into the state of the art and a set of propositions that present opportunities for future research. Practical implications The paper provides insights into how women in business, organisations and wider society can leverage value from both internal and external formal women-only business networks. Social implications The paper contributes to research showing that the social structure of interactions and context can impact women’s standing in the workplace. Originality/value The paper sheds light on the under-studied and under-theorised phenomenon of formal women-only business networks. Beyond the individual member level, the authors suggest that such networks can be of value for organisations and the wider social group of women in management and leadership positions.

В статье представлена попытка описать историю бытования архаичного вида старинной якутской шубы с точки зрения интерпретации ее функциональной предназначенности и синкретической социальной стратификации. Особую значимость приобретает знаковая функция изображенной на спинке данной шубы вставки в виде раскрытых крыльев птицы, что послужило также мотивационным признаком наименования данного вида верхней одежды как «хотойдоох сон» (шуба с орлом). Реконструкция ее «биографии» базируется на данных ранних и поздних источников и позволяет высказать предположение о существовании такой шубы примерно в конце XVII – в начале XVIII в., выдвигается гипотеза о южном происхождении и обозначены факторы, обусловившие тенденцию постепенной ее модификации в северных условиях. Реализация поставленной цели требует применения комплексного подхода с привлечением данных этнографии, искусствоведения, культурологии, технологии и конструирования одежды, лингвистики, для чего авторами обобщены доступные материалы, посвященные рассмотрению традиционной одежды якутов, в составе которой упоминается и данная шуба. Проанализировав ряд работ по данной тематике можно сделать предварительный вывод о том, что точка зрения авторов публикаций относительно символьной маркировки орнитоморфного изображения строится на мнении о наделенности изображенной на спинке нарядной шубы птицы признаком тотема как родоначальника социальной группы кангаласцев. Однако имеются работы и отдельных авторов, мнения которых можно свести не к отрицанию вышесказанного; они не ставят перед собой задачу толкования потаенного смысла изображенной на спинке шубы вставки, они рассматривают ее, в первую очередь, с точки зрения утилитарной функциональной предназначенности. Внимание авторов данной статьи акцентировано на попытке прочтения информации, заложенной как в наименовании шубы, так и расшифровки условного знака в виде раскрытых крыльев птицы на ее спинке. По мнению авторов, история «хотойдоох сон» таит в себе немало ценного и интересного для тех, кто интересуется историей якутов в целом.The article attempts to describe the history of an archaic look of an old Yakut fur coat in terms of its functional purpose and syncretic social stratification. The bird wings depicted on the back of the fur coat are of particular importance that also serves as a justification for naming this type of outerwear as “hotodooh son” (a fur coat with an eagle). The retrospective is based on data from early and late sources and allows us to express an assumption about the appearance of such a fur coat approximately at the end of the 17th century – the beginning of the 18thcentury. There is a hypothesis about its southern origin, so that we indicate the factors that determined the tendency of its gradual modification in northern conditions. Realization of the task requires the use of an integrated approach involving data from ethnography, art history, cultural studies, technology, and design of clothing, linguistics, for which the authors summarized the available resources studying traditional Yakut clothing, which also includes this coat. After analyzing a number of works on this topic, a preliminary conclusion can be made: the authors of publications believe that the symbolic marking of an ornithomorphic image on a fur coat is a sign of the totem as the ancestor of the social group of kangalans. However, there are some articles that do not set the task of interpreting the hidden meaning depicted on the back of a fur coat - they consider it, first of all, from utilitarian functional purpose. The attention of the authors of this article is focused on an attempt to read the information incorporated both in the name of the fur coat and the symbol in the wings. According to the authors, the story of “hotodooh son” is fraught with many valuable facts for those who are interested in the history of the Yakut people as a whole.

This paper explores the charitable work of Buddhist women who work as petty traders in Hồ Chí Minh City. By focusing on the social interaction between givers and recipients, it examines the traders’ class identity, their perception of social stratification, and their relationship with the state. Charitable work reveals the petty traders’ negotiations with the state and with other social groups to define their moral and social status in Vietnam’s society. These negotiations contribute to their self-identification as a moral social class and to their perception of trade as ethical labor.

Abstract In recent decades, we observe a significant disorganization of family life, especially in the sphere of parental functions performed by unprepared for the role emotional, socially and economically young people. Lack of education, difficulties in finding work, and the lack of prospects for positive change are the main causes of their impoverishment and progressive degradation in the social hierarchy. Reaching young people at risk of social exclusion and provide them with comprehensive care, should be a priority of modern social work and educational work. In order to provide help this social group and cope with the adverse event created a lot of programs to support systemically start in life. An example would be presented in the article KARnet 15+ program as a form of complex activities of a person stimulating subjectivity, and allows you to modify support in individual cases
