Purpose The purpose of this paper is to assess the effect of delaying first pregnancy in reducing burden of unintended pregnancy (UP) among married adolescent girls in urban slums of Bangladesh. Design/methodology/approach This cross-sectional survey was conducted among 783 married adolescents in five urban slums of Bangladesh during January 2013–January 2014. Findings Half of the respondents’ first pregnancy was reported as unintended. Of the respondents, 58 percent with no school education had experienced UP which was 38 percent among respondents with eight year’s education. Respondents who did not willingly agreed to their marriage experienced more UP (61 percent) than those who were agreed/got married by their own choice (51 percent). Respondents having five years of age difference with their husbands experienced more UP (58 percent) than those with ten years of age difference (46 percent). Respondents aged 14 years at first conception experienced 63 percent UP, while the respondents aged 18 years had 35 percent UP experience. Of the respondents, 66 percent who became pregnant within one year of marriage reported their pregnancy as unintended which was 29 percent among those who delayed their first pregnancy for three years. Originality/value Significant association was observed between pregnancy intention with respondents’ educational status (p=0.03), age difference with husbands (p=0.02), age at first conception (p<0.01) and delaying first pregnancy (p<0.001).

Financial distress is defined as a late stage of corporate decline that precedes more cataclysmic events such as bankruptcy or liquidation.  Analysis of  financial ratios  is performed to  determine  the ratio that affect the probability of  financial distress. The method used is the  purposive  sampling  method.  Data analysis techniques logistic regression.  Hypothesis  testing  is  done  in  three  periods,  that  is  the period of  one  year  before the  financial distress  (t-1),  a  two-year period  before  the  financial  distress  (t-2) and a  three-year period  before the financial distress (t-3). Results indicate that  the independent variables  have a partial effect on manufacture company. The period  t-1, ratio TL/TA and  NI/TA  affect  financial  distress.  The  period  t-2,  ratio  NI/EQ affect financial  distress.  The period  t-3, ratio TL/TA and NI/TA affect financial distress.

This study aimed to explore post Covid-19 lockdown students’ satisfaction from some higher education institutions in Ethiopia. The study used descriptive and explanatory research designs. A total of 480 students were taken from twelve public Universities as a sample and 366 valid questionnaires were collected. Convenience and snowball sampling were used to select the employees from each University. Also, cross- sectional survey method was applied to collect data via a Likert scale questionnaire. Correlation and multiple regression modeling were used to predict the relationships. Initially, a pilot test was a sample of 35 students to check data scale reliability. The study found that all the independent variables (crush time, leadership, and students’ initiation, instructors’ commitment) variables had a statistically significant correlation with Students’ satisfaction. Moreover, the study founded that all the studied variables were predictors of students’ satisfaction (R2= 0.672); however, the predictors that had highest influence were instructors’ commitment and crushes time. Significant emphasis and devotion is required particularly on variables such as instructors’ commitment and crush time as they are identified as a significant influencer of students’ satisfaction. Universities shall focus on enhancing instructors’ commitment and they have to allocate adequate time as before COVID -19.
