During the load of vertical static force the strength limit of individual fertilizer particles was studied in relation to the fertilizer moisture content and granulometric composition. The experiment was conducted for the fertilizer damage at the different level of fertilizer moisture content and particle size groups. The result of the first part indicates the need to point out the differences of static strength between prilled and granular fertilizers. Both types of prilled fertilizers reached from 3 to 8 times lower values of static strength than standard granular fertilizers. The theses above point out the need for more caution during manipulation, storage and application of prilled fertilizers, the quality of which may be affected at some point by the greater extent of static load. The second part of the study was focused on the effect of moisture and granulometric fraction of fertilizer on static strength of fertilizer. For all tested fertilizers the statistical difference was observed for both of variation factors. Their mutual ratio of the effect is however different for each individual fertilizer. This fact may be interpreted as the dependence of the quantity of water that the individual fertilizers are able to absorb. This amount was influenced by very different types of fertilizers’ hygroscopicity. The interaction of both factors at the same time was not confirmed for any fertilizer tested.

Research background and hypothesis. Nutrition habits develop with the growth of an individual. During adolescence proper nutrition habits and physical activity are the most important factors infl uencing health. The quality of life is affected by the peculiarities of behavior and lifestyle in adolescence. The aim of our study was to determine nutrition habits of adolescents, and then, to make a comparison of eating patterns by gender and the groups of adolescents in different physical activity groups. Research methods. The study comprised the ninth form students from 16 Kaunas schools (4 gymnasiums, 10 secondary and 2 main schools). The strategy was based on the evaluation of proportions of the different types of schools in Kaunas. The study applied questionnaire survey. Research results. The analysis revealed that 28.5% of middle-school age students did not have breakfast, there were more girls than boys among them. Boys and students with lower physical activity more frequently had hot meals. Adolescents most commonly had meals four times per day without following nutrition regimen. Discussion and conclusions. Boys more frequently had breakfast, however, they chose buns, potato chips, and used more fried food for snacks; the same eating patterns were followed by students with lower physical activity. Girls were more likely to have fruit, green vegetables. In most cases, the selection of meals depended on the individual taste; boys more frequently paid attention to prices and nutrition values. Usually adolescents acquired information about proper nutrition from their parents and the internet; girls – more frequently from magazines and the internet. Keywords: adolescents’ knowledge on healthy nutrition, nutrition habits, physical activity.

The study was concerned to evaluate the effect of table sugar, honey and zero-calorie sugar on the quality of nigella enriched tomato ketchup. Ketchup was prepared by mixing 5, 10 and 15% nigella paste with tomato pulp. The variations in taste, color and texture were analyzed based on the consumers’ acceptability and 5% nigella paste was appropriate for product development. Three different types of sugar source (table sugar/honey/zero-calorie sugar) were used to prepare nigella enriched tomato ketchup. Moisture content and total soluble solids (TSS) were significantly lower in the sample S2 (tomato ketchup prepared with honey) which was 64.00±1.75% and 18.00±1.8%, respectively. Sample S1 (tomato ketchup prepared with table sugar) contained higher moisture content (65.40±1.55%); though it's not significantly different with sample S3 (tomato ketchup prepared with zero-calorie sugar). Sample S3 contained significantly (p<0.05) higher amount of TSS (25±1.6%) than other samples. In case of color analysis, it was observed that L*, a* and b* value reduced for all samples when treated with sodium benzoate but not significantly different. Sensory analysis suggested that sample S1 was suitable for the processing of nigella enriched tomato ketchup.

ABSTRACT: Environmental enrichment is a dynamic process consisting of a set of activities designed to meet the ethological and psychological needs of animals. It stimulates the natural behavior of each animal species improving the well-being of the individual and avoiding the development of stereotyped behaviors. The present study aimed to assess the potential benefits that four different types of environmental enrichment would bring to the quality of life of shelter dogs. Twenty dogs were observed for 6 hours daily for 5 consecutive days in the first week in order to assess and document their behavior patterns in an experimental kennel. Between the second to the fourth week, 3 forms of game and 1 type of food enrichment were used in the first 4 days of each week. On the fifth day of each week, behavioral patterns were recorded and later compiled and analyzed according to the Tukey test. Statistical analysis showed significant differences in behaviors associated with lying down, standing up, and licking. Based on our findings, we concluded that the use of environmental enrichment methods through different types of games and toys in shelters decreased signs of depression and stereotyped behavior of kennelled dogs. Results of the present study showed that these tools may help improve life quality of these animals.

Galantin milkfish is one of the fish diversification products that can be used as a source of nutrition for the community with the specific appearance. To increase the level of product acceptance mainly aroma, liquid smoke is added as a flavoring agent that is safe to consume. This study aimed to determine the effect of the addition of different types of liquid smoke with appropriate concentrations on nutritional profiles (amino acids and fatty acids) and the quality (proximate and hedonic) of galantin milkfish. Experimental design of factorial was used in this research with three different types of liquid smoke, namely redestilation (R), filtration (F), and microencapsulation (M). The concentrations of the three types of liquid smoke usedwere 1% (1), 2% (2), and 3% (3) respectively. The results showed that the influence of the three types of liquid smoke and different concentrations significantly affected the profile of amino acids, fatty acids, moisture content, protein, fat, carbohydrates, energy and hedonic values   of milkfish galantin (p&lt;0.05). The dominant amino acid in the product was  glutamic acid, while the highest EPA and DHA contents were respectively in F1 and M1 treatments. Water content of milk fish galantin was  69.82% -72.75%, protein 14.56% -16.73%, fat 4.03% -6.14%, ash 1.62% -2.84%, carbohydrates 2.86% -3.58%, and energy 111.55-138.90 Kal/100 g. The<br />results of the hedonic analysis showed that all the products produced were favored by the panelists.

Techniques for three-dimensional reconstruction of macromolecular complexes from electron micrographs have been successfully used for many years. These include methods which take advantage of the natural symmetry properties of the structure (for example helical or icosahedral) as well as those that use single axis or other tilting geometries to reconstruct from a set of projection images. These techniques have traditionally relied on a very experienced operator to manually perform the often numerous and time consuming steps required to obtain the final reconstruction. While the guidance and oversight of an experienced and critical operator will always be an essential component of these techniques, recent advances in computer technology, microprocessor controlled microscopes and the availability of high quality CCD cameras have provided the means to automate many of the individual steps.During the acquisition of data automation provides benefits not only in terms of convenience and time saving but also in circumstances where manual procedures limit the quality of the final reconstruction.

This paper argues that the rise of what is commonly termed "personal religion" during the Classic-Hellenistic period is not the result of an inner need or even quality of the self, as often argued by those who see in ancient Greece foreshadowing of Christianity, but rather was the result of social, economic, and political conditions that made it possible for Hellenistic Greeks to redefine the perception of the individual and its relationship to others.

From a phenomenological perspective, the reflective quality of water has a visually dramatic impact, especially when combined with the light of celestial phenomena. However, the possible presence of water as a means for reflecting the sky is often undervalued when interpreting archaeoastronomical sites. From artificial water spaces, such as ditches, huacas and wells to natural ones such as rivers, lakes and puddles, water spaces add a layer of interacting reflections to landscapes. In the cosmological understanding of skyscapes and waterscapes, a cross-cultural metaphorical association between water spaces and the underworld is often revealed. In this research, water-skyscapes are explored through the practice of auto-ethnography and reflexive phenomenology. The mirroring of the sky in water opens up themes such as the continuity, delimitation and manipulation of sky phenomena on land: water spaces act as a continuation of the sky on earth; depending on water spaces’ spatial extension, selected celestial phenomena can be periodically reflected within architectures, so as to make the heavenly dimension easily accessible and a possible object of manipulation. Water-skyscapes appear as specular worlds, where water spaces are assumed to be doorways to the inner reality of the unconscious. The fluid properties of water have the visual effect of dissipating borders, of merging shapes, and, therefore, of dissolving identities; in the inner landscape, this process may represent symbolic death experiences and rituals of initiation, where the annihilation of the individual allows the creative process of a new life cycle. These contextually generalisable results aim to inspire new perspectives on sky-and-water related case studies and give value to the practice of reflexive phenomenology as crucial method of research.
