The article analyzes the current state of the metal processing industry and the secondary raw materials market, considers the problems and identifies prospects for its development. The relevance of the article is due to the rapid development of new information and communication technologies, thanks to which there is a new way to manage the processes of collection and processing of secondary raw materials, which is based on fundamentally different rules than the traditional one. To create conditions, it is advisable to work on improving the reliability and international comparability of data, the development of quality standards of secondary raw materials, the creation of an information platform of common access, which will not only monitor the development of the economic system, but also to share information with all participants in the sector. The results of the study can be used to improve the methodology for the formation of mechanisms for the effective use of secondary raw materials by processing companies.

This paper offers a genealogy of the field of mass media and communication theory and research, with the purpose of distilling a grand narrative of media studies and communication science. Such a ‘story of stories’ is articulated with recurring concerns over the categories and taxonomies of the communication process, the rapid development and penetration of new information and communication technologies, and attempts by scholars around the world to respond to our increasingly complex and convergent media environment. In conclusion, an argument is developed for a vital, creative, and public way forward for the field.

While there is a progressive ageing of the population, we are witnessing a rapid development of new information and communication technologies (ICTs). Although for most of society this technology is within reach, there are population segments for whom access is limited, especially adults who are considered of old age. Due to the relevance that the relationship between ICTs and older adults acquires in today’s society, it is necessary to carry out an analysis of the scientific literature in order to understand the knowledge structure of this field. In this research, a comparative bibliometric analysis of 172 documents published in the Web of Science (WoS) and Scopus databases was carried out until 2018 and is complemented by a co-citation analysis. The results show that this subject is incipient and is in its exponential growth stage, with two thirds of the production concentrated in the 2012–2018 period. Four out of five authors are transient with a single authorship and the collaboration level is high. The most productive country is Germany followed by the United States and Australia.

The article describes the possible dangerous consequences of the introduction of new information and communication technologies, namely the destruction of conventional roles, of shared mental models due to the distortion of information and its context, the destruction of rutin interactions. The rapid development of science and technology in the late twentieth century led to the emergence of new information and communication technologies (ICT). In this regard, change the forms of communication and the relations between economic agents. This is particularly expressed in the change of conventional roles and common mental models. The possible negative consequences of the application of new ICT are discussed in the article, namely the increase in the probability of inaccuracies and errors in communications, the appearance of a gap in the senses or mutual understanding between the sending and receiving parties due to incorrect context transfer. The rapid change in the conditions of communications, its methods, increasing the share of verbal information leads to the destruction of the pre-rational basis of mutual understanding of people, and consequently to the restriction of economic growth according to G.V. Grebennikov. The solution of emerging problems is seen in the preservation of the traditional notion of communications (their goals, tasks, place in the relationship); determine their some necessary number and type. The preservation of common mental models depends on the preservation of their essential part – common values. We see that the Orthodox faith offers a person a higher ideal and values corresponding to him, as well as a way to achieve it, which can be tested by experience.

Today, one of the priorities of international economic development is digitalization. It makes changes in all areas of our life, and the transformation of the economy, based on the drivers of information development, determines the importance of updating the information environ- ment of the new economy, which directly affects accounting. Currently, accounting is in a phase of gradual development and introduction of new technologies. This aspect is particularly important in the context of the rapid development of information and communication technologies and global digitalization, especially when translating accounting into a new information environment, defining its boundaries, conceptual scope, and confirming the self-sufficiency of accounting as a type of socio-economic and management practice. New requirements for employees and their qualifications are also being introduced. The automated form of accounting differs from the manual form in the uniform execution of operations. When a computer processes similar accounting operations, the same commands are used, virtually eliminating the occurrence of random errors, and the potential for control by the management organization is increased. Because computer programs provide the administration with a fairly wide range of tools that allow you to monitor and evaluate the company’s activities. Some mistakes made by the accountant of the manual accounting course are almost inevitable, since it is the human factor that plays a big role in them, but the use of an automated accounting form allows you to recognize and correct these errors in a timely manner.

In recent years, the Middle East’s information and communications landscape has changed dramatically. Increasingly, states, businesses, and citizens are capitalizing on the opportunities offered by new information technologies, the fast pace of digital transformations, and enhanced connectivity. These changes are far from turning Middle Eastern nations into network societies, but their impact is significant. The growing adoption of a wide variety of information technologies and new media platforms in everyday life has given rise to complex dynamics that beg for a better understanding. Digital Middle East sheds a critical light on continuing changes that are closely intertwined with the adoption of information and communication technologies in the MENA region. Drawing on case studies from throughout the Middle East, the contributors explore how these digital transformations are playing out in the social, cultural, political, and economic spheres, exposing the various disjunctions and discordances that have marked the advent of the digital Middle East.

Health tourism is booming all over the world, and thermal spa tourism in Spain is a type of tourism aimed at integrating with nature, achieving sustainable development. In general, its facilities are located in areas specially protected by environmental legislation. This tourism sector attracts an increasingly wide market segment that has become more demanding and better informed and that more frequently uses the Internet to gather information. Tourists’ shopping and consumption habits are increasingly influenced by new information and communication technologies (ICTs), making these a topic of interest among academics and professionals. Website development has been shown to be an area of innovation for spa facilities, but evidence has also been found that this sector has experienced difficulty in adopting ICTs. This research sought to analyse spa websites’ usability by conducting an exploratory investigation of different websites’ contents. The results reveal that the use of new web technologies by spas is underdeveloped, although these facilities have achieved good positions in Internet search engines due to the synergistic effect of the official tourism websites. That is why most of them tell their story, detail their nature and the protection of their spaces. In this way, spas turn their websites into communication channels that convey to tourists their commitment to the environment and sustainable development.
