The study aims to know the Impact of gender on the use of cybercafé. The study focused on the frequency and purpose of using cybercafé by male and female users. It also focused on the problems encountered by male and female users while using Internet at cybercafé. An aggregate of 450 copies of questionnaires were circulated to the cybercafé user, of which 416 properly filled questionnaires were returned. Data was analyzed using SPSS 21.0 version. It was observed that male users had a long history of using cybercafé than female counterparts (p<.000). The data also indicate that there is an association between the frequency of visit to the cybercafé and the gender (p<.000). High cost of Internet services (74.2%), noisy environment in and around the cybercafé (55.76%) and slow Internet connection (49.75%) at cybercafé were major problems faced by the cybercafé users.

Currently, internet services are developing rapidly, and the relationship between specific types of internet services and the well-being of older adults is still unclear. This study took a total of 353 urban older adults aged 60 years and above as research objects to explore the impact of the use behavior toward internet-based medical services (IBMS) on their well-being through an online questionnaire. This study integrated well-being theory and peer support theory, constructed an extended structural equation model of technology acceptance based on the technology acceptance model (TAM), and analyzed the variable path relationship. The results confirm the proposed model: older adults improved their eudaimonic well-being through using IBMS; perceived usefulness significantly affected the older adults’ attitudes towards IBMS; perceived ease of use significantly affected the use of IBMS through mediation; peer support significantly affected older adults’ attitudes, willingness, actual use, and well-being in the process. This study proposes that facilitating IBMS use for older adults in the development and design of internet technology programs should be considered in order to provide them with benefits. Moreover, paying attention to peer support among older adults plays an important role in the acceptance of new technologies and improving their well-being. The “peer support” of this study expanded and contributed to the research on the impact on older adults’ well-being and the construction of a technology acceptance model. The peer support in this study extended the influence factor of eudaimonic well-being and contributed to the further development of the TAM.

The Directorate of Youth and Sports of the Ash-Siddiq Islamic Foundation (YIAS) is located at the Ash-Siddiq mosque complex as a center for Islamic activities for the Muslim community in 3 RW 10, 11 and 13 in Umbansari sub-district, Rumbai district, Pekanbaru City. The problem is the lack of trained human resources for publication activities and the lack of youth activities in mosques. The aim of the program is to increase the participation of environmental youth in positive activities as well as to increase the number of congregations praying 5 times a day among youth as an effort to foster and coordinate activities at the YIAS Youth and Sports Directorate. The method of implementing program activities includes the provision of internet services within the Ash-Siddiq mosque as a means of publicizing activities through social media. Then in addition to video editing workshops as technical skills provision to support the YIAS activity publication program. The program results in the form of the impact of increasing youth participation in religious activities such as congregational prayer in mosques which increased by an average of 174.4%. In addition, the increase in publications on social media Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube to an average of 9.6 posts for each YIAS official account on social media. Then the results of the usability survey analysis of the use of internet services and the use of video streaming equipment to publish directly, the results are 90.9% or 4.54 on a scale of 1-5

The Impact

A variety of studies have focused on the effect of competition in broadband markets on increasing broadband penetration rates. Few studies however have focused on the extent to which competition also results in innovation in the marketplace, as demonstrated by increased broadband speeds, and other improvements that provide value to broadband users. This paper considers the effectiveness of market competition as a means of encouraging broadband providers to offer innovative services that meet citizens’ increasing needs for affordable high quality and high speed broadband connectivity. The study focuses on the provision of broadband services in Canada, a country where consumers were early adopters of broadband and where the policy environment has encouraged competition in the broadband market from its inception. Drawing on data from the OECD and the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC), the paper demonstrates that Canada’s regulatory regime does not appear to be sufficient to enable a competitive marketplace that results in the provision of innovative broadband services.
