The hierarchical Detailed Value Chain Model and the Elementary Management Cycle model of educational domain knowledge content updating are formally described in this paper, wherein computerized process measures are also proposed. The paper provides a method for updating the knowledge of the analyzed domain, referred to as the “enterprise domain,” based on enterprise modelling in terms of management information interactions. A method was designed, the formal DVCM and EMC descriptions of which are provided in the BPMN notation, allowing to develop a two-level (granular) model for describing the knowledge of educational domain management information interactions. In implementing this model and its algorithms in technological terms, a subsystem of enterprise knowledge has been created in a knowledge-based CASE system (computerized knowledge-based IS engineering), which performs the function of a domain knowledge database.

The paper presents the Knowledge‐based Enterprise framework aimed for the analysis of knowledge management and development of an Enterprise knowledge base. The approaches concerning the modelling of enterprise domains and aspects are presented and used for the development of the concept of Enterprise Knowledge Component. The Enterprise knowledge component (B, T, K) is defined as a composition of 3 obligatory parts: knowledge management methods (K), the knowledge about IT (T) services and tools, and business management knowledge (B). The formal modelling structure – the Enterprise Knowledge Space (B, T, K) is constructed for the refinement of the hierarchy of enterprise knowledge items. The Knowledge‐based Enterprise framework is represented as modified Value Chain Model including the knowledge management layer and IT component. The major knowledge subsets of the enterprise knowledge base are identified. Santrauka Pateiktas apibendrintas žiniomis grįstos veiklos modelis, skirtas žinių valdymui analizuoti ir kurti organizacijos (veiklos) žinių bazę. Aptarti veiklos domenų ir aspektų modeliavimo būdai, remiantis šia analize suformuluotas veiklos žinių komponento konceptas. Veiklos žinių komponentas (B, T, K) yra apibrėžtas kaip būtina trijų dalių visuma: žinių valdymo metodai (K), žinios apie IT paslaugas ir priemones (T) bei veiklos valdymo žinios (B). Sudaryta formali modeliavimo konstrukcija – organizacijos (veiklos) žinių erdvė (B, T, K), kuri atskleidžia veiklos žinių elementus. Apibendrintas žiniomis grįstos veiklos modelis pavaizduotas remiantis modifikuotos vertės grandinės modeliu, papildytu žinių valdymo sluoksniu ir IT komponentu. Identifikuoti pagrindiniai veiklos žinių bazės žinių poaibiai.

Straipsnyje aptartas požiūris į studijų proceso valdymo formavimą remiantis probleminės srities modeliu. Praktiniu modeliavimo metodo pagrindu parinktas M. Porterio vertės grandinės modelis (VGM). Pateiktas apibendrintas žiniomis grįstos veiklos modelis, skirtas studijų procesui valdyti. Struktūruotame VGM bet kuri veiklos valdymo funkcijos Fi ir veiklos proceso Pj pora (Fi x Pj) sumodeliuota kaip valdomas (veiklos) procesas, nes veiklos valdymo funkcija Fi siekia realizuoti konkrečius veiklos tikslus, nukreipdama (kontroliuodama) veiklos procesą Pj. Studijų proceso valdymo modelis (valdymo požiūriu) susideda iš trijų pagrindinių komponentų, susietų informaciniu grįžtamuoju ryšiu: valdančiosios sistemos, veiklos tikslų ir valdomojo objekto. Straipsnyje patikslinta valdomo proceso principinė schema (formalizuota elementaraus valdymo ciklo struktūra), įvardytas veiklos tikslų (G) poveikis valdančiajai sistemai (VS) ir valdomajam objektui (VO) informacijos transformacijos grįžtamojo ryšiokontūre. Taip pat pateikti iš VGM gauti studijų proceso parametrai: studijų proceso valdymo informacijos transformavimo žingsniai (valdymo taisyklės) ir atributai (duomenys).Study Process Management Based on the Modified Value Chain ModelJurij Tekutov, Saulius Gudas, Vitalijus Denisovas SummaryThe paper deals with the problem of studying the process management related to a particular problem. The presented approach uses the modified value chain model (VCM) to describe the formation procedure of the problem domain knowledge. The major components of the modified VCM (domain knowledge) are management functions and information flows related by the control loop to the processes in the problem domain. The formal description of information transformations of a particular management function is defined as the elementary management cycle (EMC). The concept of EMC is a formalized description of the enterprise management control as the interaction between the function and process, i.e. as two core components of enterprise from the control point of view. The modified VCM-based framework for the management of the study process has been developed and discussed.>

This world is constantly changing and rapidly moving,-particular in the Industry 4.0 revolution, people must change to follow and keeping with this new trend. Education is the human foundation toward the “Truth - Good - Beautiful”, and comprehensive development of personal competencies as knowledge, skills and behaviors. A nation, such as Vietnam, if they want to integrate into global economy and affirming their position, they will need the “Talented - Virtuous” human resource who could meet the high demand of society. The purpose of this study was to propose a model of competency value chain at individual level for the educational managers, analyzing some factors of this value chain model and how to apply to Vietnamese education system in the fourth Industry era. The authors wanted to focus on the social value added that the educational managers’competency could bring as the result of this research.

Abstract Configuration is a process of generating a definitive description of a product or an order that satisfies a set of specified requirements and known constraints. Knowledge-based technology is an enabling factor in automation of configuration tasks found in the business operation. In this paper, we describe a configuration technique that is well suited for configuring “decomposable” artifacts with reasonably well defined structure and constraints. This technique may be classified as a member of a general class of decompositional approaches to configuration. The domain knowledge is structured as a general model of the artifact, an and-or hierarchy of the artifact’s elements, features, and characteristics. The model includes constraints and local specialists which are attached to the elements of the and-or-tree. Given the specific configuration requirements, the problem solving engine searches for a solution, a subtree, that satisfies the requirements and the applicable constraints. We describe an application of this approach that performs configuration and design of an automotive component.

Purpose This paper aims to examine the effect of domain knowledge on eye-tracking measures and predict readers’ domain knowledge from these measures in a navigational table of contents (N-TOC) system. Design/methodology/approach A controlled experiment of three reading tasks was conducted in an N-TOC system for 24 postgraduates of Wuhan University. Data including fixation duration, fixation count and inter-scanning transitions were collected and calculated. Participants’ domain knowledge was measured by pre-experiment questionnaires. Logistic regression analysis was leveraged to build the prediction model and the model’s performance was evaluated based on baseline model. Findings The results showed that novices spent significantly more time in fixating on text area than experts, because of the difficulty of understanding the information of text area. Total fixation duration on text area (TFD_T) was a significantly negative predictor of domain knowledge. The prediction performance of logistic regression model using eye-tracking measures was better than baseline model, with the accuracy, precision and F(β = 1) scores to be 0.71, 0.86, 0.79. Originality/value Little research has been reported in literature on investigation of domain knowledge effect on eye-tracking measures during reading and prediction of domain knowledge based on eye-tracking measures. Most studies focus on multimedia learning. With respect to the prediction of domain knowledge, only some studies are found in the field of information search. This paper makes a good contribution to the literature on the effect of domain knowledge on eye-tracking measures during N-TOC reading and predicting domain knowledge.
