Background: The new science which examines the life in energy and frequency by quantum life science is noticed. Mattresses of various concepts are used on beds which are always installed in hospitals and facilities. It has been reported that human beings constantly roll over and vibrate in minute detail against the gravity, even at night, and it can be said that motion dynamics are necessary life activity as long as human beings live as living organisms. Therefore, it may be important as life observation to analyze not only physical aspects such as the body, bed and mattress, but also physical aspects such as kinematic and dynamic energy, force, speed and time, when examining human health and the medical treatment environment for life. However, few studies have examined the kinematic effects and differences of mattresses. The quality of a mattress affects the health of the patient or user using it in the short and long term. The choice of mattress and its cost are also important factors in hospital and facility management. In this study, we examined the differences of movement frequencies that human produce on the different mattresses.Methods: Healthy volunteers were recruited by a snowball sampling. The movement from the supine position to the sitting position on Air-based Mattress, Middle Hardees Urethane Mattress, and High hardness Urethane Mattress were repeated for three times. The three procedure was analyzed with a 12 segments model using a 3D motion analysis Move Tr 3D (Library©) under the 4 CCD cameras. The analysis of the velocity and acceleration data were performed by Fourier Transform (IDL). The sensory test for sleeping comfort revised was investigated after the third time. The mathematical expressions to be physically examined from the data of this study were also examined.Results: Five healthy volunteers (Medium age 31 years, Female) who received written consent to the study were investigated. Air mattress took longer time to be head up than both urethane mattresses. The velocity changes of both Medium Hardness and High Hardness Urethan mattresses were similar. Air mattress had a high frequency in the vicinity around 3 sec after the movement beginning. There was no difference in the frequency of the head acceleration between two mattresses and the high frequency was strong until coming to the head up.Conclusion: The difference in the human kinetic frequency using Fourier Transform suggests that there is a difference in the frequency produced by humans moving on different mattresses.

Background: There are few biomechanical studies on the physical transfer of a person lying on a floor or bed perpendicular to the direction of gravity. Basic biomechanics research can be an important source. This study aimed to analyze the biomechanical properties of the upward movement of the floor in the supine position. Methods: Healthy volunteers were recruited by snowball sampling. The movement from the supine position to upward movement on the carpet floor was repeated three times. The three procedures were analyzed with an 11 segments model using a 3D motion analysis Move Tr 3D (Library©) under the 4 CCD cameras. The analysis of the motion trace was examined. The movement of the reflection marker with respect to the Z-axis was analyzed with the vertical direction of the gravity as the Z-axis. It was observed from the XY plane, XZ plane, ZY plane, and how many dimensions the reflection marker took was analyzed. Results: Five healthy volunteers (Medium age 27 years, Female) who received written consent to the study were investigated. A spiral motion was observed in the trajectory of all reflection markers. A walking motion was observed in which the right and left sides of the body alternately swam to the back. Each reflex marker body site was moving headward as if contacting the floor with either the left or right side having 0 to the vertical Z-axis of gravity; the opposite left or right side walked with repeated movements floating from the floor and raising the Z coordinate. 3D Space + 1D time were observed in the human fundamental upward movement. Conclusion: The Human Fundamental Upward Movement on the floor was observed Spiral Trajectory and the Walking of 3D+1D Space and Time. The Ikhwān al-Ṣafāʾ’s animal epistle is an intriguing work. Although in the body of the narrative the authors challenge anthropocentric preconceptions and present nonhuman animals in a more favourable light than human beings, inexplicably, the narrative ends by reconfirming the privileged status of humans. The aim of this paper is to propose an explanation for this discrepancy. I argue that the egalitarian message reflected in the body of the narrative is traceable back to the Qur'an, the main text with which the authors engage in the fable, whereas the final outcome is due to the Ikhwān's hierarchical worldview.

Gastric ulcers or the peptic ulcer is the primary disease that affects the gastrointestinal system. A large extent of the population in the world are suffering from the disease, and the age group of people those who suffer from ulcers are 20-55years. Herbs are known to the human beings that are useful in the treatment of diseases, and there are a lot of scientific investigations that prove the pharmacological activity of herbal drugs. Practitioners have been using the herbal material to treat the ulcers successfully, and the same had been reported scientifically. Numerous publications have been made that proves the antiulcer activity of the plants around the world. The tablets were investigated for the antiulcer activity in two doses 200 and 400mg/kg in albino Wistar rats in the artificial ulcer those are induced by the ethanol. The prepared tablets showed a better activity compared to the standard synthetic drug and the marketed ayurvedic formulation. The tablets showed a dose-dependent activity in ulcer prevention and treatment. Many synthetic drugs are available for the ulcer treatment, and the drugs pose the other problems in the body by showing the side effects and some other reactions. This limits the use of synthetic drugs to treat ulcers effectively. Herbs are known to the human beings that are useful in the treatment of diseases, and there are a lot of scientific investigations that prove the pharmacological activity of herbal drugs.

Transhumanism is one of the main “ideologies of the future” that has emerged in recent decades. Its program for the enhancement of the human species during this century pursues the ultimate goal of immortality, through the creation of human brain emulations. Therefore, transhumanism offers its fol- lowers an explicit eschatology, a vision of the ultimate future of our civilization that in some cases coincides with the ultimate future of the universe, as in Frank Tipler’s Omega Point theory. The essay aims to analyze the points of comparison and opposition between transhumanist and Christian eschatologies, in particular considering the “incarnationist” view of Parousia. After an introduction concern- ing the problems posed by new scientific and cosmological theories to traditional Christian eschatology, causing the debate between “incarnationists” and “escha- tologists,” the article analyzes the transhumanist idea of mind-uploading through the possibility of making emulations of the human brain and perfect simulations of the reality we live in. In the last section the problems raised by these theories are analyzed from the point of Christian theology, in particular the proposal of a transhuman species through the emulation of the body and mind of human beings. The possibility of a transhumanist eschatology in line with the incarnationist view of Parousia is refused.

Background: Ascorbic acid is a classic dietary antioxidant which plays an important role in the body of human beings. It is commonly found in various foods as well as taken as dietary supplement. Objective: The plasma ascorbic acid concentration may range from low, as in chronic or acute oxidative stress to high if delivered intravenously during cancer treatment. Sheep alpha-2- macroglobulin (α2M), a human α2M homologue is a large tetrameric glycoprotein of 630 kDa with antiproteinase activity, found in sheep’s blood. Methods: In the present study, the interaction of ascorbic acid with alpha-2-macroglobulin was explored in the presence of visible light by utilizing various spectroscopic techniques and isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC). Results: UV-vis and fluorescence spectroscopy suggests the formation of a complex between ascorbic acid and α2M apparent by increased absorbance and decreased fluorescence. Secondary structural changes in the α2M were investigated by CD and FT-IR spectroscopy. Our findings suggest the induction of subtle conformational changes in α2M induced by ascorbic acid. Thermodynamics signatures of ascorbic acid and α2M interaction indicate that the binding is an enthalpy-driven process. Conclusion: It is possible that ascorbic acid binds and compromises antiproteinase activity of α2M by inducing changes in the secondary structure of the protein.

We have developed a technique for estimating vibrations of an automotive body structures with viscoelastic damping materials using large-scale finite element (FE) model, which will enable us to grasp and to reduce high-frequency road noise(200~500Hz). In the new technique, first order solutions for modal loss factors are derived applying asymptotic method. This method saves calculation time to estimate modal damping as a practical tool in the design stages of the body structures. Frequency responses were calculated using this technique and the results almost agreed with the test results. This technique can show the effect of the viscoelastic damping materials on the automotive body panels, and it enables the more efficient layout of the viscoelastic damping materials. Further, we clarified damping properties of the automotive body structures under coupled vibration between frames and panels with the viscoelastic damping materials.

AbstractPrevious studies have demonstrated that betaine supplements increase lean body mass in livestock and improve muscle performance in human beings, but evidence for its effect on human lean mass is limited. Our study assessed the association of circulating betaine with lean mass and its composition in Chinese adults. A community-based study was conducted on 1996 Guangzhou residents (weight/mass: 1381/615) aged 50–75 years between 2008 and 2010. An interviewer-administered questionnaire was used to collect general baseline information. Fasting serum betaine was assessed using HPLC-MS. A total of 1590 participants completed the body composition analysis performed using dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry during a mean of 3·2 years of follow-up. After adjustment for age, regression analyses demonstrated a positive association of serum betaine with percentage of lean mass (LM%) of the entire body, trunk and limbs in men (all P<0·05) and LM% of the trunk in women (P=0·016). Each sd increase in serum betaine was associated with increases in LM% of 0·609 (whole body), 0·811 (trunk), 0·422 (limbs), 0·632 (arms) and 0·346 (legs) in men and 0·350 (trunk) in women. Multiple logistic regression analysis revealed that the prevalence of lower LM% decreased by 17 % (whole body) and 14 % (trunk) in women and 23 % (whole body), 28 % (trunk), 22 % (arms) and 26 % (percentage skeletal muscle index) in men with each sd increment in serum betaine. Elevated circulating betaine was associated with a higher LM% and lower prevalence of lower LM% in middle-aged and elderly Chinese adults, particularly men.

abstract A model for the far-field acceleration radiated by an incoherent rupture is constructed by combining Madariaga's (1977) theory for the high-frequency radiation from crack models of faulting with a simple statistical source model. By extending Madariaga's results to acceleration pulses with finite durations, the peak acceleration of a pulse radiated by a single stop or start of a crack tip is shown to depend on the dynamic stress drop of the subevent, the total change in rupture velocity, and the ratio of the subevent radius to the acceleration pulse width. An incoherent rupture is approximated by a sample from a self-similar distribution of coherent subevents. Assuming the subevents fit together without overlapping, the high-frequency level of the acceleration spectra depends linearly on the rms dynamic stress drop, the average change in rupture velocity, and the square root of the overall rupture area. The high-frequency level is independent, to first order, of the rupture complexity. Following Hanks (1979), simple approximations are derived for the relation between the rms dynamic stress drop and the rms acceleration, averaged over the pulse duration. This relation necessarily depends on the shape of the body-wave spectra. The body waves radiated by 10 small earthquakes near Monticello Dam, South Carolina, are analyzed to test these results. The average change of rupture velocity of Δv = 0.8β associated with the radiation of the acceleration pulses is estimated by comparing the rms acceleration contained in the P waves to that in the S waves. The rms dynamic stress drops of the 10 events, estimated from the rms accelerations, range from 0.4 to 1.9 bars and are strongly correlated with estimates of the apparent stress.
