Abstract In the present paper, we introduce a new sequence of linear positive operators based on (p, q)-integers. To approximate functions over unbounded intervals, we introduce Baskakov-Durrmeyer type operators using the (p, q)-Gamma function. We investigate rate of convergence of new operators in terms of modulus of continuities and obtain their approximation behavior for the functions belonging to Lipschitz class. At the end, we present a modification of new operators preserving the test function x.

The main object of this paper is to define the q -Laguerre type positive linear operators and investigate the approximation properties of these operators. The rate of convegence of these operators are studied by using the modulus of continuity, Peetre’s K -functional and Lipschitz class functional. The estimation to the difference | Mn +1, q ( ƒ ; χ )− Mn , q ( ƒ ; χ )| is also obtained for the Meyer-König and Zeller operators based on the q -integers [2]. Finally, the r -th order generalization of the q -Laguerre type operators are defined and their approximation properties and the rate of convergence of this r -th order generalization are also examined.

In the year 2003, Srivastava–Gupta proposed a general family of linear positive operators, having some well-known operators as special cases. They investigated and established the rate of convergence of these operators for bounded variations. In the last decade for modified form of Srivastava–Gupta operators, several other generalizations also have been discussed. In this paper, we discuss the generalized modified Srivastava–Gupta operators considered in [H. M. Srivastava and V. Gupta, A certain family of summation-integral type operators, Math. Comput. Modelling 37(12–13) (2003) 1307–1315], by using iterative combinations in ordinary and simultaneous approximation. We may have better approximation in higher order of modulus of continuity for these operators.

The paper centers around a pair of sequences of linear positive operators. The former has the degree of exactness one and the latter has its degree of exactness null, but, as a novelty, it reproduces the third test function of Korovkin theorem. Quantitative estimates of the rate of convergence are given in different function spaces traveling from classical approximation to approximation in abstract spaces. Particular classes are also studied.

In the present paper we define a general class Bn,a, a =1, of Durrmeyer-Bézier type of linear positive operators. Our main aim is to estimate the rate of pointwise convergence for functions f at those points x at which the one-sided limits f(x+) and f(x-) exist. As regards these functions defined on an interval J certain conditions are required. We discuss two distinct cases: Int (J)=(0,8) and Int (J)=(0,1).

AbstractApproximation using linear positive operators is a well-studied research area. Many operators and their generalizations are investigated for their better approximation properties. In the present paper, we construct and investigate a variant of modified (p,q)-Baskakov operators, which reproduce the test function x^{2}. We have determined the order of approximation of the operators via K-functional and second order, the usual modulus of continuity, weighted and statistical approximation properties. In the end, some graphical results which depict the comparison with (p,q)-Baskakov operators are explained and a Voronovskaja type result is obtained.

In this paper we studyI-approximation properties of certain class of linear positive operators. The two main tools used in this paper areI-convergence and Ditzian-Totik modulus of smoothness. Furthermore, we defineq-Lupaş-Durrmeyer operators and give local and global approximation results for such operators.

We introduce a new sequence of linear positive operatorsBn,α(f,x), which is the Bezier variant of the well-known Baskakov Beta operators and estimate the rate of convergence ofBn,α(f,x)for functions of bounded variation. We also propose an open problem for the readers.

Using the method of Jakimovski and Leviatan from their work in 1969, we construct a general class of linear positive operators. We study the convergence, the evaluation for the rate of convergence in terms of the first modulus of smoothness and we give a Voronovskaja-type theorem for these operators.

In this article, we introduce a new Durrmeyer-type generalization of p , q -Szász-Mirakjan operators using the p , q -gamma function of the second kind. The moments and central moments are obtained. Then, the Voronovskaja-type asymptotic formula is investigated and point-wise estimates of these operators are studied. Also, some local approximation properties of these operators are investigated by means of modulus of continuity and Peetre K -functional. Finally, the rate of convergence and weighted approximation of these operators are presented.
