The article discusses how to test the functionality of air insulations designed for the floor ventilation in historic buildings and follows on from the previously published articles. A flow analysis is being performed on an object of the City of Zirovnice which has been registered in the list of cultural monuments and was built as a brewery in the years 1589-1592 on the site of an older medieval building. The foundations and external brickwork consist mostly of stone. This article brings new air flow readings. The aim of the article is to analyse in detail the air flow in a specific floor void with the aid of modern CFD programs and experimental measurements using the ALMEMO device.

This research produced an Palembang Exlore application which is an application for tourism promotion in Palembang City. Tourism here is not only historical sites, but also can be other tours, including historical or famous places / buildings in a city, where you can buy souvenirs or souvenirs, where to buy special foods from a region or culinary, and so on. This application is useful for tourists, both domestic and foreign who will visit the city of Palembang. So that tourists are expected to know all the tourist attractions that can be visited, ranging from tourist places or historic buildings to culinary tours of the city of Palembang. The method used in making this application or software uses the Extreme Programming method which consists of several stages, namely planning, design, coding and testing. The application is made using HTML 5 programming language. This application is used through the Android operating system

At the time of changing economic circumstances, adaptation and conversion of historic structures is an increasingly popular approach. Some historical buildings are very suitable for the revitalization into the modern hotels. The paper analyzes the relationship of the hotel, the city and its architectural heritage, as well as some of the factors that led to the eruption of alternative models of hotels, shown through a series of successful solutions. Many challenges of hotel design in historic buildings are listed and corresponding solutions are offered. Some methodological directions are indicated, and certain guidelines and principles for further activities in this field are formulated. In conclusion their applicability in practice is discussed, and certain disadvantages and limitations are listed.

The purpose of the research is to present guidelines and recommendations that can contribute to the post-war recovery of urban cultural heritage by a proposed methodology, based on other experiences in the reconstruction and preservation field of historical areas after wars, with the possibility of applying them, as an attempt to regain the features of the old part of the city. We also suggest those suggestions and guidance on three different levels. These guidelines are applicable at three levels: the historic core of the city, neighbourhood level, and individual quarters level. Each level had a specific theme for reconstruction planning that can maintain the city’s particular character during the current circumstances. Many cities have been heavily damaged as a result of the armed conflict in Syria, destroying most of the city’s neighbourhoods, including the historic district. Hence, we present a study of the consequences of this destruction on the historic fabric of the city, and search for the best solutions to give it the needed protection. Finally, the results and recommendations of this research will lead to developing answers to deal with historic centres and historic buildings that have been damaged by the armed conflict and were neglected before the war. The goal of this research is to identify fundamental principles that can lead to a successful reconstruction process while also preserving the city’s cultural identity.

Bandung is one of the historical cities in Indonesia. Therefore, there are many historic heritage buildings adorning the city. According to local regulations, there are at least around 1700 cultural heritage buildings in the city of Bandung. The effort to preserve historic buildings has been carried out by the Bandung city government to maintain the historical value that exists in each building and its area. Along with the changing times, changes or shifts in the environment often occur in historic areas including social, cultural and economic. This has an effect on the complexity of preserving historic buildings, especially those included in class A cultural heritage buildings. One area that has a high historical value is Jalan Braga. Along the Braga street there are many classes A cultural heritage buildings, one of which is the Insulinde Building. The Insulinde building was built in 1917 as an oil factory office. During its establishment, the Insulinde building has changed functions 6 times. Its location in the Braga area makes adjustments to the building to the area need to be considered to see changes in the environment that occurs from year to year. This research uses qualitative methods by collecting data through literature studies and field observations. From the implementation of this research, it is expected to be able to contribute to the preservation of historic areas through its buildings as well as the adjustment of building functions seen from the shifting environment of the region.

<p>In 2010 Neil Challenger, Head of the School of Landscape Architecture at Lincoln University, stated that the malls surrounding Christchurch drove the life out of the inner city of Christchurch. His economic and sociological concerns were expressed even before the earthquake occurred, and this forms the current hesitation on the rebuilding of Christchurch’s inner city.  The position of this research proposal is to establish whether an urban architectural intervention can address these economic and sociological concerns and the potentially devastating effects the suburban mall has had on urban life within Christchurch.  The thesis specifically asks whether establishing a mall typology as a landmark building within the inner city can strategically engage the damaged historic buildings of post-earthquake Christchurch in ways that actively preserve these historic remnants.  The main intention of this research is to engage the damaged historic buildings of post-earthquake Christchurch in ways that actively preserve these remnants and are also economically viable. By preserving the remnants as active, working elements of the urban fabric, they act as historic reminders or memorials of the event and associated loss, while also actively participating in the regrowth of the city. The thesis argues that contemporary architecture can play a strategic role in these imperatives.  Overall this research argues that there exists a distinct requirement for large-scale retail in the inner city urban environment that recognises and responds to the damaged cultural and historic architecture of inner city Christchurch. The objective of the thesis is to propose means to rejuvenate not only the economic vitality of central Christchurch,but also its historic character.</p>

<p><em> </em><em>LAWANG SEWU IN GEOMETRY VIEW. Mathematics and culture are two things closely related. But sometimes mathematics is seen as something that is not connected to everyday life. Infactthe environment can be a source of mathematical problems in real life. The environment is one of culture, one of which includes historic buildings. Mathematics in culture is referred to by the term ethnomatematics. Lawang Sewu is one of the historical buildings located in the city of Semarang. The purpose of this research is to know the geometry structure of Lawang SEWU building. This building can be used as a research object with qualitative descriptive method, with data collection using direct observation on research object, interview with speaker, and using library study related to research This. Through research that the authors have done, it can be concluded that Lawang SEWU building has a geometry structure of space, namely cube, beam, Limas, and Octagonal prism.</em></p>

Service-learning is a form of experiential learning that integrates curriculum objectives to address needs in the community. It also provides students with an opportunity to apply geospatial technology concepts in a real-world setting. This paper describes a service-learning project requiring students to create an interactive Google Map depicting historic buildings and artwork for the City of Wayne, Nebraska. Students create maps by using handheld GPS receivers and editing HTML and JavaScript. The objectives of this project align with several building blocks and critical work functions in the Geospatial Technology Competency Model (GTCM). This model, developed in 2010 by the U.S. Department of Labor, attempts to identify the knowledge and abilities needed in the geospatial industry workforce. In addition the methods, assessment, and challenges for developing and executing this project are described.

The city of Lima, the capital of Peru, was founded on January 18, 1535, and played a leading role in the history of the Americas from 1542, when king Carlos V established the vice royalty of Peru, until the middle of the 18th century. In 1988, UNESCO declared the historic center of Lima a World Heritage Site for its originality and high concentration of historic monuments constructed at the time of the Spanish presence and at the beginning of the Republican era. The architecture of buildings corresponds in general to typical Hispano-American baroque of the 17th and 18th centuries. Since its founding, the city has suffered many earthquakes that have severely and adversely affected historic buildings. Reconstruction work has been done keeping the originality of buildings. This study starts first with a general diagnosis of problems concerning the city and its buildings. A survey for preliminary evaluation of the structural condition of buildings is then planned. This evaluation of the seismic vulnerability of historic buildings at the historic center of Lima represents the basic study that is necessary to initiate detailed investigation for the preservation and conservation of these historic buildings. The study intends to establish a general guideline for vulnerability evaluation of historic buildings that could be applied to the evaluation of other historic cities of Peru.
