Labour legislations provide guidelines to prevent unfair labour practices and organizational injustice. All employment and labour laws propose standards regarding wages, wellbeing, safety, and equitable treatment, which reduces conflicts. However, informational imbalances between employers and employees prevent employees from having adequate knowledge about labour legislation. Consequently, some employers treat employees inconsistently and that could be detrimental to them. A practical solution to this problem is making employees aware of the provisions of labour laws. As an initial step towards this, there is a definite need to assess employees’ awareness regarding labour laws. Nevertheless, there is a lack of a standardized tool to measure the knowledge level of labour legislation, which has impaired empirical examinations. Using randomly collected 346 samples from two different types of industries, the present study constructed and validated a tool to measure labour law knowledge. The study has followed a simple scale development framework consisting of item generation, scale development, and psychometric evaluation. The measurement tool has been developed using exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis. The final questionnaire consists of 17 items under four factors, exhibited significant reliability and validity. The developed tool is expected to fill the gap in the literature and stimulate further empirical research. The study also examined the difference in the knowledge level based on the demographics of the sample. The results show a significant difference between the knowledge levels based on gender, citizenship, type of industry, and qualifications. Future research directions are proposed at the end of the paper, together with the limitations of this study.

The present study aimed to provide a Turkish adaptation of the Organizational Justice in Sport Scale and perform reliability and validity studies. Answers provided by 260 participants who work as football, male basketball and female basketball coaches in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) were analysed using the original scale that comprised 17 items and three dimensions rated on a Likert-type 7-point scale. Subsequently, the opinions of 210 coaches were obtained. Confirmatory factor analysis conducted at the end of the study determined that the standardized regression coefficients vary between 0.45 and 0.92. Model-fit indexes showed that Turkish version of the scale had high construct validity. It was found that the corrected item-total correlation varied between 0.589 and 0.846. Further, it was determined that there were medium-/high-level positive correlations between sub-dimensions. Cronbach’s alpha reliability coefficient was calculated as 0.957. The authors concluded that the Turkish version of the Organizational Justice in Sport Scale was a valid, reliable and convenient measurement tool for determining the level of Organizational justice among the coaches.

Learning programming challenges students who encounter difficulties such as resolving syntax and format errors. These challenges require students to invoke resilience to overcome programming problems and keep trying. In response, this study developed the programming resilience scale for university students (PRSUS). The snowball-sampling method was used to collect the data of science and engineering undergraduates, and the participants were divided into two groups (n1 = 316, n2 = 358) for an exploratory and a confirmatory factor analysis, respectively. For the PRSUS, 3 items were retained for each of 4 dimensions, namely: persistence, perceived value, difficulty cognition, and incremental belief. The reliability and validity indexes indicate the scale is reliable for measuring programming resilience. Moreover, the results showed that most undergraduates had a high level of programming resilience, and they could judge their level correctly in comparison to their peers. The study also found that, although no significant difference was found among the grade or age groups, the programming resilience of the male students was significantly better than that of the female students. The PRSUS is expected to help researchers and teachers to identify students who have difficulties learning programming and to provide early interventions to students. Implications for practice or policy: Students can use the PRSUS to test if they have a high level of programming resilience and improve their programming resilience in a targeted way. Educators can use the PRSUS to identify students who find it difficult to finish programming learning or to judge whether their teaching can make students more willing to overcome programming difficulties.

Purpose The purpose of this study was to evaluate the reliability and validity of the Kannada version of the Consensus Auditory-Perceptual Evaluation of Voice (CAPE-V). Method The Kannada version of CAPE-V comprises six phrases that are phonetically designed as per the CAPE-V requirements. Sixty-five (21 individuals with dysphonia and 44 asymptomatic) participants were enrolled for the instrument psychometric validation. The interrater and intrarater reliability as well as validity were assessed. Results High level of agreement was noted between the three raters across all the CAPE-V parameters, highest for pitch (intraclass correlation coefficient value = .98) and lowest for loudness (intraclass correlation coefficient value = .96). High intrarater reliability agreement (intraclass correlation coefficient value > .97) was also noted for all the parameters. Among the correlation for parameters that are comparable between CAPE-V and the Grade, Roughness, Breathiness, Asthenia, and Strain scale, the highest correlation was noted for overall severity. There was a significant difference noted between the study and control groups for all parameters except loudness. The discriminant function analysis and classification revealed that 98% were correctly identified. Conclusion The Kannada version of CAPE-V has been proven to be a psychometrically reliable and valid tool to use for auditory-perceptual evaluation of voice.
