With education technology pointing to an ever-increasing automation of educational activities, a few enthusiasts go so far as to predict the replacement of teachers by robots. The present paper intends to take such declarations as a provocation, encouraging us to question our understanding of educational practices. That this possibility is even considered says much about how we understand education and effectively educate, greatly instigating our inquiries about that which is ever the subject of education, i.e., the human being. To follow this line of questioning, the exposition will proceed thus: there will firstly be a rough outline of what is a “robot”, and what, if anything, distinguishes it from any other machine, beginning with the origin of the word, in fiction, and with considerations on machinery and automation relying on a few of Karl Marx’s insights. Following that, a few attempts to define real-life robots and robot-like machinery used in Information and Communication Technology will be seen, leading to a brief foray on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. Finally, the last part will have recourse to Hannah Arendt’s theory of action in an effort to reflect on the meaning of the hopes for and attempts at an automated education.

The development of information and communication technology (ICT) is making daily life more convenient by allowing access to information at anytime and anywhere and by improving the efficiency of organizations. Unfortunately, malicious code is also proliferating and becoming increasingly complex and sophisticated. In fact, even novices can now easily create it using hacking tools, which is causing it to increase and spread exponentially. It has become difficult for humans to respond to such a surge. As a result, many studies have pursued methods to automatically analyze and classify malicious code. There are currently two methods for analyzing it: a dynamic analysis method that executes the program directly and confirms the execution result, and a static analysis method that analyzes the program without executing it. This paper proposes a static analysis automation technique for malicious code that uses machine learning. This classification system was designed by combining a method for classifying malicious code using a portable executable (PE) structure and a method for classifying it using a PE structure. The system has 98.77% accuracy when classifying normal and malicious files. The proposed system can be used to classify various types of malware from PE files to shell code.

Intimate partner violence (IPV) remains a scourge that compromises the rights of many women around the world, shaping an asymmetry in civil rights. Fighting gender-based violence, especially when it is committed by an intimate partner, is an important responsibility that needs to be addressed from all angles. It is also remarkable that our society is clearly conditioned by information and communication technology (ICT), which involves many aspects of our daily life. Unfortunately, violence that is performed in the real world is also replicated in this ‘virtual’ existence, by offenders in ICT contexts. On the other hand, the same technologies also provide a plethora of opportunities to fight IPV, which are enhanced by the innovative paradigm of the so-called Internet of Things (IoT). In this work, we first present a thorough compilation of ICT proposals already published—based on either hardware or software—aimed at protecting IPV survivors, and which can be applied in real life situations but also within social networks. The challenges that still lie ahead are highlighted and, a complete ICT-based platform for IPV management, within an IoT framework, that overcomes the limitations of previous works is proposed, and then promoting a symmetry between individuals in society.

Educational Informatics is a multidisciplinary research area that uses Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in education. This article reports a wide overview about the new perspective of educational informatics that has been implemented in Latin America. This general view is the result of the different talks presented during the XIII Conference of Educational Informatics, organized by the Ibero-American Network of Educational Informatics RIBIE (Red Iberoamericana de Informática Educativa) in Colombia. These talks were proposed by international panelists from various parts of Latin America in the lines of ICT for Education and Peace, Thinking and Artificial Intelligence, Emergent Scenarios in Education and Mobiles Technologies and Apps for Entrepreneurship and Learning.

This study examines the effectiveness of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) as one of the Formative Assessment tools in the teaching and learning of Malay Language grammar. This study focuses on the level of understanding and understanding of pupils on the lessons learned through the application of Nearpod. The subject involved in this study were 26 students of Primary 4. They are from middle and high progress students. Through Nearpod Application, teachers can monitor and evaluate students' learning-related lessons. Teachers are able to give immediate feedback as students’ responses will be flashed on the projector screen. Peer assessments are also used in this lesson. Through teacher observation, the Nearpod Application was successfully used as one of the Formative Assessment tools. The findings show that 90% of students are able to understand the use of prefix peN- clearly. This application can also arouse students’ interest to learn Malay in a fun environment.

This research was motivated by Mathematics learning learning activities that went well. It can be seen from the high learning outcomes of learning citizens. The purpose of this study is to describe professional competencies including (1) mastering the concepts and mindset of science that underlie the subject matter, (2) developing learning material, (3) developing professionalism in a sustainable manner, (4) utilizing information and communication technology to develop themselves. This type of research is quantitative descriptive. The population in the study amounted to twenty and samples of fifteen people. The sampling technique in this research is random sampling method. Data collection techniques and tools used are interviews and interview guidelines. Data analysis techniques use a percentage formula. The findings of this study indicate that the professional competence of instructors according to learning citizens in the teaching and learning process of Mathematics is very good, it includes the following four aspects: (1) mastering the concepts and scientific mindset that underlie the subject matter, (2) developing the subject matter, (3) develop professionalism in a sustainable manner, (4) utilize information and communication technology to develop themselves.It is recommended for instructors to keep maintaining and improving professional competencies that are already good in the future.

The internet has completely reconfigured social relationships. As information and communication technology continues to change and evolve in ways that were previously unimaginable, films like Spike Jonze’s Her seem not so far from future technological developments. The purpose of this paper is to depict how Jonze’s work does a substantive job in portraying the disconnection from the world individual undergoes when they overly depend on technology for affection and meaning. One may think the idea of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) becoming so personable as unachievable, however, most of our smart technology is already customized to suit our personal needs and gives us quick information such as Siri or Alexa. This paper discusses some relevant aspects of this problem.
