Da’wah activities are required to always adjust to the development and the needs of era, so dakwah can no longer be described just as doctrinal studes, but rather the strategy for bringing ummah to transform socially. Therefore, as part of Tri Dharma, universities should build a strong and adaptive curriculum to produce competent alumni in their fields. One of the strategies that need to be put forward is through mainstreaming scientific journals because today's publications are becoming vital points in assessing academic productivity, measuring the depth of a person's social analysis, or maintaining the credibility of an institution. To address this matter, Faculty of Da’wah and Communication UIN Sunan Kalijaga made a breakthrough by establishing a journals house at the faculty level. The effort is supported by the Department of Da'wah Management through several strategic steps such as: implementation of cultural and structural strategy through Jurnal MD, encouraging academic community to productively writing in accordance with their field and interest of the study, pouring lecturer and student activity into manuscript deserve to be published, and organize academic forums to obtain quality manuscript.

JOELHO 10 closes the cycle of the second series of “em cima do joelho”. This cycle aimed to put JOELHO in dialogue with the scientific journals on architecture while integrating some of the irreverencethat was explored in the first 12 numbers of ecdj. The goal was no more mapping the everyday life of ourschool of architecture in Coimbra but contributing to the academic debates that were taking placein the architectural field. Women in architecture, Anthropology, Memory, Teaching through Design,Digital, Heritage, Utopias, European City or Reuse were themes identified by us and a group of guesteditors that challenged the academic community to participate. Peer reviewed by invited academicexperts, the authors struggled to support their arguments or to achieve coherence. On one side,Joelho became more scientific, but on the other side, it was touched by the irony of the artists in the cover,or the joy of the students in the “exhibition” section. To all of them, a big thanks for keeping JOELHO abeautiful object, either in paper or in the digital cloud.

This case study identifies an effective model developed by the faculty of Education and Children’s Services at the University of Chester to further student engagement at faculty level of the institution during the academic year 2014/15. The initiative aimed to encourage and facilitate staff and students to work in partnership in order to bring about enhancements to the learning experience of students within a shared academic community. Seven students involved with the initiative share their projects, the outcomes of these and personal reflections of their student engagement journey in the faculty. The paper concludes by outlining key factors to consider when developing a partnership approach with students through the lens of student engagement.

This article discusses the relationship between personal interests and medical research. The presence of research professionals who conduct studies which will later be used for market investments through new pharmaceutical products or procedures has brought up a number of issues, especially regarding the neutrality of the use of such products. The fact that some researchers receive shares in stocks and profits of some companies, and the way the companies finance them and use their credibility in scientific marketing have been a source of concern to scientific journals, the academic community and the better-informed public as to the validity of the results presented and the reliability of the pharmaceutical products themselves. The question of how neutrality can be preserved without the inevitable involvement of these interests is an ethical issue that has yet to be carefully examined by agencies that regulate the medical profession.

One important point in carrying out the functions of the Tridharma of Higher Education by lecturers is to carry out research and publish the results of their thoughts and analyzes. The demands of publication by the academic community of Higher Education have a considerable impact on the awareness of the lecturers of the importance of conducting studies, research and writing scientific works. The development of scientific work in Indonesia has been relatively better, especially since the enactment of government regulations, which required S1, S2 and S3 students to write articles in scientific journals as one of the prerequisites for graduation. Lecturers certainly have greater demands to actively write in scientific journals both at accredited national level and reputable international journals. So the authors conducted this study aimed at analyzing the correlation of the level of lecturer workload to the increase in the number of publications. STIKOM Tunas Bangsa does not yet have a system to analyze the level of lecturer workload with an increase in the number of studies. For this reason, it is necessary to apply the Backpropagation algorithm. ANN combined with the Backpropagation algorithm can measure the level of correlation. The variables used are structural positions, number of even and odd semester credits, number of services. The target used is the amount of research. So the pattern of correlation between the two variables is formed. The output of the lecturer workload is reduced by the target which is the number of publications. So the results obtained are correlations between lecturers' workloads to the increase in the number of publications.

The article presents major events illustrating the role of both statistical academics and official statistics community in the development of „Statistical News” information profile. The formulation of an information strategy during the creation of „Statistical News” in 1956, the refusal of dominating magazine contents by instructional and training information mainly for internal use in the 1960s as well as the introduction of functional solutions resulting from the requirements of scientific journals in 2013 were considered as one of the most significant issues. The academic community of the Main School of Planning and Statistics, which has influenced the development of the thematic profile of „Statistical News”, was also characterized in this paper.

Over the last decade, the issue of student activity in the educational space is of growing worldwide interest from the academic community and practitioners. With the rapid growth of information and communication technologies penetrating all areas of life, educational space particularly, the research on diverse types of student activity has attracted the attention of international scholars. Student activity transfers to virtual space, so learning and communication activities are largely transformed. Thus, the academic community finds it crucial to analyze integrated activity. The research aims to study integrated student activity in five areas of life and identify its links with the orientation of their communicative activity. It engaged 104 undergraduates from Udmurt University and Medical College. The research was based on Volochkov and Popov’s method of “Diagnostics of student activity” and Vasyura’s method of measuring the orientation of communicative activity. Methods of mathematical statistics were applied to process the data. In student educational activity, three components of activity composition are correlated with the orientation of communicative activity. It is identified that student as an actor of educational activity is likely to be satisfied with academic success and efforts to overcome study barriers if he or she is oriented to actively interact with other actors of educational space. The data may provide a ground for devising a counseling programme to manage the development of activity in various areas of life.
