This paper reports on an attempt to achieve maximum efficiency and lowest possible emissions for a small-scale biomass boiler. This aim can be attained only by changing the control algorithm of the boiler, and in this way not raising the acquisition costs for the boiler. This paper describes the experimental facility, the problems that arose while establishing the facility, and how we have dealt with them. The focus is on discontinuities arising after periodic grate sweeping, and on finding the parameters of the PID control loops. Alongside these methods, which need a lambda probe signal for proper functionality, we inroduce another method, which is able to intercept the optimal combustion working point without the need to use a lambda sensor.

Automation of process control in chemical plant is an inspiring application field of mechatronicengineering. In order to understand the complexity of the automation and its application requireknowledges of chemical engineering, mechatronic and other numerous interconnected studies. The background of this paper is an inherent problem of overheating due to lack of level controlsystem. The objective of this research is to control the dynamic process of desired level more tightlywhich is able to stabilize raw material supply into the chemical plant system. The chemical plant is operated within a wide range of feed compositions and flow rates whichmake the process control become difficult. This research uses modelling for efficiency reason andanalyzes the model by PID control algorithm along with its simulations by using Matlab.

Based on the background of wind power, considering the wind blade sweep area on the uneven distribution, this paper is using the PID control algorithm to control the pitch system. At the same time, this paper is using Siemens SCL to programming, simulating on the experimental platform. Simulation results show the validity of the theory and the feasibility of the system, realizing variable pitch control of fan blade.

In this study, we presented a boiler combustion robust control method under load changes based on the least squares support vector machine, PID parameters are on-line adjusted and identified by LSSVM, optimum control output is obtained. The simulation result shows control performance of the intelligent control algorithm is superior to traditional control algorithm and fuzzy PID control algorithm, the study provides a new control method for strong non-linear boiler combustion control system.

Due to the limitation of the size and power, micro unmanned aerial vehicle (MUAV) usually has a small load capacity. Aiming at the problems of limited installation space and easy being interfered in flight attitude measurement of the small-scale unmanned helicopter (SUH), a low-cost and lightweight flight control system of the SUH based on ARM Cortex-M4 core microcontroller and Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) sensors is developed in this paper. On this basis, in order to realize the autonomous flight control of SUH, firstly, the mathematical model of the SUH is given by using the Newton-Euler formulation. Secondly, a cascade flight controller consisting of the attitude controller and the position controller is developed based on linear active disturbance rejection control (LADRC) and proportional-integral-derivative (PID) control. Furthermore, simulations are conducted to validate the performance of the attitude controller and the position controller in MATLAB/SIMULINK simulation environment. Finally, based on the Align T-REX 470L SUH experimental platform, the hovering experiment and the route flight experiment are also carried out to validate the performance of the designed flight control system hardware and the proposed control algorithm. The results show that the flight control system designed in this paper has high reliability and strong anti-interference ability, and the control algorithm can effectively and reliably realize the attitude stabilization control and route control of the SUH, with high control accuracy and small error.

Abstract The current paper presents an engineering approach for studies of the control algorithm designed for a mechanically robust large antenna. Feed-forward control methods with the 3rd-order polynomial tracking algorithm are supplemented to the original feed-back PID control system. Dynamical model of the existing servo system of 32m radio telescope has been developed to widen a case analysis of observation sessions and efficiency of the control algorithms due to limited access to an antenna. Algorithms along with the results from the system implemented on a real antenna as well as model results are presented.
