37 Background: Delivery of survivorship care plan (SCP) using a multidisciplinary approach is optimal (Hewitt et al., 2006). However, many institutions experience implementation barriers (Dulko et al., 2013). The pilot study aim compared the effectiveness of two SCP delivery methods (extended vs. brief) on self-reported confidence in disease management (breast cancer). Secondary aim evaluated timeliness and patient/provider burden. Methods: Quasi-experimental pre- and post-survey design with control group (brief explanation/ delivery of SCP) and treatment group (comprehensive consultative visit). Pretesting included distress screening and self-efficacy survey. Post-testing included self-efficacy survey, tracking of referral activity, and patient satisfaction. Time study data and process mapping were included. Descriptive data analyses and Mixed ANOVA; significance set p < .05. Results: 73 eligible patients identified (age 61.93 ±11.6 years), 36 completing pre/post testing, and 62% declined consultative visit. At pre-testing, 45% rated distress > 3 [emotional (58%), physical (50%), nutritional (30%)]. Post-testing showed 94% compliance with support service referral(s). 89% felt understanding improved, 66% found SCP helpful, 59% said SCP prepared them for transition, and 77% were satisfied. Time main effect was significant for self-efficacy, Wilks Lambda = .89, F (1,34) = 4.2, p = .048. Follow-up paired-samples t-test showed significant improvement in consultative group, t (21) = -2.56, p = .018. Group differences not significant, but both groups demonstrated positive change (7% consultative; 4% control). Time study data revealed overall time spent per patient was 3.7 hours for consultative group vs. 2.2 hours for control group. New process change to integrative model reduced time by 65%. Conclusions: Both SCP delivery methods demonstrated improved patient confidence in managing disease and positive satisfaction. However, the extended visit did not yield outcomes justifying the increased program cost and resource. The pilot fostered a multidisciplinary approach to SCP delivery and yielded a process for improved timeliness and optimal delivery model.

A role-playing format was used to determine the effect of skill training in the use of leadership acts previously found to be critical. These were: (1) the degree to which the discussion issue is posed as a problem rather than a solution and (2) the readiness to share available data. Trained leaders were not permitted to make suggestions or to favor a solution. Their role was to accept ideas without evaluating them. The problem situation involved a foreman who would like to have three crew members change their work procedure so as to increase production. In 25 groups the leader was trained in the two above-mentioned leadership skills, and in 29 groups the leader was untrained. The solutions were of three types: (1) Old method, or refusal to change; (2) New method, indicated by the time-study data; and (3) an Integrative method which assimilates the facts and feelings of conflicting parties and, in addition, requires innovation. The Trained leader groups produced 68.0% Integrative solutions in contrast to the Untrained leader groups 10 3% The acceptance of their group decisions were significantly higher than in the Untrained groups, and the members of the Trained leader groups perceived their leaders in a more favorable light. The important variable in the Trained leaders was their skill rather than their knowledge.

Nowadays, small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) are becoming increasingly competitive. In order to fulfill the rapidly changing market and diversified demands of customers, the SMEs need to achieve and maintain high productivity and quality, with fast response, sufficient flexibility, and short lead times. Therefore, Industry 4.0 offers various manufacturing paradigms that might be a solution in order to increase the productivity of SMEs such as intelligent and flexible manufacturing. Furthermore, in the last decade, the emphasis on adopting eco-friendly practices, implementing sustainability measures, and protecting the environment has continued to grow, to gain traction across SMEs. In fact, because of this need, many SMEs are now adopting sustainable manufacturing practices in response to this increased focus on sustainability and environmental stewardship. The main purpose of this paper is to design and study the implementation of a sustainable, intelligent material handling system for material distribution with utilizing an agent-based algorithm as control architecture. A time study-based methodology has been implemented to evaluate the overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) to identify the matters that need to be resolved and optimized to increase the OEE percentage with consideration of the sustainability of the system. An exhaustive analytical trend applied to the generated time study data. Accordingly, further hardware, software, and layout design limitation and problems detected, and the proper solutions were anticipated. The observed time study results were presented, a fundamental set of analytical observation and information with associated histograms was reviewed. In addition, the study aims to recognize and analyze effective factors on the sustainability of improved processes, using a simple model. To do this, using experts’ viewpoints, affective factors on the sustainability of process improvement activities are determined.

  Objective: The objective of the study was to ensure that intermediates and the bulk product can be held without any significant adverse effect on the quality of the material till next step of processing. Such a holding period should be based on data. Studies should not be extended to find the edge of failure for holding.Method: Samples are put away in same natural conditions as in manufacturing/storage. After establishing a sampling plan required sample amount based on the batch size is ascertained, the intervals and tests are to be performed. Samples are kept in a storage container and tested. Results are contrasted and the underlying benchmark information of the control test. Hold-time study data shall give the assurance the maximum allowable hold times for bulk and in-process drug products. In general, one lot can be used for validating hold times if any irregularity comes, results were observed then another two lots can be used for this investigation.Conclusion: Each manufacturing stage shelf life can be determined depending on the hold-time study results. If the hold-time samples are passing at 60-day time point, then the shelf life of the specific stage can be considered up to 45 days.

The pattern of economic aggressiveness has exchanged worldwide. Many countries have joined the worldwide economic competition to capture the worldwide market to remain moneymaking and competitive by increasing their production. There are so many factors that influence the efficiency of a manufacturing system. The most widely addressed issue is how to increase production. Motion and time study approach are one of the productivities increasing techniques assist in many manufacturing industries. Productivity plays a significant or significant role in a company. There are many reasons for which productivity decreases, and there are various methods to improve productivity. However, choosing which method to use according to the situation is a wise decision. This study was done in an industry engaged in manufacturing Desk Accessories, Bag, Industrial Tool Kit, Leather Product and Home Furnishing products. The time study data for making the U bag process faster decreases the time taken for making bags and increases the production rate to increase productivity. The data was collected, and significant improvement in changeover time was observed
