We have automated a Seeman-Bohlin Guinier x-ray diffractometer by interfacing it to a minimally configured PDP 11/23 computer. The programs that run on the microcomputer to control the operation of the diffractometer are stored on a mainframe host running the UNIX+ operating system. A software interface allows a particular data acquisition program to be downloaded from the UNIX host and executed on the satellite processor. This same interface allows the collected data to be periodically off-loaded to the host for processing and storage.

The rapid development of the IT world has covered all aspects of life and among IT technology products is the creation of Operating Systems and Web browser applications. Privacy in the use of IT in the open era is now highly expected, therefore now widely developed Operating Systems and Web browser applications that have facilities to protect user privacy. Linux and TOR Browser is a combination that is widely used in the field of security, but unfortunately many are misused by the person in a crime. The motivation to use both is to eliminate or minimize the digital footprint of the browsing activity so that it will complicate the search of digital evidence in a crime. This research proposes a framework of stages for TOR Browser analysis in Linux Operating System which aims to provide solution in forensic investigation using offline forensic method. The use of offline forensic methods to obtain detailed information from a digital proof on a computer in a off state

Physical activity is a vital part of cardiac rehabilitation (CR). However, heart-healthy physical activity levels in people with cardiovascular disease drop significantly after CR. This exploratory study employs qualitative and survey methods within a co-creation approach. The aim is to understand the mechanisms of healthy behavior and habit formation in order to create a novel evidence-based (post-)rehabilitation approach that employs digital means to sustain long-term physical activity levels in people with cardiovascular disease.

The development of computer technology is increasing rapidly. This has positive and negative effects. One of the negative effects that occurred was the use of Line applications to conduct online shop fraud. Line is one of the instant messenger applications that can be used on computers, especially on Windows 8.1 operating system computers. Applications that run on the computer leave traces of data on Random Access Memory (RAM). Data left in RAM can be obtained using digital forensic techniques, namely live forensics which is used when the computer is running and connected to the internet. This study aims to find digital evidence regarding cases of online shop fraud using the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) method. Digital evidence can be obtained using forensic tools, namely RamCapturer, FTK Imager and Winhex. RamCapturer is used to acquire data in RAM, FTK Imager is used for imaging and Winhex is used to analyze data that has been taken. The results obtained in this study were conversational recordings consisting of conversation time, conversation content and conversation status which could be digital evidence in uncovering the online shop fraud crime that occurred.

Internet as media to do political movement. Since that, the Indonesian people understand internet-based activities until this current progress. Use of internet in Indonesia most frequently utilize units to access internet, namely, handphone, laptop/notebook, Personal Computer (PC), and tablet. Media used to access internet include mobile (47.6%), computer (1.7%) and both (50.7%). Use of internet increases so that criminal action rate is higher; for example, online gambling. In general, online gambling is done using smartphone. However, today smartphone can load more than one type of online gambling. So speedy progress of online gambling  must contain criminal action. Criminal action is taken by involving smartphone having online gambling with impact on challenge to prove digital evidences and analyze it. Online gambling is a crime or criminal action  being social problems resulting in negative impacts such as morale and mental disorders in society, especially young generation. Questions asked in this study are how to find characteristic of online gambling and digital evidences available to smartphone. This study focuses on characteristic and digital evidences in smartphone based on facts found in thing of evidence. Based on results of study, we found some types of online gambling in smartphone. Characteristic and digital evidences found in smartphone were found by using forensic media, namely, XRY. Forensic media of XRY were used to find thing of digital evidence in smartphone, such as, ID, Password and transaction of online gambling via social applications.

In this brief article the authors report on the objectives of this nongovernmental organization and, most particularly, on the protection of the person in its International Ethical Guidelines for the fields of clinical trials and epidemiological studies. They emphasize the terminology used to describe the subjects or the populations involved in these studies. They discuss the possibility and nature of harm to persons involved in such studies, and justify the requirement for informed consent also for the persons involved in epidemiological studies. Finally, they consider the roles of such trials and studies as the basis for evidence-based medicine, including cases when their results are pooled in meta-analysis. This methodology is the subject of examination by a CIOMS Working Group of  problems concerning identification and selection criteria, analysis and interpretation of results (including unpublished results), and storage of data.

The use of cloud storage media is very popular nowadays, especially with the Google Drive cloud storage media on smartphones. The increasing number of users of google drive storage media does not rule out the possibility of being used as a medium for storing illegal data, such as places to store negative content and so on. On a smartphone with an Android operating system that has a Google Drive application installed, digital evidence can be extracted by acquiring and analyzing the system files. This study implemented a mobile forensic method based on guidelines issued by the National Institute of Standards of Technology (NIST). The results of this study are presented in the form of data recovery in the deleted Google Drive storage media, which results in the form of headers of the data type in the form of deleting account names, deleted file types, and timestamp of deleted files. Digital evidence obtained with 59 Axiom Magnet software found in the Entry227 file, with 46 files, if the percentage is a success rate of 77%.

Background: Extensive evidence-based literature supports the use of intracameral (IC) moxifloxacin for the prevention of postoperative endophthalmitis after cataract surgery. The Aurora Pharmacy Packaging Center (APPC) has developed a process for centrally preparing IC moxifloxacin. Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate the centralized preparation of IC moxifloxacin production for quality assurance and to quantify a potential reduction in costs. Methods: The APPC’s compounding procedure of IC moxifloxacin was evaluated using United States Pharmacopeia (USP) Convention 797 standard and compared with practices described in evidence-based literature. Patients who received IC moxifloxacin intraoperatively from one of 3 ophthalmologists during cataract surgery performed between February 15, 2016, and August 15, 2016, were identified using electronic health records. Cost savings were calculated by reviewing costs associated with drug supplies used by the APPC. Results: The APPC process for the centralized preparation of IC moxifloxacin was deemed compliant with USP 797’s sterile compounding standards. USP 797 validation criteria included proper sterile technique, equipment, room sterility and pressure, beyond use dating, and storage. Implementation of the centralized production of moxifloxacin reduced the direct product cost per surgery from $140 to $20 (a cost savings of $120 per surgery). There were 459 cataract surgeries analyzed during the study period, resulting in a savings of $55 080 over 6 months. Conclusion: The APPC’s centralized compounding procedure was found to be compliant with pharmacy compounding standards and to yield significant cost savings.
