Este trabalho tem como objetivo verificar a construção do sujeito vampiro, suas transformações e relações sociais, considerando um esquema genealógico a partir dos estudos de Michel Foucault. Portanto, voltamos o nosso olhar para um estudo literária específica do gênero. De um lado, delineamos como corpus três narrativas literárias: Drácula, de Bram Stoker; O vampiro, de J. Polidori e Carmilla, de S. Le Fanu. De outro, discutimos onze filmes: Nosferatu, de F. W. Murnau; Drácula, de Tod Browing; O filho do Drácula, de Robert Siodmak; O vampiro da noite, As noivas do Drácula e Drácula: o príncipe das trevas de Terence Fisher; Drácula de John Bodhan; Drácula, de Francis Ford Coppola; Entrevista com o vampiro, de Neil Jordan; Blade, de Sthephen Morrington; e Crépusculo, de Catherine Hardwicke). De maneira geral, investigaremos uma recorrência da posição ocupada pelo sujeito vampiro, evidenciamos modificações ocorridas em torno de sua imagem social e marcadas em seus corpos. Mais especificamente, primeiro, analisamos a posição do sujeito vampiro na literatura, tomando para tal estudo a literatura específica de vampiro aqui citada, focalizando o corpo. Depois, observamos as modificações ocorridas no corpo e na conduta do vampiro deslocadas da literatura para o cinema. E, finalmente, focalizamos as relações sociais dos sujeitos vampiros, voltando o nosso olhar para um jogo de poder/saber entre o vampiro e a mulher nas produções cinematográficas. Archetypal Images

This research discusses archetypal in the novel Dracula written by Stoker. The purpose of this research is to find out some archetypal images in the novel. Some of the problems that exist today are readers who do not know the meaning of archetypal images contained in a novel. The data used in this study were taken from the novel Dracula written by Stoker. In this research, the researcher applies Carl Jung's theory. This study uses descriptive qualitative research, in qualitative research the key concepts, ideas, and processes studied are part of the central phenomenon. The result of this research is that the novel Dracula has many archetypal images contained in it. The archetypes in Dracula are: sun, color, the archetype women, and wise old man. Based on the results of this study, the researcher concludes that there are several archetypes in Dracula's novel that are used to convey implied meanings through the symbols used.

According to the anthropologist Mary Douglas, the quest for purity is usually accompanied by fears of change, ambiguity and transgression. Translating Douglas’ insights into historical terms, one may assume that sensibilities about what is pure and what is impure grow stronger during times of intense social and political change, as exemplifi ed by the stormy decades around 1900. This period was characterized by a profound identity-crisis and at the same time was marked by a quest for purity. One may think of a deepened concern for hygiene, of the rise of racist movements, but also of an intense longing for cultural reform and regeneration. Notwithstanding their many differences, these phenomena are linked through their concern for the formal distinction between what is pure and what is impure. A study of the work of Wagner, Bram Stoker and Zola gives some insight into the language of purity, serves to show the religious meaning of formal categories of purity and impurity, and makes it clear that the quest for purity in one area is related to the quest for purity in another area.
