The architecture sphere: The tourism attraction issues

The article is devoted to the architectural sphere development key idea as one of the main tourist interest components. The article tells us that today it is increasing the importance of the visual urban environment perception and impressions, tourist social experience forming. These conditions provoke a significant meaning of architecture as an attractor. Modern requirements dictate the introduction of modern marketing management mechanism architectural forms need, including their optimal using in the tourism industry. It contents a lot of world and domestic practice examples. It mentions a special interest to the architectural forms creation processes and modification on the purposes of it integration in tourism. These processes could be realized through the urban environment museumification, remake-building constructing, the unrealized architectural projects implementation, architectural reset", as well as through the design of new attractions.

AbstractThe COVID-19 pandemic has halted activities in the global tourism industry, and the situation has only been worsened by the general air of uncertainty and lack of effective vaccinations. Consequently, people have begun testing various remedies to enhance their immunity, primarily turning to traditional medical practices and home remedies. The medicinal use of spices, given their immune-boosting properties, is increasingly popular globally and has enhanced global awareness of spices and their products. In light of this surging popularity, this study examines spice tourism as a concept of niche tourism. This study proposes spice tourism as a valuable post-COVID-19 strategy by providing four different approaches to position spice tourism within special interest tourism. This paper also suggests a tourism development plan for spice tourism and proposes a strategy for its resilience post-COVID-19.

Entertainment tourism is attracting attention from the industry and the academics. This study aimed to discover the barriers for the development of entertainment tourism in Macau from the industry’s perspective. A qualitative research approach was used to collect data from the entertainment tourism industry. Results show that policies and regulations, economy, marketing, management, government attitude, expertise and manpower, facilities and attractions as well as infrastructure problems are the main barriers for the development of entertainment tourism. Implications and suggestions for entertainment tourism practitioners are provided.

Rail sometimes serves mainly as a transportation corridor connecting rural areas, or urban settings and green strips. However, the rise in the tourism industry in a developed country has increased the popularity of trails used in recreation. Apart from that, rail travel can be experienced as an enhancement of travel especially the onboard journey. Even though the rail tourism industry is well developed around the world, the studies related to rail travel in Malaysia are less plentiful. Therefore, this paper aims to review the idea of traveller’s experiences in rail tourism and identify the factors that contribute to rail tourism in Sabah Malaysia, especially among Special Interest Tourists (SITs). SITs can be defined as a specialized style of touristy that focuses on one topic and personally conducted tour by folks that wish to develop their interests. A content analysis on rail tourism, traveller’s experience, and the dimension of rail services was conducted for this paper. This is also involved an interview with the stakeholder to clarify and explain the features of rail tourism based on the content analysis and literature review. As for that, it's pointed out that the features and characteristics of the rail tourism setting as the variables of development criteria can make the touring route from the railway station is a pleasurable experience for tourists. It will give an impact on the experience and generate the intention of travellers to revisit and experience the services again. The final theoretical framework has been developed to show the concept of rail tourism among Special Interest Tourists (SITs) in Sabah Malaysia.

The main purpose of the study is to develop methodological basis and practical recommendations in respect of the formation of a system of strategic marketing management of enterprises in conditions of market uncertainty. The urgency of solving this scientific problem consists in the fact that the construction of the market structure of the modern economy requires to solve many strategic managerial tasks on different levels. Within this context, one of the important tasks is to elaborate strategic approaches to advance enterprises in the tourism industry, which allow to use the opportunities of the external and internal environment effectively, to minimize the negative impact of environmental factors, to sustain and to develop competitive advantages in the long run.

Special interest tourism (SIT) has become a trend in modern tourism industry.  It is emerging as a niche tourism concept in which tourists look for exclusive travel experiences, tour operators work passionately to offer specialized services and destinations focus on sustainable development. Wayanad, an exquisite hill station of Kerala, is emerging as one of the most preferred destinations for nature lovers as well as special interest tourists. Keeping in mind the demand for SIT promotion and with the objective of sustaining the natural and unique cultural heritage of Wayanad, an attempt is made in this paper to explore the special interest tourism avenues of Wayanad.

Within the context of promoting the “healthy routes” program, the aim of this study was to validate the urban walkability perception questionnaire (UWPQ) in the Balearic Islands to determine the characteristics of the urban environment that promote walking among the population. The UWPQ measures pedestrian facilities, infrastructures of the environment, perception of safety and a participant’s general opinion. This process was performed in 12 routes predefined by a community participation program and set around the primary health centers. Degree of correlation between the items was calculated. The final internal consistency was 0.8 in all blocks according to the Cronbach’s alpha test (p < 0.01). Goodman and Kruskal–gamma correlation coefficient (γ) between the item measuring the general opinion and the rest of the items was significant. The items from the perception of safety and pedestrian facilities blocks were the ones that most affected the final assessment. Those regarding the pedestrian-only pavements, clearly marked pavements, noise, traffic density and parks condition obtained the lowest coefficients. To conclude, the results showed that the UWPQ is a suitable instrument to assess the degree of adequacy of the urban environment for walking. It could contribute to create healthy environments as well as to improve public policies.

The present study examined the perception, reaction (i.e., possible measures), and future development from the perspectives of hotel and tourism practitioners and experts to investigate the influence of coronavirus disease 2019 (i.e., COVID-19) on the hospitality and tourism industry in China. After conducting 58 in-depth interviews among hotel and tourism practitioners and experts, feasible and practical measures were proposed to reduce such influence and predict the future development of China’s hospitality and tourism industry. Findings indicate that the influence of COVID-19 on the industry is perceived mainly through the pandemic’s economic and social effects. Possible measures that can be adopted for the recovery of China’s hospitality and tourism industry include the following aspects: government financial support, employee relationship management and electronic (e)-training, business marketing management, and industry co-operation network. A Perception-Reaction-Predication (PRP) crisis model is also proposed.
