The authors analyzed works of domestic and foreign scientists who studied the issue. The results of the work: first, the analysis of the methods applied for monitoring of threats to economic security (from the standpoint of system, resource, functional, cluster, and situational, cyclic and process approaches) is made and their advantages and drawbacks with regard to the specifics of the development of the forest sector of the Russian economy are identified.

In this article from the standpoint of structural approach the content of economic security in key areas of the Russian economy, including forestry. The study formed the methodological basis of the scientific concept of economic security in the forestry sector in the face of increasing climate change and increasing anthropogenic load. The main problems of the state of the Russian economy, which give rise to serious threats to economic security, are considered. The topic is relevant due to the growing risks and threats to our economy. The purpose of the article is to analyze the nature and methods of state management of conditions affecting the level of economic security in the country. The tasks of the analysis are to identify deficiencies in the management system and ways to eliminate them. The novelty of the article consists in a comprehensive analysis of the main reasons and factors of the growing danger for the intensification of stagnation and the economy lagging behind the advanced countries. The main weaknesses and shortcomings of state management of the process of ensuring economic security are revealed: the growth of bureaucracy, corruption, the preservation of a backward resource-export model of the economy. A number of necessary reforms of the state apparatus and diversification of economies are proposed

The authors of the work investigate one of the key areas of the Russian economy - the oil industry. It is hydrocarbons that account, on average, up to 40% of the Russian budget revenues. Oil revenues provide macroeconomic stability of the state, employment of the population in the oil and gas sector and related industries, as well as the stability of the ruble currency in the international market and prices for most types of products in the domestic market. The aim of the work is to study the possibilities of improving the current mechanisms for controlling price formation for key brands of hydrocarbons in order to increase the economic and energy security of the Russian Federation. The scientific study also analyzes the impact of the prices for Urals and Brent crude oil on the Russian ruble quotes against the US dollar and other world currencies. The correlation between the increasing of main oil brands value on the hydrocarbon market and strengthening of the Russian currency, as well as the filling the Reserve and other national funds, as one of the factors in the development of the Russian economy, is studied. The scientific basis of the research was Russian and foreign publications, state statistical materials, opinions and assessments of experts in the field, as well as the authors’ own developments. While studying the materials, the authors considered such indicators as: prices for “Brent”and “Urals” oil, their relationship and the reasons for the fall in prices for gasoline and hydrocarbon-derived materials, as well as the impact on the prices of goods in other economic sectors. The paper studies and selects the most effective responses to changes in the market environment in the context of nonstationary fuel prices.

We considered the issues of the full-featured implementation of mandatory internal control and stratification audit, the activities of which are directly related to the globalization of the Russian economy, and to the improvement of the economic security of the enterprise as a whole. After all, growing crisis phenomena, the presence of a “gray” economic strategy and corruption manifestations can strangle any business, despite the level of integration in the region and its significance. In such circumstances, a revision of the classic internal control and audit continuity schemes are necessary. This will provide qualitative prerequisites to counteract challenges and threats at any level of enterprise economic stability with the possibility of leveling crisis phenomena, which, in turn, can actively affect the increase in jobs, employment in the region, collection of taxes and fees in general. We should note that the current geopolitical situation and the current legislative initiatives of the country's leadership qualitatively contribute to this, which, in turn, will lead to an increase in the quality of control and audit processes, including in budget spending. Increasing the investment attractiveness of the regions will be achievable only on the fact of consolidating the efforts of all authorities and local self-government with civil society institutions.

The current challenges and threats undermine economic security of the most production enterprises, primarily as the result of such environmental factors, as sanctions and declining oil prices, which in turn significantly affects the whole Russian economy, heavily dependent on energy resources exports. These external factors also threaten the financial stability and create prerequisites for crisis situations at the enterprises, ultimately undermining their economic security. The paper reveals the close relationship between such concepts, as sustainability and economic security, and shows the role of financial strategy as one of the tools to ensure sustainable development of an enterprise under the mentioned conditions. The research findings are considered through the case study of high-tech enterprises within the defence-industrial complex of this country.

The article examines the role of digital innovation in the business efficiency of small and medium-sized enterprises and the economic security of the country. The results of the analysis of the state of digitalization in small and medium-sized businesses. The directions of implementation of digital innovations are analyzed. It is shown that enterprises implementing innovative strategies adapt faster to changes in the external environment. On the basis of the results of sociological surveys published in open sources, the priority directions of implementation of digital innovations by small and medium-sized enterprises in Russia are identified.
