We show that the equilibrium policy rule in beauty contest models is equivalent to that of a single agent’s forecast of the economic fundamental. This forecast is conditional on a modified information process, which simply discounts the precision of idiosyncratic shocks by the degree of strategic complementarity. The result holds for any linear Gaussian signal process (static or persistent, stationary or nonstationary, exogenous or endogenous), and also extends to network games. Theoretically, this result provides a sharp characterization of the equilibrium and its properties under dynamic information. Practically, it provides a straightforward method to solve models with complicated information structures. (JEL C72, D82, D83, D84)

A straightforward method for the preparation of trisphosphinite ligands in one step, using only commercially available reagents (1,1,1-tris(4-hydroxyphenyl)ethane and chlorophosphines) is described. We have made use of this approach to prepare a small family of four trisphosphinite ligands of formula [CH3C{(C6H4OR2)3], where R stands for Ph (1a), Xyl (1b, Xyl = 2,6-Me2-C6H3), iPr (1c), and Cy (1d). These polyfunctional phosphinites allowed us to investigate their coordination chemistry towards a range of late transition metal precursors. As such, we report here the isolation and full characterization of a number of Au(I), Ag(I), Cu(I), Ir(III), Rh(III) and Ru(II) homotrimetallic complexes, including the structural characterization by X-ray diffraction studies of six of these compounds. We have observed that the flexibility of these trisphosphinites enables a variety of conformations for the different trimetallic species.

Up to now both information and its connection to reality do not have scientifically conclusive definitions, nor implicit origin. They emerge in observing multiple impulses’ interactive yes‒no actions modeling information bits. Each memorized bit of information binds a reversible microprocess with an irreversible information macroprocess along a multi-dimensional observing process. Interactive information dynamics assemble geometrical and information structures of observer cognition and intelligence in double spiral rotating code. Information Path Functional integrates multiple interactive dynamics in finite bits which observe and measure reality. The time and space of reality exists only as discrete units of information. The observed information process, creating its Observer, connects reality, information, and the Observer.

A better understanding of the transport properties of gases in oxides is certainly very important in many applications. In the case of metals, a general protection measure against corrosion implies formation of a dense metal oxide scale. The scale should act as a barrier against gas transport and consequently it needs to be gas-tight. This is often assumed but rarely, if ever, confirmed. Hence there is a need for characterization of micro- and/or meso- pores formed especially during the early oxidation stage of metallic materials. This paper presents a novel and relatively straightforward method for characterization of gas release from an oxide previously equilibrated in a controlled atmosphere. The geometry of the sample is approximated to be a plate. The plate can be self-supporting or constitute a scale on a substrate. A mathematical model for calculation of diffusivity and gas content is given for this geometry. A desorption experiment, involving a mass spectrometer placed in ultra high vacuum, can be used to determine diffusivity and amount of gas released with aid of the mathematical model. The method is validated in measurements of diffusivity and solubility of He in quartz and applied in characterization of two Zroxides and one Fe oxide. From the outgassed amounts of water and nitrogen the H2O/N2 molar ratio can be used to estimate an effective pore size in oxides.

The use of a dual-beam, delayed-sweep oscilloscope in the study of the ignition and discharge characteristics of an electronically ignited spark source is described. Transient electrical behavior on a micro and submicrosecond time scale during three stages of spark ignition is discussed, including the triggering and firing of the switching thyratron and the breakdown characteristics of the control spark gaps. Elimination of much of the time jitter in the ignition is discussed. A convenient and straightforward method of monitoring the oscillatory discharge current is presented and used to estimate the residual circuit inductance and resistance. Reactive models are suggested to explain the operation of the source.

N-oxides of N-heteroaromatic compounds find widespread applications in various fields of chemistry. Although the strictly planar aromatic structure of 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) is expected to induce unique features of the corresponding N-oxides, so far the potential of these compounds has not been explored. In fact, appropriate procedure has not been reported for synthesizing these derivatives of phen. Now, we provide a straightforward method for the synthesis of a series of mono-N-oxides of 1,10-phenanthrolines. The parent compounds were oxidized by a green oxidant, peroxomonosulfate ion in acidic aqueous solution. The products were obtained in high quality and at good to excellent yields. A systematic study reveals a clear-cut correlation between the basicity of the compounds and the electronic effects of the substituents on the aromatic ring. The UV spectra of these compounds were predicted by DFT calculations at the TD-DFT/TPSSh/ def2-TZVP level of theory.

The purpose of this study is to familiarize the reader with the diversity of concepts (notions) and stages of development specific to Probability Theory, with the definition and characterization of variables, vectors and random processes, respectively with the most important elements that give random processes. Among these we mention the distribution function, the probability density function, the statistical moments of a random process, the temporal averages, and respectively the correlation (and intercorrelation) of a random signal (process). Also, the implications of random processes in the study of dynamical systems are reviewed, as well as a series of applications specific to the analysis of dynamic behavior.

The analytical performance of the microarray technique in screening the affinity and reactivity of several probes towards a specific target, is highly affected by the coupling chemistry adopted to bind probes to the surface. However, the surface functionality limits the biomolecules that can be attached to the surface to a single type of molecule (DNA, protein, or peptide), thus forcing the execution of separate analyses to compare the performance of different species in recognizing their targets. Here we introduce a new N, N-dimethylacrylamide-based polymeric coating, bearing simultaneously different functionalities (N-acryloyloxysuccinimide and azide groups) to allow an easy and straightforward method to co-immobilize proteins and oriented peptides on the same substrate. The bi-functional copolymer has been obtained by partial post polymerization modification of the functional groups (NAS) of a common precursor. A deep characterization of the copolymer was carried out by means of NMR to quantify the percentage of NAS that has been transformed into azido groups. The polymer was then used to coat surfaces onto which both native antibodies and alkyne modified peptides were immobilized, to perform the phenotype characterization of extracellular vesicles (EVs). Ultimately, this strategy represents a convenient method to reduce the number of analysis, thus possible systematic or random errors, besides offering a drastic shortage in time, reagents and costs.

The beauty contest is a contest which covered and broadcasted by many of electronic and printed media, This social fenomena arises the questions, what is the goal of this contest ?, what are the requirements which must be fulfilled by the participant, what are the creteria of assesments, face beauty, ideal body size, or clothes weared by the participant ?. Is the intellectual factor including into assessment of creteria ? or are there any other requirements must be fulfilled by the participant?, why does media seems more enthusiastic to published and broadcasts this activity?. From all the questions, the writer wishes to analyse, is the taking part of women in this contest and the enthusiastic of media to published and broadcasts this activity is an exploitation of media toward woman? The analaysis showed that the international, national and local beauty contests is an exploitation of media toward woman.
