The aim of this investigation was to develop an efficient, rapid, and selective method for the synthesis ofω-alkylenediphosphoric acids (HO)2(O)P-O-CH2n-O-P(O)(OH)2from reaction of several diols with phosphorus oxychloride. The reaction was investigated using three methodologies: (i) presence of a base, (ii) classical heating, and (iii) use of microwave irradiation. Influence of reaction temperature and molar ratio of reagents, as well as the nature of the solvent, was studied using these three different methods.

Three substituted aryl esters of orthophosphoric acid are the base component of fire-resistant fluids used in the lubricating and electro-hydraulic control system at steam and gas turbines of power plants. In this paper, we studied the possibility of improving the physicochemical and performance properties of phosphates, which are made of the raw materials available in the Russian Federation: phenol and 4-tert-butylphenol by reducing the content of an undesirable component - unsubstituted triphenyl phosphate, which is particularly vulnerable towards water. According to the results of the work, the conclusions were made: - a decrease in the content of triphenyl phosphate to a level of 1% and below leads to some improvement (reduction) of the air release time and an increase in the hydrolytic stability (represented as reducing the change in acid number after prolonged contact with water) of the fire-resistant fluid based on mixed esters. The degree of change of these properties is quantified. - it is possible to achieve the minimum content of triphenyl phosphate by changing the phosphorylation technology. By carrying out the process stepwise, the possibility of the interaction of phosphorus oxychloride with unsubstituted phenol is substantially eliminated, that is why there is almost no probability of an undesirable component formation in the resulting mixture of esters.

The heterocyclic derivatives, 8,9-dimethoxy-3-methyl-1-phenyl-3,4,5,6- tetrahydro-1H-2,3-benzoxazocine(3a) and 9,10-dimethoxy-3-methyl-1- phenyl-1,3,4,5,6,7-hexahydro-2,3-benzoxazonine (3b),examples of two new ring systems, have been prepared by Meisenheimer rearrangement of the corresponding 2-benzazepine and 2-benzazocine N-oxide derivatives (2a) and (2b). The Bischler-Napieralski-type cyclization reaction was used in the preparation of the tertiary amine precursors of these N-oxides reaction conditions for the cyclization were critical and phosphorus oxychloride in refluxing butanenitrile was found to give the best yields of the seven- or eight-membered cyclic imine intermediates. Reductive cleavage of the benzoxazocine derivative (3a) with zinc in acetic acid followed by N-methylation gave the expected product, [2-{3- (dimethylamino)propyl}-4,5-di-methoxyphenyl]phenylmethanol (12). The crystal and molecular structure of (3a) has been determined by X-ray crystallographic analysis.

Purpose The purpose of this study is comparison of the diffusion processes performed using the commercial available dopant paste made by Filmtronics and the original prepared liquid dopant solution. To decrease prices of industrially produced silicon-based solar cells, the new low-cost production processes are necessary. The main components of most popular silicon solar cells are with diffused emitter layer, passivation, anti-reflective layers and metal electrodes. This type of cells is prepared usually using phosphorus oxychloride diffusion source and metal pastes for screen printing. The diffusion process in diffusion furnace with quartz tube is slow, complicated and requires expensive equipment. The alternative for this technology is very fast in-line processing using the belt furnaces as an equipment. This approach requires different dopant sources. Design/methodology/approach In this work, the diffusion processes were made for two different types of dopant sources. The first one was the commercial available dopant paste from Filmtronics and the second one was the original prepared liquid dopant solution. The investigation was focused on dopant sources fabrication and diffusion processes. The doping solution was made in two stages. In the first stage, a base solution (without dopants) was made: dropwise deionized (DI) water and ethyl alcohol were added to a solution consisting of tetraethoxysilane (TEOS) and 99.8 per cent ethyl alcohol. Next, to the base solution, orthophosphoric acid dissolved in ethyl alcohol was added. Findings Diffused emitter layers with sheet resistance around 60 Ω/sq were produced on solar grade monocrystalline silicon wafers using two types of dopant sources. Originality/value In this work, the diffusion processes were made for two different types of dopant sources. The first one was the commercial available dopant paste from Filmtronics and the second one was the original prepared liquid dopant solution.
