Abstract The paper presents research on the effects of soft annealing parameters on a change of the impact strength KC and Brinell hardness (HB) of the EN AC-AlSi11 alloy. The research has been performed according to the trivalent testing plan for two input parameters – temperature in the range between 280°C and 370°C and time in the range between 2 and 8 hours. The application of such heat treatment improves the plasticity of the investigated alloy. The improvement of the impact strength KC by 71% and the decrease of the hardness HB by 20% was achieved for the soft annealing treatment conducted at a temperature 370°C for 8 hours, compared to the alloy without the heat treatment. A change of the form of eutectic silicon precipitations which underwent refinement, coagulation and partial rounding, had a direct effect on the hardness HB and impact strength KC. The results obtained were used to prepare space plots enabling the temperature and time for soft annealing treatment to be selected with reference to the obtained impact strength KC and hardness HB of the alloy with the heat treatment.

Checking software quality and reliability of developed software system is one of the important activities for developing highly-reliable software system. In software testing phase, which is located in the final stage of software development process, software faults remaining the developed software system must be eliminated as possible as the testing manager could. Further, it is also important to develop testing plan to conduct testing activities efficiently under the certain constraints because there are some constraints, such as cost and delivery, in the actual testing phase. This paper discusses method to estimate the number of detectable faults under constant budget constraint by applying a two-dimensional Weibull type software reliability model, in which the software reliability growth process depends on testing time and testing effort factors. We finally show numerical examples of our method by using actual data.

Hydrodynamics of High Speed Craft is a topic of very high interest for recreational boaters and industry professionals alike. This project aims to be a first step toward conducting such experiments in exposed outdoor environments. This paper will outline a preliminary design and testing plan of a free running model of a high speed craft. The proposed free running model will be subjected to all six degrees of freedom, self propelled, autonomously controlled, and will be exposed to weather elements.

With a higher level of the information techonology application in weapon system, the comprehensive electric system becomes more and more complicated, bringing about higher requirements on equipment support. In this paper, the research is mainly targeted at the integrated electrical system for a certain air defense weapon system. The offline live testing plan is employed, and simulated field simulation technology, switch topology in different forms are intergrated throughout the research to complete the performance testing on the major electrical equipment, so as to test the equipment integrity. Research and development of the testing system provide a feasible design method and means of implementation for the performance testing and trouble diagonosis for electrical equipment of the new equipment.

Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA) has planned to investigate on iodine release behavior from fuel through the testing operation of High Temperature Engineering Test Reactor (HTTR) in order to contribute to the reasonable estimation of the radiation exposure necessary for the realization of HTGR in the future. In this test, the fractional release of iodine will be measured and evaluated by measuring xenon isotopes, the daughter nuclides of iodine isotopes, in the primary coolant sampling under the loss-of-forced cooling (LOFC) test by which the primary coolant circulator is shut down and/or the manual scram test of HTTR. In parallel, the local area of primary coolant circuit where iodine is plated-out will be evaluated. This paper describes the testing plan and the preliminary analytical study on the release behavior of iodine and xenon isotopes through the operation of HTTR.
