The electron structure of Pb(Zr1/2Ti1/2)O3(PZT), Pb(Zn1/3Nb2/3)O3(PZN) and Pb(Mn1/3Sb2/3)O3 (PMS) systems was calculated by the SCF-DV-Xα calculation method. The effects of ABO3-type perovskite and pyrochlore ceramic electron structure on their piezoelectricity were also studied. The results showed that the ferroelectric phase is more stable than paraelectric phase and the necessary condition of stable existing ferroelectric is the mixed orbit of O2p orbit and the out layer d orbit of B-site atom. The stability of ferroelectricity can be indicated by the strength of mixed orbit. When (Zr, Ti) was substituted by Mn1/3Sb2/3, Zn1/3Nb2/3, if it could form tetragonal perovskite structure, the total system energy would reduce and the mixed orbit will enhance, which improves the ferroelectricity of PZT system. However, if it forms a cubic pyrochlore structure, the ferroelectricity would lose because the covalent bond strength of B-O (axial direction) and B-O (vertical axial direction) is different obviously, which lead to the system structure become unstable.

Energy harvesting using piezoceramic has drawn a lot of attention in recent years. Its potential usage in microelectromechanical systems is starting to become a reality thanks to the development of an integrated circuit. An accurate equivalent circuit of piezoceramic is important in energy harvesting and the sensing system. A piezoceramic is always considered to be a current source according to empirical testing, instead of the derivation from its piezoelectric characteristics, which lacks accuracy under complicated mechanical excitation situations. In this study, a new current output model is developed to accurately estimate its value under various kinds of stimulation. Considering the frequency, amplitude and preload variation imposed on a piezoceramic, the multivariate model parameters are obtained in relation to piezo coefficients. Using this model, the current output could be easily calculated without experimental testing in order to quickly estimate the output power in energy harvesting whatever its geometric shape and the various excitations.

The microstructure, physical, dielectric and the piezoelectric characteristics of the (K0.5Na0.5) (Nb0.9Ta0.1) O3 (KNNT) ceramics as a function of the sintering temperature and Nd2O3 dopant were inspected in this work. It was found that the sintering temperature has a significant impact on the above-mentioned properties. In the same context, the addition of HYPERLINK "https://pubchem.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/compound/Neodymium_oxide" neodymium oxide led to remarkable improvement in the microstructure, density, dielectric and piezoelectric properties of KNNT ceramics when compared to undoped ceramics.

Abstract PP-based composites with two mineral fillers (perlite or glass beads) were manufactured by extrusion, and then subjected to orientation in a ratio of 3:1. Electrets were obtained in the polarization process under the influence of a constant electric field. Sample morphology was tested by SEM whereas the crystallinity was determined by XRD. Mechanical strength and thermal stability of composites was studied by tensile tests and thermogravimetric analysis, respectively. The piezoelectric characteristics were appointed by measurement of the electrical charge and current voltage in the polarized samples. The dependence of thermally stimulated depolarized current (TSDC) on temperature was also investigated. The piezoelectric coefficient (d33), the electret stability over time as well as activation energy of depolarization process have been determined. It was found that low filler content (i.e. 2.5 and 5 wt.% of glass beads and perlite, respectively) significantly improve piezoelectric properties of isotactic polypropylene (i-PP).
