Las empresas, a nivel global, tienden a una mayor dependencia de las Tecnologías de la Información (TI), no solo para el mantenimiento operativo de las instancias de la organización, sino también para el aumento de valor a la empresa por medio de la explotación de datos y sobre todo bajo el análisis y optimización de sus procesos. La metodología Business Process Management (BPM), al combinarlas con las buenas prácticas propuestas por Information Technology  Infrastructure Library (ITIL), permite la posibilidad de aumentar el valor de la entidad por medio de la mejora y adaptación de los procesos desde una perspectiva más ágil, automatizada y robusta con la capacidad de adaptación al cambio, permitiendo a las organizaciones orientar sus procesos al cliente.

Academic Information System (AIS) is a form of information technology in the form of software services in the education process including academic information. To get a good AIS services, it needs good governance, including IT support, service for IT users as well as continuity of care. Sunan Kalijaga UIN has adequate information technology support used in academic services for users. Audit SIA is needed to fit the IT governance framework and standards of Control Objectives for Information and Related Technology (COBIT). COBIT is standard because it is the most complete guide of best practices in IT management because it has a very good compromise in the breadth of coverage and detail of management's processes. Referring to one of the domains in COBIT is to Deliver and Support the domain that has the focus in his ministry. This study has implemented almost all IT activities and has a maturity level of 2.56, which means IT Academic Information System is approaching Defined Process management. This suggests that the activities of the Deliver and Support domain have been applied, but have not had formal procedures in writing and well documented.

[The final form of this paper was published in the journal Issues in Informing Science and Information Technology.] Considering that big data is a reality for an increasing number of organizations in many areas, its management represents a set of challenges involving big data modeling, storage and retrieval, analysis and visualization. However, technological resources, people and processes are crucial dimensions to facilitate the management of big data in any organization, allowing information and knowledge from a large volume of data to support decision-making. Big data management must be supported by technology, people and processes; hence, this article discusses these three dimensions: the technologies for storage, analysis and visualization of big data; the human aspects of big data; and, in addition, the process management involved in a technological and business approach for big data management.

Business Process Management (BPM) brings together the idea of effectively managing organizations and properly using Information Technology to fulfill organizations’ needs. For this purpose, BPM systems are largely used nowadays. However, most process models are started from scratch, not having reuse promoted. Sometimes, large enterprises have the same business process implemented in a variety of ways due to differences in their departmental cultures or environments, even when using a unique integrated system. Additionally, although technology plays an important role in actually improving organizations, the human factor is still fundamental, since any improvement attempt goes through cultural changes. In this chapter, a peer-to-peer (P2P) tool is proposed as a way to cooperatively develop business processes models, minimizing the time needed to develop such models, reducing the differences among similar processes conducted in distinct organizational units, enhancing the quality of models, promoting reuse, and distributing knowledge.

Introduction. Contemporary market realia urge companies towards a transition from functional to process-based management, with processes as the key object of control. Effective business process management enables organizations to reduce costs and increase profitability. In case the management vector is shifted towards a company’s business process development, that involves constant monitoring and optimization, it will also contribute to gaining long-term sustainable competitive advantage. Since modern business environment is intrinsically inseparable from scientific information and intellectual attainments and their implementation results (information technology), management of business process development must be supplemented by powerful information support.The research objective is to provide deeper insights into conceptual framework and structural components of the information support system to facilitate enterprise business process development management as well as to identify the key factors to be considered when designing information software.Research methods. The following methods were used within the current study: comparison, systematic approach, analysis, modeling, synthesis and analytical framework.Findings. Modern approaches to building information support framework for an enterprise as a whole. The importance to provide a description of business processes is argued to design an effective information support system for business processes and their development management mechanism. An author’s original model of information support structure for business process management has been suggested.Conclusions. Complete and accurate information support for business processes is critical to ensure their effective operation. The information support for ensuring business process development management mechanism encompasses the formation and subsequent functioning of the overall system which includes information resources, information technology, software, and corresponding personnel, with following up further division by information support subsystems for providing in-depth analysis and ease of convenience, i.e. the information platform of the of business process development management mechanism.

The concept of Green Information Technology (Green IT) has been widely discussed in recent times, but the question of how a firm can afford to implement Green IT in both IT and other business operations has yet to be examined. In addition, the question of whether Green IT has made any significant contributions towards competitive advantage in organizations has not yet been studied. This study attempts to bridge this gap by viewing Green IT capability from the lens of Natural Resource-Based View. The two constructs derived from this theory, namely, as pollution prevention and product stewardship are discussed in this paper. Its application is extended into the IT context with reference to Green IT literature. This occurs among an early review of the utilisation of these constructs particularly for Green IT process management. The implications of the outcome of this study, both for the IS researchers and for the practicing managers, are discussed.
