Managers and HR professionals are always concerned with the engagement of employees at workplace. Using attitude theory this study aims to examine the connection between employee engagement with job fit, psychological climate, leadership style and affective commitment. A sample of 284 employees out of 365 participants was chosen from two pharmaceutical companies based in Karachi. SPSS was used to analyze the data and different statistical tool were applied. The results of the study showed that the independent variables, i.e. job fit, psychological climate, leadership style and affective commitment have a significant and positive influence on employee engagement. All the hypotheses were failed to reject. This study can help HR professionals in designing the strategy for retention and engagement. The results which are presented in this study can help organizations to identify the potential reasons for engagement which leads to high productivity and profitability

This study grounds on the contemporary concern towards sustainability, reviewing literature to ascertain the personality traits of current leaders, framing them under the most effective leadership style in order to leverage organizational green consciousness and performance. It provides insights on the multilevel social dynamics outlining individual citizenship behaviors at work, as it advances that organizations shall rely on green transformational leadership to enhance the workforce green cognitions and behaviors, providing workplace opportunities to engage in environmental management related activities, thus leveraging green consciousness and performance. Hence, this study maps the current leader's personality traits so that their leadership paradigm may be best captured in terms of the value congruence between leaders/followers, solidifying a green psychological climate at the organization, impacting on its psychological capital and ownership, reconfiguring the organizational psychological contract by defining it as a collaborative learning process.

This paper analyzes the representations of the major educational process participants (students, teachers and representatives of the school administration) concerning the various elements of the socio-psychological situation in the educational institution. We assumed that the substantive characteristics of socio-psychological situation are reflected in the representations of the major participants of the educational process, which can help to define the degree of homogeneity of representations in students and teachers, as well as the uniqueness of socio-psychological situation in an educational institution. We describe the progress and the results of research conducted in Moscow on the basis of state educational institutions of various profiles (gymnasium with intensive study of English secondary school with ethno-cultural component), which was attended by 308 people, 235 of whom were students, and 73 were teachers and representatives of the school administration. We reveal the features of representation of different participants of the educational process about such elements of socio-psychological situation as leadership style, the type of organizational culture and the parameters of social and psychological climate in the educational institution. We describe significant differences in the expression of the elements of social and psychological situation in educational institutions of various types.

Introduction. The dependence of autonomous motivation of teachers on the principal’s leadership style was previously considered on the basis of the concept of transformational leadership by B. Bass, whereas its relationship with the styles described in the concept of K. Levin is understudied. The mediators of relations between leadership styles and teachers’ motivation are not sufficiently studied. According to the self-determination theory, such mediators can include psychological climate.Aim. The aim of the current research was to develop an integrative concept of leadership styles by K. Lewin and the theory of self-determination by E. Deci and R. Ryan model of dependence of teachers’ professional motivation and work engagement on the principal’s leadership styles. An additional task was to analyse the mediating role of the psychological climate of the school staff.Methodology and research methods. The correlational research was realised with the sample comprising 238 secondary school teachers in Biysk. The participants answered the Professional Motivation Questionnaire, Utrecht Work Engagement Scale, Style of Leadership Questionnaire and Group Atmosphere Scale. During processing of obtained data the authors used correlation analysis, t-tests for comparison of means and structural equation modelling.Results. The elaborated structural model demonstrates that the democratic leadership style of the school principal is positively related to the autonomous motivation of teachers directly and indirectly through the psychological climate. The principal’s liberal leadership style is inversely related to teachers’ work engagement. In terms of self-determination theory, these results reflect different opportunities to meet the basic psychological needs of employees in teams with different psychological climate and principal’s leadership style.Scientific novelty includes elaborated model describing the relationship of principals’ leadership styles according to K. Lewin’s typology with autonomous motivation and work engagement of teachers. The revealed effect of partial mediation of relations between democratic leadership style and autonomous motivation of teachers through psychological climate clarifies the ideas about the system of socio-psychological factors of professional motivation.Practical significance consists in usage of the results for improvement of psychological training of principals, optimisation of their leadership style for creating better psychological atmosphere and support for teachers’ productive motivation.
