A hidden ceiling-fan is the new design of embedding and hiding itself deeply into the ceiling floor. This design is different from conventional ceiling-fans or circulating fans that usually without an enclosing housing. The majority part of hidden ceiling-fan is embedded in the ceiling floor; hence the enclosing housing will be needed and be created to surround the axial-flow fan. The housing geometric is critical factor for hidden ceiling-fan because the air flow will pass though the horizontal plane of ceiling floor which the inlet and outlet are almost located at same plane. Consequently, the inappropriate design of enclosing housing will cause inhale-return phenomenon. It affects the induced flow performance of a hidden ceiling-fan. Few studies have investigated fan induced flow and its characteristics in a selected space. In this study, computational fluid dynamic (CFD) numerical simulation and experimental investigation were used to predict and valid the flow pattern with different geometric housing and operating conditions. The results showed that the flow pattern has different features as it leaves the fan downward the floor. The unique inhale-return phenomenon probably happens when inappropriate enclosing housing was designed such as high ring-plate and outlet-inlet ratio. Furthermore, the blockage effect will happen if the blockage distance is to short. In conclusion, thissystematic design investigation on hidden ceiling-fan not only provides the fan engineer’s design ability to avoid the inhale-return phenomenon, but also the predicting capability on the air flow induced characteristics and performance.

It is believed by the authors, with supporting experimental evidence, that as little as 0.5°, or less, knife clearance angle may be a critical factor in obtaining optimum quality ultrathin sections. The degree increments located on the knife holder provides the investigator with only a crude approximation of the angle at which the holder is set. With the increments displayed on the holder one cannot set the clearance angle precisely and reproducibly. The ability to routinely set this angle precisely and without difficulty would obviously be of great assistance to the operator. A device has been contrived to aid the investigator in precisely setting the clearance angle. This device is relatively simple and is easily constructed. It consists of a light source and an optically flat, front surfaced mirror with a minute black spot in the center. The mirror is affixed to the knife by placing it permanently on top of the knife holder.

Proper irrigation management is critical to conserve and protect water resources and to properly manage nutrients in the home landscape. How lawns and landscapes are irrigated directly impacts the natural environment, so landscape maintenance professionals and homeowners must adopt environmentally-friendly approaches to irrigation management. After selecting the right plant for the right place, water is the next critical factor to establish and maintain a healthy lawn and landscape. Fertilization is another important component of lawn and landscape maintenance, and irrigation must be applied correctly, especially following fertilization, to minimize potential nutrient losses. This publication supplements other UF/IFAS Extension publications that also include information on the role of soil and the root zone in irrigation management. This publication is designed to help UF/IFAS Extension county agents prepare materials to directly address nutrient losses from lawns and landscapes caused by inadequate irrigation management practices. periodically in preparing learning plans, implementing learning, assessing learning achievement, carrying out follow-up assessments of student learning achievement that can improve teacher performance. This performance improvement is through periodic collaborative educational supervision. Based on the results of educational supervision in cycle I and cycle II, teacher performance increased, namely in cycle I, teacher performance in preparing learning plans in cycle I reached 71.98%, while cycle II was 92.44%. Teacher performance in implementing learning cycle I reached 72.44% while cycle II reached 93.81%. Teacher performance in assessing learning achievement in cycle Im reached 81.30% while cycle II was 90.56%. Teacher performance in carrying out follow-up assessments of student learning achievement in the first cycle reached 59.76% while the second cycle was 83.00%. Thus, the average action cycle II was above 75.00%. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the teacher's performance has increased in preparing learning plans, implementing learning, assessing learning achievement, carrying out follow-up assessments of student learning achievement.
