Abstract Background Erenumab, the first-in-class fully human monoclonal antibody targeting the calcitonin gene-related peptide receptor, was shown to be efficacious and safe for the prophylactic treatment of migraine in adults in randomized clinical trials. Large-scale, real-world evidence in multi-centre settings is still needed to confirm these results. Erenumab patient profiles outside clinical trials and physicians’ treatment patterns, as well as data from patients treated in Germany, a severely impacted population, are not published yet. Methods TELESCOPE was a multi-centre survey gathering real-world data from 45 German headache centres between July 2019 and December 2019. The project consisted of two parts. In the first part, treating physicians shared their experiences on current erenumab treatment with regard to patient profiles, treatment patterns and treatment responses. In the second part, a retrospective chart review was conducted of 542 migraine patients treated with erenumab for at least three months. Treatment responses focused on various aspects of patients’ quality of life. Results The analysis of 542 patients’ charts revealed that three-month treatment with erenumab significantly reduced monthly headaches, migraine and acute medication days. Furthermore, headache intensity and frequency were reduced in over 75 % and accompanying aura in 35 % of patients. The clinical global impression scale revealed a general improvement in 91 % of patients. According to the treating physicians’ professional judgement, 83 % of patients responded to erenumab and 80 % were satisfied with the treatment. Physicians evaluated restricted quality of life, the number of monthly migraine days and previous, prophylactic treatments as the main components of the current patient profile for monoclonal antibody recipients. Based on the assessment of physicians, erenumab reduced migraine symptoms in 65 % and increased quality of life in more than 75 % of their patients. Conclusions TELESCOPE confirms positive treatment responses with erenumab shown in clinical trials in a real-world multi-centre setting. The results show consistently positive experiences of physicians utilizing erenumab in clinical practice and underline that therapy with this monoclonal antibody is effective in migraine patients, particular in those, who have failed several prophylactic therapies.

Breast-conserving treatment was established as an oncologically safe procedure for breast cancer. However, the cosmetic outcomes of breast-conserving treatments are often unsatisfactory. In this scenario, oncoplastic breast-conserving surgery incorporated plastic surgery concepts and techniques into the oncological treatment in order to ensure better cosmesis, thus increasing the indications for breast-conserving treatment. At the same time, oncoplastic breast-conserving surgery is usually presented as a generic term, which should be evaluated taking many aspects into account: indication, patient selection, the surgery itself, cosmetic quality, and quality of life — data that are still scarce in the literature.

This study was conducted to determine the relationship between problems regarding mothers’ own care in the postpartum period and baby care, and quality of life. Sample size of the study conducted in descriptive type was found to be 176. Mothers consulting Family Health Centers (FHC) in the 4-6 weeks postpartum were taken in the sample group in the province of Konya. To collect data, a 21-item questionnaire formed by the researcher and Maternal Postpartum Quality of Life Questionnaire (MAPP-QOL) were used. The mean scale of the mothers’ (MAPP-QOL) was lower among those who experienced trouble bathing, among those who experienced trouble nourishing, among those who experienced trouble dealing with emotionality, among those who experienced trouble in the care of the perineum, among those who experienced trouble in breast care, among those who experienced trouble breastfeeding, and among those who experienced trouble in the care of other children than the ones who did not experience any trouble. The difference between mothers’ having trouble or not in their own self-care in the postpartum period and MAPP-QOL mean scores was found statistically significant (p<0.05).MAPP-QOL mean scores of mothers was determined lower among those who experienced trouble in their baby’s sucking, among those who experienced trouble in their baby’s sleeping, among those who experienced trouble in their baby’s among those who experienced trouble in their baby’s umbilical cord care, among those who experienced trouble in their baby’s gas pain, among those who experienced trouble in their baby’s skin care and dressing, among those who experienced trouble in their baby’s following of the vaccination than among those who did not experience trouble. The difference between mothers’ having trouble or not in baby care in the postpartum period and MAPP-QOL mean scores was found statistically significant (p<0.05). It was seen that the quality of life score of mothers not experiencing trouble in baby care was higher. It was indicated that mothers encountered many troubles in their own care and infant care in the postpartum period, and so those troubles experienced affected adversely the  quality of life of mothers in the postpartum period. When nursing care for the prevention of these factors includes appropriate support and training, both mother and baby’s health is protected and developed and compliance with the process of mother is facilitated, and it will raise the quality of life of mother in the postpartum period.

24 Background: The World Health Organization estimates 1.03 million new gastric cancer cases will be diagnosed in 2018. Globally, gastric cancer is the 5th most common cancer and the 3rd most common cause of cancer death. Our study explores the gastric cancer survivorship experience throughout the care continuum. Methods: The Ruesch Center for the Cure of Gastrointestinal Cancers and the GI Cancers Alliance developed a global gastric cancer advocacy initiative (December 2017) to better understand the patient experience. As convener, we facilitated numerous meetings with international advocacy organizations; healthcare professionals; patients and caregivers to gain a global perspective. Based on our goal to help improve patient outcomes, our initiative included analysis to support: efforts to increase earlier detection; provide access to best treatment protocols including clinical trials; enhanced patient education and patient-centered communication. A key element of our research began with a global patient survey, focus groups and interviews. Results: 521 gastric cancer patients (54% female 46% male) participated in the international survey (April-May 2018). 49% indicated a ‘poor’ quality of life; 91% indicated survivorship care gaps; 42% were Stage 4. North and South America, Europe, Asia, and Australia were represented. Follow-up interviews and focus groups (July-September 2018) provided valuable insight and a greater understanding of the patient profile. Conclusions: Additional educational and supportive services are needed to meet patient unmet needs. We will continue providing key stakeholder platforms to address patient concerns; create meaningful and relevant patient education; continue outreach leading to increased patient empowerment; convene and work with global partners improving patient quality of life to ultimately achieve better patient outcomes.
