Energy prosumer participates in the balance of the energy system actively through their production and consumption of energy and will become a major participant in the open energy market increasingly in the future. This paper used the bibliometric method to sort out 1251 literature data related to energy prosumer in the “Web of Science Core Collection” and used the software named CiteSpace to perform statistics and cooccurrence analysis. The research found the following: (a) journals in the field of prosumer have their emphasis on theory, application, policy, and modeling; (b) the United States and European institutions have published the articles most, and the academic influence of Chinese scholars needs to be further improved; (c) the focus of the prosumers’ research in the past decade has turned the energy system designing to the market transaction research; (d) P2P, P2G, and prosumer community are three market models that have attracted attention for scholars; besides, self-consumption, market matching, district heating, aggregators, and household energy management systems are also the current research hotspots; (e) digital technologies such as big data, the Internet of Things, and blockchain have a significant impact on the prosumer participating in energy market transactions, which will change the existing energy supply chain model profoundly. In the context of the energy Internet, energy trading platforms, digital ecosystems, cross-border innovation, and other fields will become the hotspots in future research on prosumer.

Abstract Background Sanitation issues have aroused widespread concern around the world, and scholars began research in this area as early as the 1920s. After decades of development, there is a great amount of research on this topic, and the body of research continues to grow rapidly. Methods Based on the Web of Science Core Collection databases from 1990–2019, this paper applies the bibliometric method to analyze the research characteristics and developments of scientific publications about sanitation. Visualized knowledge mapping is employed to investigate development status, scientific collaboration, involved disciplines, research hotspots and emerging trends of this field. Results The breadth and depth of sanitation studies has improved significantly as the number of related publications increases rapidly in the 21st century. The strength of developed countries is greater than that of developing countries; the comprehensive strength of the United States ranks first in the field, followed by England and Switzerland. This field is a highly interdisciplinary field that covers a wide range of interests, and institutional collaboration is increasing in this field. Keyword clustering analysis shows that the main research topics in the domain of sanitation could be summarized as: (a) drinking water; (b) sustainability; (c) biofilm; (d) epidemiology; and (e) WaSH. Meanwhile, keyword bursts analysis showed that the new research hotspots and research frontiers mainly concentrated on: (a) Sustainable development of sanitation services adapting to climate change; (b) Main determinants affecting child malnutrition; (c) Multinational research and model innovation; and (d) Evaluations on various aspects of performance. Conclusions Through in-depth analysis of sanitation research, this paper provides a better understanding of trends that have emerged over the past 30 years, and can serve as a reference for future research.

Background: Approximately 50% of cataracts are associated with genetic factors. Genetic etiology and molecular mechanisms based on gene research increase the understanding of cataracts and provide direction for diagnosis and intervention. In the present study, SCIE papers related to the modeling of cataract gene research from 2010–2019 were evaluated and qualitative and quantitative analyses with modeling performed.Methods: The SCIE database was searched on July 6, 2021 for cataract gene publications and relevant papers published since 2010 were considered for review. Subsequently, 1,904 SCIE papers associated with cataract genes from 2010–2019 were analyzed using a bibliometric method. The publication, country, institution, journal, references, knowledgebase, keywords, and research hotspots of the papers were analyzed using an online analysis platform of literature metrology, bibliographic item co-occurrence matrix builder (BICOMB), CiteSpace V, and VOS viewer analysis tool.Results: 78 countries published the related articles, and the United States ranks of America had the most publications. Two thousand seven hundred and eighty three institutions contributed to the related publications. Fudan University had the most publications. The reference clusters of SCI papers were clustered into six categories, namely, causing congenital cataract-microcornea syndrome, functional snp, cataractous lenses, a1 mutation, foxe3 mutation, cell adhesion gene pvrl3, nid1 gene. The key words representing the research frontiers were cerebrotendinous xanthomatosis (2017-2019), oxidative stress (2017–2019).Conclusion: This study provided a systematic, objective and comprehensive analysis of the literature related to gene research of cataract. Moreover, this study demonstrated the current hotspots and the future trends in the field of gene research of cataract. This review will help ophthalmologist to discern the dynamic evolution of cataract gene research, as well as highlight areas for future research.

Abstract Background: Pain is commonly associated with psychological variables, such as anxiety and depression. However, only a few studies statistically analyzed the global trends and conducted a review through the bibliometric method. Purpose: This work aimed to analyze the general aspects of scientific studies worldwide on the comorbid of anxiety and pain research between 2000 and 2019. Methods: Published papers on the comorbid of anxiety and pain from the last 2 decades were retrieved from the Web of Science core collection. To assess whether the percentage statistically decreased or increased over time by using IBM SPSS Statistics 22.0. Results: A total of 1,329 papers met the inclusion criteria. The trend of annual publications presented a significant growth from 2000 to 2019 (P<0.001) by linear regression analysis. Clinical Neurology, Neurosciences, and Anesthesiology of subject categories had superior quality and were recognized as mainstream on comorbid anxiety and pain research. The United States (416, 30.85%) and the University of Washington (23, 1.73%) were the most prolific and high-quality country and institution, respectively. Postoperative pain (11.81%) and headache (11.14%) were the hottest topic among researchers. Music, distraction, adult, dental anxiety, and preoperative anxiety were emerging hotspots and could be regarded as research frontiers. Conclusions: Bibliometric analysis of the comorbidity of anxiety and pain and provides insights into research countries, institutions, authors, and core journal, visual, hot topics, overall tendency, and research frontiers that will aid in exploring hidden valuable field for future research.

This paper identifies the spatial and temporal distribution characteristics, research hotspots, research frontiers and knowledge base of green development research by using the bibliometric method, mapping knowledge domains and spatial analysis method, and through making a comparison of green development research between China and foreign. The main conclusions are as follows: (1) The number of research literature on green development in China and aboard both show a trend of increasing year by year, and the gap of annual volume evolve a M-shaped trend compared with international scholars. The United States and China are both major countries in green development research, and their international academic cooperation is relatively close. Moreover, the main research findings are concentrated in the northern hemisphere while there is less distribution in the southern hemisphere, and the eastern and western hemispheres are distributed widely. (2) The research hotspots of China’s green development mainly include development concepts, regional and urban development and ecological environment while international green development mainly include green economy, framework, city and supply chain management. (3) The frontiers of China’s green development research are focused on coordinated development, ecological environment and green development concepts while international green development research are more abundant. (4) The knowledge base of the research includes Manuscript of Economics and Philosophy in 1844, the concept of sustainable development and the theory of two mountains.

Corporate governance is not only one of the important issues of modern enterprise management, but also a hot topic in academic research. Bibliometric analysis of the current status of global corporate governance research in the past five years can help researchers and decision-makers grasp the main trends in corporate governance at present and in the future. The purpose of this research is to analyze the current status, hot spots and trends of corporate governance research in the past five years. Using the core collection of the WOS database as the data source, we searched English language journals related to corporate governance and obtained 607 literature search results. We utilize bibliometric methods and use CiteSpace to conduct statistical analysis and visual analysis. Through statistical literature publication year, country (region), author and literature citation situation, draw keyword co-occurrence map, research hotspot map, clustering map, burst hotspot map, systematically show the corporate governance research field in the past 5 years Basic information, research hotspots and development trends.The research results show that the number of corporate governance-related documents has continued to increase in the past five years. The United States, the United Kingdom, China, Spain, and Australia are the five countries with the largest number of corporate governance studies. The top 5 most cited authors are M.C. Jensen, A. Shleifer, E.F. Fama, R.La. Porta and P. Gompers. Among the top 10 most cited documents, the most cited are 178 words and the least cited 65 times. Research hotspots in corporate governance include agency theory, emerging market, capital structure, family firms, and real earnings management. Future research trends include merger, ownership concentration, equity and institution.

Spinal stenosis is a common disease affecting the elderly that is present in a various forms. Its high incidence forces researchers to pay more attention and offer countermeasures. We used the Web of Science Core collection and PubMed database to obtain 5,606 scientific studies concerning spinal stenosis, and the number of publications maintained a roughly increasing trend from 108 in 2000 to 512 in 2018, only declining in 2011. Bibliometric analysis was conducted using the online analysis software CiteSpace and Bibliographic Item Co-Occurrence Matrix Builder (BICOMB). The United States maintains academic leadership in this field. The journal SPINE was the most authoritative, with 695 articles and an average of 12.73 citations. The exported major MeSH terms were further biclustered with gCLUTO according to co-word analysis to reveal research hotspots, including etiology, pathogenesis, clinical manifestation, conservative treatment, operative indication, internal implantation, and postoperative complications. After combination, the main topics focused on pathogenesis and surgical treatment. Narrowing causes flavum ligamentum hypertrophy, and posterior longitudinal ligament ossification is widely accepted. Additionally, minimally invasive surgery and internal implantation fixation are more valid in the clinic. Refining pathological classification and optimizing surgical methods and instrument properties will be important future research directions for spinal stenosis.

Background: Bibliometric analysis can analyze development trends and predict research hotspots. We used these analyses to better understand pregnancy-related implications of thyroid diseases. Methods: Publications on thyroid diseases during pregnancy from 1926 to hitherto were retrieved based on the Web of Science database. The publications and references, the institutions and countries, the journals, the keywords and citations, were analyzed by utilizing VOSviewer, CiteSpace and Cit-NetExplorer. Results: A total of 3310 publications were retrieved and were cited 87913 times. The United States took the dominant position in outputs and collaborations. Harvard University had the most articles 86, which also had the highest h-index 30. Thyroid ranked first with 201 publications and Journal of Clinical Endocrinology Metabolism had the highest h-index 67. Among the 49 burst keywords, "antibody" had the longest burst period from 1991 to 2012, "thyroxine" had the strongest burst strength 16.7026, "hypothyroxinemia" appeared most recently in 2018. The most frequent keyword was "pregnancy" occurred 1324 times. All the top 98 frequent keywords were clustered into 4 clusters. The citation network visualization was grouped into 8 groups. Conclusion: The research focus of thyroid diseases in pregnancy ranged from clinical thyroid dysfunction to milder thyroid dysfunction. Guidelines published by the American Thyroid Association enacted a crucial purpose in the treatment and development of thyroid diseases during pregnancy. Some randomized controlled studies of unresolved problems and long-term follow-up of offspring may be the direction of future research. In the meantime, bibliometric methods can help scholars choose journals, track research hotspots, and identify the direction or focus of future research.

Abstract Background: Pancreatic cancer (PC) is a serious disease with high mortality. The tumor microenvironment plays a key role in the occurrence and development of PC. The purpose of this study is to analyze the trends by year, country, institution, journal, and keywords in publications on the PC microenvironment and to predict the future hotspots.Methods: The Web of Science Core Collection was used to search for and download publications. We analyzed the contributions of various countries/regions, institutes, and authors and discerned the research hotspots and promising future trends by using the CiteSpace and VOSviewer programs. We also summarized relevant completed clinical trials.Results: A total of 1,766 papers on the PC microenvironment published between 2010 and 2020 were included in the study. The average number of citations per article was 28.7. The United States had the most publications, followed by China, and a total of five influential articles were identified through co-citation analysis. Clustering analysis revealed three clusters of keywords: carcinogenesis of PC, stroma of PC, and therapy of PC. The research hotspots included cancer-associated fibroblasts, exosomes, FOLFIRINOX [FOL – folinic acid (also called leucovorin, calcium folinate, or FA), F – fluorouracil (also called 5-FU), Irin – irinotecan, Ox – oxaliplatin], and immunotherapy.Conclusion: The number of publications and the research enthusiasm generally showed an upward trend, and the United States has made prominent contributions to the field of the tumor microenvironment of PC. The current research hotspots are mainly cancer-associated fibroblasts, exosomes, and the treatment of pancreatic cancer, which might be the directions of future research.

As demand for electricity in the United States continues to increase, it is necessary to explore the means through which the modern power supply system can accommodate both increasing affluence (which is accompanied by increased per-capita consumption) and the continually growing global population. Though there has been a great deal of research into the theoretical optimization of large-scale power systems, research into the use of an existing power system as a foundation for this growth has yet to be fully explored. Current successful and robust power generation systems that have significant renewable energy penetration — despite not having been optimized a priori — can be used to inform the advancement of modern power systems to accommodate the increasing demand for electricity. Leveraging ongoing research projects at Oregon State University and the National Energy Technology Laboratory, this work explores how an accurate and state-of-the-art computational model of the Oregon/Washington (OR/WA) energy system can be employed as part of an overarching power systems optimization scheme that looks to inform the decision making process for next generation power supply systems. Research scenarios that explore an introductory multi-objective power flow analysis for the OR/WA grid will be shown, along with a discussion of future research directions.

Background: Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic disabling disease characterized by chronic inflammation, articular cartilage destruction, and reduced bone mass. Multiple studies have revealed that the development of osteoporosis in rheumatoid arthritis (RA; ORA) patients could be led to a reduced quality of life and increased healthcare costs. Nevertheless, no attempt has been made to analyze the field of ORA research with the bibliometric method. This study aimed to provide a comprehensive overview of the knowledge structure and theme trends in the field of ORA research from a bibliometric perspective.Methods: Articles and reviews regarding ORA from 1998 to 2021 were identified from the Web of Science database. An online bibliometric platform, CiteSpace, and VOSviewer software were used to generate visualization knowledge maps including co-authorship, co-citation, and co-occurrence analysis. SPSS, R, and Microsoft Excel software were used to conduct curve fitting and correlation analysis, and to analyze quantitative indicators, such as publication and citation counts, h-index, and journal citation reports.Results: A total of 1,081 papers with 28,473 citations were identified. Publications were mainly concentrated in North America, Western Europe, and Eastern Asia. Economic strength is an important factor affecting scientific output. The United States contributed the most publications (213) with the highest h-index value (46) as of September 14, 2021. Diakonhjemmet Hospital and professor Haugeberg G were the most prolific institution and influential authors, respectively. Journal of Rheumatology was the most productive journal concerning ORA research. According to the burst references, “anti-citrullinated protein antibodies” and “preventing joint destruction” have been recognized as the hot research issues in the domain. The keywords co-occurrence analysis identified “teriparatide,” “interleukin-6,” “Wnt,” and “vertebral fractures” as the important future research directions.Conclusion: This was the first bibliometric study comprehensively summarizing the trends and development of ORA research. Our findings could offer practical sources for scholars to understand the key information in this field, and identify the potential research frontiers and hot directions in the near future.
