The agglomeration health output effect of the medical service industry in the era of big data is an important part of the agglomeration innovation of medical resources. This paper used the regression model of data mining to set up the fixed effect model and system GMM model to study the relationship between the agglomeration of medical service industry and resident’s health level, based on the panel data of 31 provinces of China from 2003 to 2017. The results show that the health outcome of the medical industrial agglomeration is positive and different in provinces. The influence of medical service cluster on residents’ health level in the eastern region fails the significance test, while the medical service cluster in the central and western regions can significantly improve residents’ health level. And, this effect is also related to the characteristics of medical resources, economic development, demographic characteristics, and other heterogeneous factors. On this basis, the paper puts forward policy suggestions to promote the market structure of the medical industry from the aspects of strengthening synergies and policy guidance.

The agglomeration of the tourism industry has important effects on its efficiency. This article used panel data on the Chinese provincial tourism industry for the 2011–2016 period, applied the location quotient index and three-stage data envelopment analysis method to, respectively, measure the degree of agglomeration and efficiency, and explained the impact of agglomeration on tourism efficiency. The empirical results of this study indicate the following. (1) China’s tourism industry shows a trend towards agglomeration, revealing gradient differences where the highest degree of agglomeration is in the eastern region, followed by the western and central regions. (2) After eliminating random and environmental factors, the adjusted efficiencies are lower than the unadjusted efficiencies. The average overall tourism efficiency is higher in the eastern region than in the central and western regions. (3) From the national perspective, industrial agglomeration can significantly improve the overall efficiency (TE), pure technical efficiency (PTE), and scale efficiency of the tourism industry. (4) Based on regional analysis, the agglomeration of the eastern tourism industry can significantly enhance its TE and PTE. Agglomeration for the western area has a significant positive impact on PTE. There is no significant relationship between agglomeration and efficiency in the central region.

India’s medical service industry is an emerging force in Southeast Asia, which should be recognized. A large portion of the country’s GDP is being earned through this sector. Paradoxically, India’s rural sphere has always been highly deprived of medical facilities even in rudimentary level. This huge imbalance was previously an issue for India to reach to a footing through innovation. India still being a developing country has majority of people living in rural areas where quality healthcare is not only difficult to avail but sometimes even hard to access. In such circumstances, an initiative like Lifeline Express (LLE) has provided the people with access to quality healthcare which has been crucially needed. It is a very simple idea but incredibly complex in terms of execution throughout the whole region. The LLE is a hospital which moves throughout rural India in a form of a fully equipped train. Since 1991, this initiative in India has generated some commendable projects through which it has served many rural Indians. Through this case, it will be comprehensible of how the train and the medical team function and will show the limitations and challenges healthcare in India is facing and how LLE has proved its fantastic ability to fight with the constraints and make healthcare reach the doorsteps of the rural people. Despite the challenges and limitations, it is also been revealed how the journey of LLE has grown from a three-coach train to seven-coach train where patients get treatment of many diseases from the early 1990s to this day.

In this paper, we use the meta-frontier network DEA approach to evaluate the innovation efficiency of 30 provinces in China from 2009 to 2011. These provinces have been classified into two groups based on their levels of economic development. The first group comprises provinces in the Eastern region, while the second group comprises provinces in the Central and Western regions. First, we use the meta-frontier network DEA method to estimate the technology gaps of innovation efficiency between different operating types. Second, the quadrant analysis method explores the reasons for efficiency losses. Finally, we take the fixed effect model to examine whether industry–university–research cooperation influences technology efficiency. The empirical results indicate (i) the Eastern region has significantly higher innovation efficiency than the Central and Western regions. (ii) Some Eastern provinces have a high technology level, yet their resource allocation capabilities still need to be improved. (iii) Industry–university–research cooperation is an effective way to improve innovation performance.

The environment in health care organizations is becoming increasingly competitive. Therefore, to improve patient return rates, health care organizations need to examine how to enhance the physician-patient relationship. In particular, the role of patient gratitude on the physician-patient relationship in health care organizations is still ambiguous. The specific role of patient gratitude in the medical service industry needs to be identified. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate physician-patient interactions with reference to relationship marketing and to further understand the relationships among relationship quality, patient gratitude, and patient loyalty. The potential effects of patient gratitude on the physician-patient relationship were examined by testing mediation effect. The results demonstrated that patient gratitude had a notable effect on the association between relationship quality and patient loyalty. To improve the physician-patient relationship in the medical service industry, health care managements should not ignore the 3 relationship quality tactics perceived by patients, specially the role of the potential effect of patient gratitude on relational building.
