Iterative reconstruction (IR) algorithms based on the principle of optimization are known for producing better reconstructed images in computed tomography. In this paper, we present an IR algorithm based on minimizing a symmetrized Kullback-Leibler divergence (SKLD) that is called Jeffreys’ J-divergence. The SKLD with iterative steps is guaranteed to decrease in convergence monotonically using a continuous dynamical method for consistent inverse problems. Specifically, we construct an autonomous differential equation for which the proposed iterative formula gives a first-order numerical discretization and demonstrate the stability of a desired solution using Lyapunov’s theorem. We describe a hybrid Euler method combined with additive and multiplicative calculus for constructing an effective and robust discretization method, thereby enabling us to obtain an approximate solution to the differential equation. We performed experiments and found that the IR algorithm derived from the hybrid discretization achieved high performance.

Objectives. The article presents the conclusion of the resolving equation for calculating the stability of the flat form of deformation of prismatic beams, taking into account the rheological properties of the material.Method. The problem is reduced to a second-order differential equation for the twist angle, which is solved numerically by the finite difference method in combination with the Euler method.Result. The obtained differential equation allows one to take into account the presence of initial imperfections in the form of the initial deflection of the beam, the initial angle of twist, and also the eccentricity of the applied load. The solution of the test problem for a cantilever polymer beam under the action of a concentrated force is presented. The non-linear Maxwell-Gurevich equation is used as the creep law. The value of the long-term critical load is introduced and it is shown that with a load less than the long-term critical creep is limited. It has been established that, as with the squeezed rods, with a load less than the long-term critical, the growth rate of the displacements with time decays. When F = F_dl, the displacements grow at a constant speed, and when F> F_dl, the growth rate of displacements increases with time. The results obtained confirm the validity of the chosen method.Conclusion. A universal resolving equation is obtained for calculating the stability of a flat shape of bending of rectangular beams, suitable for arbitrary creep laws.

SummaryCase reports cited in Medline or Biological Abstracts (1966-1996) were reviewed to evaluate the impact of vitamin K1 dietary intake on the stability of anticoagulant control in patients using coumarin derivatives. Reported nutrient-drug interactions cannot always be explained by the vitamin K1 content of the food items. However, metabolic data indicate that a consistent dietary intake of vitamin K is important to attain a daily equilibrium in vitamin K status. We report a diet that provides a stable intake of vitamin K1, equivalent to the current U.S. Recommended Dietary Allowance, using food composition data derived from high-performance liquid chromatography. Inconsistencies in the published literature indicate that prospective clinical studies should be undertaken to clarify the putative dietary vitamin K1-coumarin interaction. The dietary guidelines reported here may be used in such studies.

Herein, an efficient algorithm is proposed to solve a one-dimensional hyperbolic partial differential equation. To reach an approximate solution, we employ the θ-weighted scheme to discretize the time interval into a finite number of time steps. In each step, we have a linear ordinary differential equation. Applying the Galerkin method based on interpolating scaling functions, we can solve this ODE. Therefore, in each time step, the solution can be found as a continuous function. Stability, consistency, and convergence of the proposed method are investigated. Several numerical examples are devoted to show the accuracy and efficiency of the method and guarantee the validity of the stability, consistency, and convergence analysis.

BACKGROUND: Warfarin potassium (Wf) commercial tablets originally formulated for adults are ground before administration to pediatric patients and elderly patients with dysphagia. OBJECTIVE: The present study investigated the effect of tablet grinding on the photostability of four types of commercial Wf tablets and predicted the photostability of the tablet powders by chemometric analysis. METHODS: The photodegradation of Wf content was evaluated by reversed-phase column high-performance liquid chromatography with ultraviolet (HPLC-UV). RESULTS: The bulk Wf powder was relatively photostable, whereas ground Wf tablets underwent substantial photodegradation. The photostability of the ground powders of a brand-name Wf commercial tablet and three generic Wf commercial tablets was quantitatively assessed and compared. In certain cases, the Wf in all the three ground generic tablets was less photostable than in the ground brand-name tablets. After 28 days of light irradiation, the Wf content decreased to 69.79% in the brand-name tablets, while it was 31.90% in some generic tablets. To clarify the factors influencing the relative photostability in various Wf formulations, we analyzed the intermolecular interactions between the active ingredient and the excipients by partial least-squares regression analysis based on photostability screening for each additive. CONCLUSION: The results suggested that the additives light anhydrous silicic acid and povidone adversely affect the stability of Wf tablets. In addition, the light stability of ground tablets was affected considerably by their formulation.

This paper introduces a novel sensorless model-predictive torque-flux control (MPTFC) for two-level inverter-fed induction motor (IM) drives to overcome the high torque ripples issue, which is evidently presented in model-predictive torque control (MPTC). The suggested control approach will be based on a novel modification for the adaptive full-order-observer (AFOO). Moreover, the motor is modeled considering core losses and a compensation term of core loss applied to the suggested observer. In order to mitigate the machine losses, particularly at low speed and light load operations, the loss minimization criterion (LMC) is suggested. A comprehensive comparative analysis between the performance of IM drive under conventional MPTC, and those of the proposed MPTFC approaches (without and with consideration of the LMC) has been carried out to confirm the efficiency of the proposed MPTFC drive. Based on MATLAB® and Simulink® from MathWorks® (2018a, Natick, MA 01760-2098 USA) simulation results, the suggested sensorless system can operate at very low speeds and has the better dynamic and steady-state performance. Moreover, a comparison in detail of MPTC and the proposed MPTFC techniques regarding torque, current, and fluxes ripples is performed. The stability of the modified adaptive closed-loop observer for speed, flux and parameters estimation methodology is proven for a wide range of speeds via Lyapunov’s theorem.

Representing surface tension by nonlinear relationship on temperature, the boundary value problem of linear stability differential equation on small perturbation is derived. Under the condition of the isothermal wall the effects of nonlinear surface tension on stability of heat transfer in saturated liquid film of different liquid low boiling point gases are investigated as wall temperature is varied.

Abstract Purpose Results of a study to determine the 90-day stability of dronabinol capsules stored under various temperature conditions are reported. Methods High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with ultraviolet (UV) detection was used to assess the stability of dronabinol capsules (synthetic delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol [Δ9-THC] mixed with high-grade sesame oil and other inactive ingredients and encapsulated as soft gelatin capsules) that were frozen, refrigerated, or kept at room temperature for three months. The dronabinol capsules remained in the original foil-sealed blister packs until preparation for HPLC–UV assessment. The primary endpoint was the percentage of the initial Δ9-THC concentration remaining at multiple designated time points. The secondary aim was to perform forced-degradation studies under acidic conditions to demonstrate that the HPLC–UV method used was stability indicating. Results The appearance of the dronabinol capsules remained unaltered during frozen, cold, or room-temperature storage. Regardless of storage condition, the percentage of the initial Δ9-THC content remaining was greater than 97% for all evaluated samples at all time points over the three-month study. These experimental data indicate that the product packaging and the sesame oil used to formulate dronabinol capsules efficiently protect Δ9-THC from oxidative degradation to cannabinol; this suggests that pharmacies can store dronabinol capsules in nonrefrigerated automated dispensing systems, with a capsule expiration date of 90 days after removal from the refrigerator. Conclusion Dronabinol capsules may be stored at room temperature in their original packaging for up to three months without compromising capsule appearance and with minimal reduction in Δ9-THC concentration.

High-speed permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) is more and more widely applied in high precision processing and high-performance machines. It is very important to research practical control strategy for the stability operation of the high-speed PMSM. The strategy of sensorless grey prediction fuzzy direct torque control (DTC) is proposed which is suitable for high-speed PMSM control system. The method of prediction fuzzy control based on DTC is used to gain the flux, torque and flux oriented angle through the prediction model of the motor parameters. The best control scheme is gained by fuzzy reasoning to overcome the lag on the system making the adjustment process stable and realizing accurate predictive control. Thereby, the dynamic response of the system, anti-disturbance capability and control accuracy can be improved.
