Over the last decade increase in capacity and the intensity of vehicular traffic has increased manifoldly, including heavy trucks, super singles, and higher tire pressures, resulting in significant increase of dynamic loads on the road surface which in turn lead to high quality requirements for bitumen in order to avoid premature wear and failure of asphalt concrete pavements. One of the possibilities to increase the quality of bitumen is to use special additives and modifiers that can provide a high adhesion to mineral filler and inhibit the aging and degradation processes in the asphalt coating. To achieve this, in the present study composite modifiers based on bisimidazolines derivatives were synthesized. The developed polyfunctional modifier (PFM) of complex action provides enhanced thermal stability, significantly improves the adhesion between bitumen binder and aggregates, and also improves the physical-mechanical properties of the asphalt concrete. Based on the test results it is recommended to use the synthesized samples of the PFM additive with complex action in asphalt mixtures for road paving.

At present our country highway asphalt pavement in use is becoming more and more common, but early rutting damage serious impact on the road of normal use. Through the huaihai highway pavement rutting investigations, research and experiment analysis, combining domestic and foreign research achievements of rutting, it is concluded that the rutting formation causes and prevention measures.

In connection with the sharp increase in the traffic flow, the problem of the durability of asphalt concrete pavements comes to the fore – their ability to maintain their properties within a certain period of time within certain limits. In many respects, the quality of future coverage is laid by the adaptability of the laying process, strict compliance with the requirements of project documentation and existing building codes and regulations (SNiP, GOST, ISO, etc.). However, the technology itself of the process of making asphalt concrete pavements is constantly evolving – new complexes are emerging, changes are being introduced to existing structures of machines for building coatings. Addition, reduction and combination of operations of the technological process, including, against the background of improving the quality and, as a result, the durability of the coating, reduce the complexity of the work performed, reduce the number of necessary staff – all of this has a positive effect on the economic component of construction, frees up additional funds. And, as you know, there is already enough evidence that the main factor hindering the development of the road network in the Russian Federation is, just the same, the need to spend huge budget funds (in 2016, about 30 billion rubles were allocated from the federal budget to repair existing roads due to their poor condition). In turn, the road-building industry, which is developing at a high pace, sets stringent requirements to ensure the required level of quality throughout the entire process, starting from the places of production of asphalt-concrete mixture (ABZ).

Transit stations are generally well known as nodes of spaces where percentage of people walking are relatively high. The issue is do more planning is actually given to create walkability. Creating walking led transit stations involves planning of walking distance, providing facilities like pathways, toilets, seating and lighting. On the other hand, creating walking led transit station for women uncover a new epitome. Walking becomes one of the most important forms of mobility for women in developing countries nowadays. Encouraging women to use public transportation is not just about another effort to promote the use of public transportation but also another great endeavour to reduce numbers of traffic on the road. This also means, creating an effort to control accidents rate, reducing carbon emission, improving health and eventually, developing the quality of life. Hence, in this paper, we sought first to find out the factors that motivate women to walk at transit stations in Malaysia. A questionnaire survey with 562 female user of Light Railway Transit (LRT) was conducted at LRT stations along Kelana Jaya Line. Both built and non-built environment characteristics, particularly distance, safety and facilities were found as factors that are consistently associated with women walkability. With these findings, the paper highlights the criteria  which are needed to create and make betterment of transit stations not just for women but also for walkability in general.

Steel production wastes (steel slags) are used more often in asphalt concrete pavements as a valuable replacement for natural aggregates, which are becoming increasingly rare. In this paper authors investigate the polishing characteristics of aggregates, and in particular of steel slags, used in bituminous road surfacing, are a major factor in determining the resistance to skidding. The main purpose of the study is the identification of a suitable degradation model, based on friction indicators, in the laboratory, as well as the comparison of in-situ pavement skid resistance with the cumulative number of passing vehicles over the years. The model predicts the expected resistance to skidding of the road surface based on the knowledge of the polished stone value (PSV) of the aggregates and the expected traffic on the road. In this study, several types of aggregates were compared: steel slag, limestone, limestone and slag mixture, diabase, Criggion stone and basalt. Using a standard PSV test, it was found that the aggregates did not reach the lower value of skid resistance (equilibrium value). The analysis of the British Portable Number (BPN) data versus polishing time allowed to empirically derive a regression model for each investigated aggregate. Hence, it appears possible to define both an investigatory level and threshold level to predict the actual residual life of the pavement from the examination of skid resistance.

High-type roads in Tanzania have been predominantly of asphaltic concrete construction. This ever enlarging and ageing asphaltic road network represents increasing resource requirements on the road agency in the form of maintenance. Limited resources coupled with the ever sky-rocketing costs of petroleum products and the competing demands of social economic developments, presupposes the need to look for alternative road construction technology that is more cost-effective and resource optimising. Experience gained from developed and some developing countries where concrete pavements have been widely used suggests the potential of this type of pavement in many developingcountries. This paper discusses the technical aspects of design and construction- and maintenance-related aspects of concrete pavements. The discussion extends further to highlight issues pertaining to the performance of concrete pavements and strategies for promoting the use of concrete pavements in Tanzania. Conclusions and recommendationsare made with suggestions on how to start implementing the proposed strategies.

The quality of implementation, drainage, materials that do not meet the standards, and overloaded from the specified class of roads are the main causes of road damage. Thus violations and negligence both in the implementation or maintenance of the road can cause a lot of traffic accidents, damage to vehicles, and various things that can disrupt the comfort and safety of drivers or pedestrians. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of polypropylene plastic as an additive in the Asphalt Concrete-Wearing Course (AC-WC) layer. The use of polypropylene waste used as an additive is around 2.5%; 3.5%; 4.5%; and 5.5% of the asphalt weight. Based on the results of the analysis it was concluded that the mixture of AC-WC with the addition of polypropylene plastic experienced increased stability and decreased melting. Polypropylene plastic which can be used based on the five Marshall test parameters with the highest value of stability and lowest melting is 4.5% of the weight of asphalt.

6G of mobile networks plays a crucial role in improving the capacity and enhancing the quality of services of Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) based networks evolving in an intelligent environment. VANET is a promising project in the intelligent transportation field using V2X communications. The emergence of several 5G and 6G technologies has raised several challenges for scientists and researchers to allow vehicles and road users to enjoy several services while ensuring their safety on the road. Among these technologies, the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), which can perform different tasks for road users and vehicle drivers such as data caching, packet relaying and processing. In this article, we present a new approach based on 6G Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) technology on a vehicular cloud architecture while exploiting the exchange support of information-centric networking (ICN) for the improvement of network capacity.
