The rare semileptonic Bc→Ds,dl+l- decays are studied in the universal extra dimension with a single extra dimension scenario. The sensitivity of differential and total branching ratios and polarization asymmetries of final state leptons to the compactification parameter are presented, for both muon and tau decay channels. Considering the ability of available experiments, it would be useful to study these effects.

Universal extra dimension (UED) models with right-handed neutrinos are studied. The introduction of the neutrinos makes us possible not only to describe Dirac neutrino masses but also to solve the cosmological problem called the KK graviton problem. This problem is essentially caused by the late time decay of a KK photon into a KK graviton and a photon, and it distorts the spectrum of the cosmic microwave background or the diffuse photon. We point out that, once we introduce right-handed neutrinos to UED models, the KK photon decays dominantly into neutrinos and does not emit a photon. We also discuss sub-dominant modes with a photon in the decay quantitatively, and show that their branching ratios are so small that the spectra are not distorted.

Four α-particles as a final state of 16O* quasi-projectile decayproduced in peripheral 16O+12C reactions at 130 MeV is thoroughly studied. The differentdecay channels leading to the four α-particles final state are reconstructed by carrying out an event-by-event analysis of α correlations in the population of intermediate 8Be and 12C. Although small, a non negligible contribution due to 8Begs evaporation is found.A comparison between predictions of an accurate Hauser-Feshbach decay code and branching ratios of the different decay channels is performed. Significant deviations are observed, among these the Hoyle state population which is considerably lower than the one predicted according to the statistical model, thus suggesting possible structure effects in the Coulomb barrier and/or in the transmission coefficients.

AbstractIn the present work, we investigate the decays of $$B^{0}_{(s)} \rightarrow \phi \pi ^{+}\pi ^{-}$$ B ( s ) 0 → ϕ π + π - with the final state interaction based on the chiral unitary approach. In the final state interaction of the $$\pi ^+\pi ^-$$ π + π - with its coupled channels, we study the effects of the $$\eta \eta $$ η η channel in the two-body interaction for the reproduction of the $$f_{0}(980)$$ f 0 ( 980 ) state, where its contribution to the $$f_{0}(980)$$ f 0 ( 980 ) state can be ignored. Our results for the $$\pi ^+\pi ^-$$ π + π - invariant mass distributions of the decay $$B^{0}_{s} \rightarrow \phi \pi ^{+}\pi ^{-}$$ B s 0 → ϕ π + π - describe the experimental data up to 1 GeV well, with the resonance contributions from the $$f_{0}(980)$$ f 0 ( 980 ) and $$\rho $$ ρ . For the predicted invariant mass distributions of the $$B^{0} \rightarrow \phi \pi ^{+}\pi ^{-}$$ B 0 → ϕ π + π - decay, we find that the contributions from the $$f_{0}(500)$$ f 0 ( 500 ) are significant, but not from the $$f_{0}(980)$$ f 0 ( 980 ) state. With some experimental branching ratios to determine the production vertex factors, we make predictions for the branching ratios of the other decay channels, including the vector mesons, in the $$B^0_{(s)}$$ B ( s ) 0 decays, some of which are consistent with the experimental measurements within the uncertainties.

The main steps for the analysis of the Λp correlated production in low-energy K− captures on Carbon nuclei, performed by the AMADEUS collaboration, are presented. The goal is to perform the first comprehensive study of the K− absorption on two, three and four nucleons, exploiting the lowmomentum K−s (pK ~ 127 MeV/c) produced at the DAΦNE collider, and to measure the low-energy cross sections and branching ratios of the K− multinucleon absorption processes in both the Λp and Σ0p channels. An integrated luminosity of 1.74 fb−1 collected during the KLOE 2004/2005 data campaign is analysed by reconstructing the Λp final state.
