The application of sensors and information and communication technology (ICT) in agriculture has played a vital role in improving agricultural production and the value chain. Recently, the use of data analytics has shifted agriculture from input-intensive to knowledge-intensive as a large amount of agricultural data can be stored, shared, and analyzed to create information. In this paper, we have reviewed existing sensors and data analytics techniques used in different areas of agriculture. We have classified agriculture into five categories and reviewed the state-of-the-art technology in practice and ongoing research in each of these areas. Also, we have presented a case study of Korean scenario compared with other developed nations and addressed some of the issues associated with it. Finally, we have discussed current and future challenges and provided our views on how such issues can be addressed.

: Self-healing coatings are intended to increase long-term durability and reliability and can be enabled by the presence of microcapsules containing a self-healing agent capable of interacting with the matrix and regenerating the system. This review article provides an overview of the state-of-the-art, focusing on the patents published in the field of microcapsule-based self-healing organic coatings, since the early 2000’s. A discussion about coatings for corrosion protection and the different self-healing approaches and mechanisms are also addressed, as well as future challenges and expectations for this kind of coatings.

Fostered by the introduction of the Music Information Retrieval Evaluation Exchange (MIREX) competition, the number of systems that calculate symbolic melodic similarity has recently increased considerably. To understand the state of the art, we provide a comparative analysis of existing algorithms. The analysis is based on eight criteria that help to characterize the systems, highlighting strengths and weaknesses. We also propose a taxonomy that classifies algorithms based on their approach. Both taxonomy and criteria are fruitfully exploited to provide input for new, forthcoming research in the area.

ABSTRACT Aim: Review and describe the essential components of modern frontal sinus surgery. Background Frontal sinus surgery has evolved considerably over the last century, and advances in imaging, optics, and instrumentation have contributed to contemporary treatment paradigms. Outcomes assessment has had an important role in identifying indications for surgery and future areas of research. Review results Numerous advancements are part of modern frontal sinus surgery and the treatment of frontal sinusitis. Anatomic studies have revealed variations that are associated with disease and pose challenges for surgery. Open approaches remain relevant in situations of difficult disease or as part of combined approaches. Endoscopic surgery, however, is central to contemporary surgical management of frontal sinus disease. Evolving instrumentation and the development of new implantable devices are increasingly relevant in the endoscopic era. Outcomes research has refined indications for surgery and identifies areas for ongoing research. Conclusion State-of-the-art frontal sinus surgery is the product of significant evolution and advancement. Modern surgery is reflective of improved optics and new instrumentation, and the central role of endoscopic approaches in treating frontal sinus disease. Outcomes research has been essential for developing an evidenced-based approach to frontal sinus surgery. RESUMENEste artículo pretende hacernos reflexionar sobre el futuro de la Orientación psicopedagógica en la actual encrucijada sociocultural apuntando algunas ideas sobre su probable evolución. Invita a situarse ante el problema analizando la importancia que el nuevo campo científico de la "Prospectiva" está adquiriendo para aportar soluciones científicas a los inquietantes retos del futuro. Además, ofrece una somera imagen del estado actual de la Orientación a fin de deliberar sobre sus posibles funciones en la sociedad venidera, en relación con: la demografía (envejecimiento e inmigración poblacional); la juventud; la multiculturalidad; la tecnología; la escuela (especialización, prevención y reforma); el mundo del trabajo y sus tendencias emergentes y, finalmente, sobre la probable evolución de los actuales modelos de orientación. Aunque las grandes interrogantes planteadas quedan abiertas, se ofrecen interesantes sugerencias al respecto. Sugerencias que tratan de ayudarnos a reflexionar y a dilucidar propuestas creativas sobre nuestro futuro profesional.ABSTRACTThis paper tries to make us reflect on the future of Educational and Vocational Guidance within the current sociocultural crossroads and suggests some ideas about its possible evolution. It encourages us to face the problem and analyzes the importance that the new scientific field of "Prospective" is gaining in order to provide scientific solutions to the uncertain future challenges. An overview image of the state of the art in Guidance is suggested in order to discuss its possible functions within the coming society, in relation to: demographics (aging and migrations), youth, multiculture, technology, the school (specialization, diagnosis and reform), the labour world and its emerging trends and, finally, about the potential evolution of the current Guidance models. Suggestions are put forward, but the great questions still remain open. It concludes by emphasyzing that the objective of the paper was just to activate our creative thinking and motivate us to reflect upon our professional future.
