Due to the current problems related to the generation of diverse wastes and the extraction of nonrenewable materials to be used in the construction sector, the alternative use of waste glass could be a sustainable option with environmental and economic benefits, in case of being feasible its use as a replacement of the usual aggregates to manufacture recycled mortars. In this research, one presents a study of the fresh-state properties of the mortars containing 15, 30, 60, and 100% recycled glass aggregates as a replacement for the usual aggregate, providing the experimental results of consistency, density, and air content. Using the experimental results, and by means of a numerical and statistical analysis of these, a diagram of triple interaction that allows us to unify the behavior of the studied properties is constituted; making feasible with this, the prediction of the behavior of these properties with respect to variables as their ratio water/cement, aggregate/cement, and different percentages of replacement of aggregates.

As the natural resources needed for the construction sector arelimited, new practices are being adopted for the managementof waste generated nowadays, including the use of constructionand demolition waste as aggregates for concrete and mortar.Considering the different typologies in construction wastes, ceramics are the second most representative material; thereforeit is important to validate their feasibility as a total orpartial replacement of natural aggregates. This work presentsa study of the properties in fresh state (consistency, density andair content) of mortars containing aggregates obtained fromrecycled ceramics, and their influence on the subsequent propertiesin the hardened state. A statistical analysis of experimentaldata was carried out by establishing regression coefficients, and then a triple-entry graph was obtained, allowing the differentproperties of mortars to be easily linked and simplifyingthe prediction of the relationships they will present since themixture design phase.

The existence of construction in an area will have an influence on regional development. Likewise in the City of Magelang, the construction sector is a sector that contributes a fairly large GRDP with the construction of construction such as buildings and roads as the provision of facilities and infrastructure will result in an increase in community welfare which will also affect economic growth. The purpose of this study was identif construction sector in the form of roads and buildings with the results of a map of the distribution of construction in the City of Magelang by looking at the local construction service company so that it can be a reference in improving regional development, especially the construction sector to realize adequate infrastructure. As well as the socio-economic benefits of having a construction service company in Magelang City. This study used qualitative descriptive method with questionnaire, interview, observation and observation techniques. In the 2020 construction distribution map, there are high, medium and low building densities where high building densities dominate in the middle of the city along the main road. Road construction helps the distribution of goods and services and maximizes community access. The existence of a local construction service company provides benefits to the community both socially and economically, such as employment, services, and improvement of infrastructure facilities for the community. However, stronger synergy is needed to realize quality construction and utilize local resources in its implementation.

This article is an exploratory study of perceived risk in the construction sector. We used a sample of 514 workers in Spain, Peru and Nicaragua. The method used was the psychometric paradigm and, under its assumptions we have studied nine factors or qualitative attributes of risk. The main statistical analysis was carried out using a classification tree. As a result is obtained that four of the nine attributes studied predict significantly the perceived risk of the sample. The attribute on the delay of the consequences has been the most important predictor in the model, followed by the attribute that explores the potential catastrophic risk and the attribute that explores the serious consequences. Finally the attribute related to the personal vulnerability has emerged. The implications of the results are exposed.

The simultaneous occurrence of vaporous and gaseous cavitation on hydrofoils is considered. The experimental results show that gaseous cavitation occurs at much higher ambient pressures than that for the vaporous cavitation resulting in desinent-cavitation numbers twice the minimum-pressure coefficient of the hydrofoil. The analysis indicates that the difference between the desinent-cavitation number for the gaseous cavitation and that for the vaporous cavitation is proportional to the dissolved air content and inversely proportional to the square of the velocity.

To meet the requirement for high transparency of agar gel used in tissue culture, bacteriological applications, and high-quality cosmetics and food, this study on improving the transparency of agar products was carried out by using activated carbon for decolorization and perlite for aiding filtration. The results showed that the pre-coating filtration method was better than that of the mixed slurry filtration, so an orthogonal experiment optimization was conducted using the pre-coating filtration method based on the single factor experimental results. The experimental results showed that the optimal process conditions based on the transparency index were: concentration of agar of 1.30%, activated carbon dosage of 0.80%, processing temperature of 95 °C, and treatment time of 20 min. Agar products with gel transparency of 58.93% and blue-ray whiteness value of 93.82 could be obtained under these experimental conditions. The order of the factors influencing the decolorization ratio of agar was as follows: activated carbon dosage > concentration of agar > processing temperature > treatment time. The experimental results provided effective procession methods for the production enterprises based on transparency and increased economic benefits, and it was of practical significance.

Limited supplies of natural aggregates for highway construction, in addition to increasing processing costs, time, and environmental concerns, have led to the use of various reclaimed/recycled materials. Reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) and recycled concrete aggregate (RCA) have prospective uses in substantial amounts in base and subbase layers of flexible pavement in order to overcome the increasing issue of a shortage of natural aggregates. This research presents the development of an empirical model for the estimation of resilient modulus value (MR) on the basis of CBR values using experimental results obtained for 52 remoulded granular samples containing natural aggregates, RCA, and RAP samples. Statistical analysis of the suggested model shows promising results in terms of its strength and significance when t-test was applied. Additionally, experimental results also show that MR value increases in conjunction with an increase in RAP contents, while the trend for the CBR value is the opposite. Statistical analysis of simulation results using PerRoad and KenPave demonstrates that addition of RAP contents in the subbase layer of flexible pavements significantly improves its performance when considering resistance against rutting and fatigue. However, results of repeated load triaxial tests show that residual accumulative strain under a certain range of loading conditions increases substantially due to the addition of RAP materials, which may be disadvantageous to the serviceable life of the whole pavement structure.

The paper describes a new model of concrete production, which contains a glass cullet. A worn-out car side window have been used for the production of recycled glass aggregate (RGA) and its properties were examined. The RGA was used in concrete as a 50% and 100% mass substitute of the traditional aggregate. Basic tests of fresh concrete mix and hardened concrete were carried out. The consistency, the air content in the concrete mix, the density of hardened concrete, water absorption, water resistance, frost resistance, and the compressive strength (after 9, 28, and 90 days) were evaluated. Composite samples were also subjected to microscopic analysis. The results showed that the RGA can be recommended as an aggregate for concretes, and the features of the RGA concrete are more favorable than those of traditional concrete. The microscopic analyses allowed us to identify the reasons for improving the properties of the RGA composites.
