Cross-docking is a logistics management concept in which products are temporarily unloaded at intermediate facilities and loaded onto output trucks to be sent to their final destination. In this paper, we propose an approximate nonstationary queuing model to size the number of docks to receive the trucks, so that their unloading will be as short as possible at the receiving dock, thus making the cross-docking process more efficient. It is observed that the stochastic queuing process may not reach the steady equilibrium state. A type of modeling that does not depend on the stationary characteristics of the process developed is applied. In order to measure the efficiency, performance, and possible adjustments of the parameters of the algorithm, an alternative simulation model is proposed using the Arena® software. The simulation uses analytic tools to make the problem more detailed, which is not allowed in the theoretical model. The computational analysis compares the results of the simulated model with the ones obtained with the theoretical algorithm, considering the queue length and the average waiting time of the trucks. Based on the results obtained, the simulation represented very well the proposed problem and possible changes can be easily detected with small adjustments in the simulated model.

Among the different QoS metrics and parameters considered in cloud computing are the waiting time of cloud tasks, execution time of tasks in VM's, and the utilization rate of servers. The proposed model was developed to overcome some of the pitfalls in the existing systems among which are sub-optimal markdown in the queue length, waiting time, response time, and server utilization rate. The proposed model contemplates on the enhancement of these metrics using a Hybrid Multiple Parallel Queuing approach with a joint implementation of M/M/1: ∞ and M/M/s: N/FCFS to achieve the desired objectives. A neoteric set of mathematical equations have been formulated to validate the efficiency and performance of the hybrid queuing model. The results have been validated with reference to the workload traces of Bit Brains infrastructure provider. The results obtained indicate the significant reduction in the queue length by 60.93 percent, waiting time in the queue by 73.85 percent, and total response time by 97.51%.

Recently, Sherman et al. [14] analyzed an M/G/1 retrial queuing model in which customers are forced to retry their service if interrupted by a server failure. Using classical techniques, they provided a stability analysis, queue length distributions, key performance parameters, and stochastic decomposition results. We analyze the system under a static Bernoulli routing policy that routes a proportion of arriving customers directly to the orbit when the server is busy or failed. In addition to providing the key performance parameters, we show that this system exhibits a dual stability structure, and we characterize the optimal Bernoulli routing policy that minimizes the total expected holding costs per unit time.

BAHASA INDONESIA:

ENGLISH:

This study explains about the role of heart management for educators (teachers). Heart management concept on Islam has same purpose with tazkiyatun nufus (soul maintenance). Trough heart management, people can be directed to be sensitive to manage their small potential to be valuable thing that has big impact not only for themselves, but also for large societies in the world and hereafter. Ideal educator is an honest-straightforward person; she or he is sincere to teach the learners, acts and loves as if real parents, understands the ability of each learner, develops the learners’ potential, open-minded and democratic to receive and respect the learners’ opinions, does teamwork with the learners to solve the problem, and being idol to the learners. Hence, the learners will go along with good attitude of the educators. By understanding heart’s whisper, the educators will be good Muslims, because heart whisper is the mirror of the fitrah soul. Through kind heart, the educators can understand and develop themselves. This case shows that all of their actions and services only because of Allah. Finally, the educators can manage their hearts, and then they can be good role model for the learners. Accordingly, heart management has significant role in increasing intellectual and religious for the educators.

A common problem that is often faced by almost most Barbershop is in terms of serving customer queues, for barbershops who have many customers and have many service chairs, then of course a good customer queue service management concept is needed as well. One of the concepts of queuing services for customers is how queue information can reach customers without queuing at the location. For this reason, a queue service concept for customers is needed based on Android. Android is preferred because almost all smartphone users are currently based on Android. The application will be built based on the concept of client server so that the queue service will occur in real time. The Queuing model used is Multi Channel Single Phase, because in the queue at barbershop there will only be one stage of the process, but it requires a lot of queue flow. This can be seen in the structure of the development diagram. By using an Android-based application based on a single phase multi channel model that will be built it is ensured that customers will find it helpful, without having to spend time in a queue customers can order queues and see queues in real time so they can rush to barbershop when it is close to the queue

Queue is one of the phenomena that occur in everyday activities experienced by everyone. As a result of this queue many people turn to other places to avoid a queue and get more leverage. The purpose of this study is to study the performance of the queue system by modeling a single queue simulation. From the analysis of distribution test calculation will be obtained by queuing model. The measured system parameters are expected average speed velocity, average service speed expectation, chance of busy period, probability of all patient service in system, expectation of queue length, expectation of waiting time in system, and waiting expectation in queue.
Keywords: distribution test, queuing model, and system parameters

Three cases in logging can be considered as queuing situations: the operation of (1) the felling and processing devices of a tree harvester, (2) the pick-up and processing devices of a processor, and (3) manual felling machine skidding. These cases can be represented by a queuing model with a special characteristic — queue length equals zero or one. Analytical solutions of this model that involve deriving the means, variances, and probability density functions of waiting times and idle times are developed.

Cloud computing is the emerging domain in academia and IT Industry. It is a business framework for delivering the services and computing power on-demand basis. Cloud users have to pay the service providers based on their usage. For enterprises, cloud computing is the worthy of consideration and they try to build business systems with lower costs, higher profits and quality-of-service. Considering cost optmization, service provider may initially try to use less number of CPU cores and data centers. For that reason, this paper deals with CloudSim simulation tool which has been utilized for evaluating the number of CPU cores and execution time. Minimization of waiting time is also a considerable issue. When a large number of jobs are requested, they have to wait for getting allocated to the servers which in turn may increase the queue length and also waiting time. This paper also deals with queuing model with multi-server and finite capacity to reduce the waiting time and queue length.
