This case report describes a patient with discolored and fractured composite resin restorations on the anterior teeth in whom substitution was indicated. After wax-up and mock-up, the composite was removed and replaced with minimally invasive ceramic laminates. An established and predictable protocol was performed using resin cement. Minimally invasive ceramic restorations are increasingly being used to replace composite restorations. This treatment improves the occlusal and periodontal aspects during the planning and restorative phases, such as anterior guides, and laterality can be restored easily with ceramic laminates. In addition, the surface smoothness and contour of ceramic restorations do not affect the health of the surrounding periodontal tissues. Here we present the outcome after 18 months of clinical follow-up in a patient in whom composite resin restorations in the anterior teeth were replaced with minimally invasive ceramic laminates.

Defects that occur during the development of anterior teeth are often associated with aesthetic problems. Although enamel hypomineralization does not significantly increase the risk of caries, it causes patients to experience psychosocial problems. A 23-year-old female patient presented to our clinic complaining of white opacity and discolorations in her anterior teeth.  After the systemic and dental anamnesis of the patient, minimally invasive treatment of resin infiltration was planned. In addition, anterior composite resin restorations with impaired color matching was renewed. The patient was recalled 13 months after the treatment. A significant decrease was observed in the appearance of enamel hypomineralizations. The patient was satisfied with the outcome of the treatment. Furthermore, the durability of the treatment after 13 months is satisfactory.

ABSTRACT Hypodontia is the most prevalent craniofacial malformation in mankind. It may present a wide variety of manifestations and, depending on the number and location of missing teeth, it may affect the esthetics, mastication, speech and occlusal balance. This paper discusses the therapeutic approaches to solve this condition, describing a case report with hypodontia of one mandibular lateral incisor, which treatment option included space closure at the region of hypodontia associated with composite resin restorations in the mandibular central incisors. The three-year follow-up after treatment revealed occlusal stability, adequate intercuspation in Class I relationship and excellent micro and macroesthetics.

Case Report. An 8-year-old girl with amelogenesis imperfecta (AI) reported unsatisfactory aesthetics, difficulty in mastication, and dental hypersensitivity. The intraoral examination observed mixed dentition, malocclusion in anteroposterior relationships, anterior open bite, and dental asymmetry. A hypoplastic form of AI was diagnosed in the permanent dentition. A multidisciplinary planning was performed and divided into preventive, orthopedic, and rehabilitation stages. Initially, preventive treatment was implemented, with fluoride varnish applications, in order to protect the fragile enamel and reduce the dental sensitivity. In the second stage, the patient received an interceptive orthopedic treatment to improve cross-relationship of the arches during six months. Finally, the rehabilitation treatment was executed to establish the vertical dimension. In the posterior teeth, indirect composite resin crowns were performed with minimally invasive dental preparation. Direct composite resin restorations were used to improve the appearance of anterior teeth.Follow-Up. The follow-up was carried out after 3, 6, 12, and 18 months. After 18 months of follow-up, The restoration of integrity, oral hygiene, and patient satisfaction were observed .Conclusion. Successful reduction of the dental hypersensitivity and improvement of the aesthetic and functional aspects as well as quality of life were observed.

Hasilpenelitianmenunjukankategoriusiadewasalebihseringmelakukanperawatanretorasi resin komposit dengan 145 gigi (70%) dan semen ionomerkaca dengan 106 gigi (58,8%) yang direstorasi, pasienperempuanlebihseringmelakukanperawatanrestorasiresin komposit dengan 117 (59,4%) dan semen ionomerkaca dengan 101 (56%) gigi yang direstorasi. Resin composites and glass ionomer cement is a material used for dental restorative treatment on poly Hospital Gunung Maria Tomohon. The purpose of this study to describe the use of composite resin restorations and glass ionomer cement in the teeth poly Hospital Gunung Maria Tomohon in 2012. This research is deskrpitif , data extracted from medical records of patients with restoration of total sampling.Data method obtained the restoration of the patient's medical record number in 2012 as many as 268 and the number of restored teeth as much as 387. Restored teeth using composite resin materials as much as 207 teeth, whereas the teeth restored with glass ionomer cement as many as 180 teeth. The results are divided based on age, sex, dental and diagnostic elements. The results showed the adult age category more often retorasi care dental resin composite with 145 (70 %) and glass ionomer cement with 106 teeth (58,8 %) were restored, female patients were more frequent maintenance of composite resin restorations with 117 (59,4 %) and glass ionomer cement with 101(56 %) restored teeth. Anterior teeth are restored using gigibagian posterior composite resin and glass ionomer cement seringdirestorasimenggunakan. Pulp hyperemia is the most diagnosed diseases and most often get care composite resin restorations with 179 cases (86 %) and glass ionomer cement 157 cases (87,3%). ABSTRACT Primary teeth have an important role in the growth and development of the child, besides being important for the good performance of masticatory function, phonation, occlusion and aesthetics, are the best space maintainers and eruption guide for the permanent successor. For anterior region, there are different alternatives of rehabilitation treatment, however, it is up to the professional to choose the best option. Objective To present a therapeutic management of upper incisors affected by carious lesion with intrarradicular pin in early childhood. Case report: male patient, with 2 years and 7 months of age and significant loss of dental structure at an early stage. In the impossibility of performing direct restoration, we opted for the rehabilitation with the use of glass fiber pins for intraradicular reinforcement and composite resin restorations in order to restore shape, function and aesthetics. Conclusion The use of fiberglass intra-radicular pins associated with direct restoration of composite resin is a recommended technique for the reconstruction of anterior teeth with great destruction.

The preservation of healthy dental structures contributes to the practice of a conservative dentistry. This concept involves the implementation of biological and mechanical principles in a more predictable manner. Minimally invasive cavity preparations are the complement to the selection of adhesive and composite resin materials. The correct application of an adhesive protocol will provide imperceptible aesthetic restorations and adequate clinical performance.

<p><span>he aim of this In Vivo study was to evaluate the influence of the cavosurface angle (with bevel, and no preparation), of direct composite resin restorations in previous fractured teeth after 4 years of clinical performance. The restorations were performed by a single operator, following a restorative standardized protocol. For the study were selected 24 upper central incisors with fracture or with class IV restorations with an indication of replacement. According to the restorative technique, the teeth were divided into 2 groups: group I (n = 12) Class IV Restorations with a bevel preparation technique; and group II (n = 12) Class IV Restorations performed with no preparation. The restorations were evaluated at 7 days and 4 years, by two examiners, previously calibrated using modified USPHS criteria. After 4 years, two restorations were excluded, representing 22 restorations (11 with bevel preparation, and 11 without). The Fisher test demonstrates no significant differences between groups (p &gt; 0.05). This study presents clinical evidence that the cavosurface angle configuration does not influence the clinical performance of direct composite resin restorations in fractured teeth. Thus, we recommend no preparation of the cavosurface angle to preserve sound dental tissue based on a Minimally Invasive Dentistry approach. </span></p>
