This paper is concerned with robust stability analysis of uncertain Roesser-type discrete-time two-dimensional (2D) systems. In particular, the underlying parameter uncertainties of system parameter matrices are assumed to belong to a convex bounded uncertain domain, which usually is named as the so-called polytopic uncertainty and appears typically in most practical systems. Robust stability criteria are proposed for verifying the robust asymptotical stability of the related uncertain Roesser-type discrete-time 2D systems in terms of linear matrix inequalities. Indeed, a parameter-dependent Lyapunov function is applied in the proof of our main result and thus the obtained robust stability criteria are less conservative than the existing ones. Finally, the effectiveness and applicability of the proposed approach are demonstrated by means of some numerical experiments.

Abstract This paper deals with the problem of robust $H_{\infty }$ filtering for uncertain two-dimensional discrete systems in the Fornasini–Marchesini second model with polytopic parameter uncertainties. Firstly, a new $H_{\infty }$ performance criterion is derived by exploiting a new structure of the parameter-dependent Lyapunov function. Secondly, based on the criterion obtained, a new condition for the existence of a robust $H_{\infty }$ filter that ensures asymptotic stability, and a prescribed $H_{\infty }$ performance level of the filtering error system, for all admissible uncertainties is established in terms of linear matrix inequalities. Finally, two examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness and advantage of the proposed method.

This paper proposes new delay-dependent stability criteria for discrete-time neural networks with interval time-varying delays and probabilistic occurring parameter uncertainties. It is assumed that parameter uncertainties are changed with the environment, explored using random situations, and its stochastic information is included in the proposed method. By constructing a suitable Lyapunov–Krasovskii functional, new delay-dependent stability criteria for the concerned systems are established in terms of linear matrix inequalities, which can be easily solved by various effective optimization algorithms. Two numerical examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Robust stability conditions are derived for uncertain 2D linear discrete-time systems, described by Fornasini-Marchesini second models with polytopic uncertainty. Robust stability is guaranteed by the existence of a parameter-dependent Lyapunov function obtained from the feasibility of a set of linear matrix inequalities, formulated at the vertices of the uncertainty polytope. Several examples are presented to illustrate the results.

In this paper, the problem of global robust stability is discussed for uncertain Cohen-Grossberg-type (CG-type) bidirectional associative memory (BAM) neural networks (NNs) with delays. The parameter uncertainties are supposed to be norm bounded. The sufficient conditions for global robust stability are derived by employing a Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional. Based on these, the conditions ensuring global asymptotic stability without parameter uncertainties are established. All conditions are expressed in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). In addition, two examples are provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the results obtained.

This paper is concerned with the robust stability analysis problem for stochastic neural networks of neutral-type with uncertainties and time-varying delays. Novel stability criteria are proposed in terms of linear matrix inequality (LMI) by defining a Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional and using the stochastic analysis technique. Two examples are given to show the effectiveness of the obtained conditions.

This paper investigates the problem of robust stability for linear parameter-dependent (LPD) discrete-time systems with interval time-varying delays. Based on the combination of model transformation, utilization of zero equation, and parameter-dependent Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional, new delay-dependent robust stability conditions are obtained and formulated in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Numerical examples are given to demonstrate the effectiveness and less conservativeness of the proposed methods.

Sufficient linear matrix inequality (LMI) conditions to verify the robust stability and to design robust state feedback gains for the class of linear discrete-time systems with time-varying delay and polytopic uncertainties are presented. The conditions are obtained through parameter-dependent Lyapunov-Krasovskii functionals and use some extra variables, which yield less conservative LMI conditions. Both problems, robust stability analysis and robust synthesis, are formulated as convex problems where all system matrices can be affected by uncertainty. Some numerical examples are presented to illustrate the advantages of the proposed LMI conditions.

We discuss stability analysis for uncertain stochastic neural networks (SNNs) with time delay in this letter. By constructing a suitable Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional (LKF) and utilizing Wirtinger inequalities for estimating the integral inequalities, the delay-dependent stochastic stability conditions are derived in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). We discuss the parameter uncertainties in terms of norm-bounded conditions in the given interval with constant delay. The derived conditions ensure that the global, asymptotic stability of the states for the proposed SNNs. We verify the effectiveness and applicability of the proposed criteria with numerical examples.

This paper addresses the robust stability for a class of linear discrete-time stochastic systems with convex polytopic uncertainties. The system to be considered is subject to both interval time-varying delays and convex polytopic type uncertainties. Based on the augmented parameter-dependent Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional, new delay-dependent conditions for the robust stability are established in terms of linear matrix inequalities. An application to robust stabilization of linear discrete-time stochastic control systems is given. Numerical examples are included to illustrate the effectiveness of our results.
