A portable cosmic muon detector has been developed for environmental, geophysical, or industrial applications. The device is a tracking detector based on the Close Cathode Chamber, an MWPC-like technology, allowing operation in natural underground caves or artificial tunnels, far from laboratory conditions. The compact, low power consumption system with sensitive surface of 0.1 m2measures the angular distribution of cosmic muons with a resolution of 10 mrad, allowing for a detailed mapping of the rock thickness above the muon detector. Demonstration of applicability of the muon telescope (REGARD Muontomograph) for civil engineering and measurements in artificial underground tunnels or caverns are presented.

The performance of the Borexino Outer Detector is described. It is a large water Cherenkov detector for identifying cosmic muons, penetrating the whole detector system. The Outer Detector is important for tagging cosmic muon generated background events in Borexino. Here, we present the muon identification efficiency and show the capability of muon tracking reconstruction.

Communication is very common today, this document introduces a design of high frequency walkie-talkie for communication, and the design of the circuit is low power consumption. The circuit has transmitting circuit, receiving circuit, control circuit and so on, mainly includes mixer, filter, amplifier, frequency modulation (FM), demodulation, microcontroller unit (MCU), liquid crystal display (LCD), keymatrix and so on. This system not only can realise voice communication, but also can transmit short messages. Through the choice of ICs in the circuit, that makes the system to be a low power consumption system. So this system can be used in various conditions.

Abstract. A portable cosmic muon detector has been developed for geophysical application: searching for large scale underground rock/soil inhomogeneities and underground cavities. The designed muon telescope called Muontomograph is based on the recently developed Closed Cathode Chamber (CCC) technology, which provides a cheap, easy handling, portable, and power efficient detector system, able to work even at extreme conditions (e.g. high humidity, low/high temperature). The muon telescope has about 0.1 m2 detection surface with 10 mrad angular resolution. Tests have been performed in natural caves and artificial tunnel systems as well. In the paper a summary of the first results on tomographed cavities are presented and the geophysical and possible industrial use of the cosmic muon tomograph technology is indicated.
