Caring teaching is a conceptual framework used to gain an insight into the moral aspect of teaching. Using a quantitative research approach, we studied 556 teachers in order to explore their perceived dimensions of caring teaching. Drawing on existing literature, we found that caring teaching has been elaborated in line with two broad concepts: personal care and academic care. Considering these concepts, we developed the Caring Teaching Scale with which we identified four dimensions of caring teaching: the nurturing of a student's character, didactical bias, awareness, and respectful didactics. A meta-analysis reflection suggests that the nurturing of students' characters and awareness represent personal care while didactical bias and respectful didactics call for academic care. Further analysis showed that these teachers attached more pedagogical value to personal care. Controlling for two demographic variables, we found statistically significant differences with regard to gender and caring teaching.

This chapter outlines the journey that the city of Londonderry (Derry), Northern Ireland, undertook when converting a traditional walled city to a technology-enhanced wireless city. The chapter presents an overview of the three project strands, namely wireless city (civic aspect), wireless walls (tourism aspect), and wireless campus (educational aspect), along with the contribution made by each partner organization. A detailed case study of the educational element is presented, employing a dual qualitative/ quantitative research approach. The case study focuses on the experience of one academic member of staff in using the wireless initiative via Tablet PC and SMART classroom. Quantitative analysis to gain insight into usability of wireless networking services and wireless technologies is presented from both a staff and student viewpoint and finally conclusions are drawn on the overall project experience. The project successfully, completed in December 2006, has received a number of awards for its innovative approach.

Objectives: 1. to assess the perception towards online classes among nursing faculty. 2. To determine the association between perceptions towards online classes among nursing faculty with selected socio-demographic variables. Assumptions:Nursing faculty may have positive perception towards online classes. Conceptual Framework:Community of Inquiry Model has been used. Methodology: Quantitative research approach, a descriptive research design was used. 81 Samples were selected from the nursing colleges purposively. After obtaining the consent form, self- structured 5-point Likert scale has been sent to them in the form of Google Form to assess their level of perception towards online classes. The results of the study revealed that 76 (93.8%) nursing faculty had medium level of perception towards online classes and 05 (6.2%) nursing faculty had high perception towards online classes. The mean perception score were found to be 73.5± 9.72 among nursing faculty. Conclusion: Nursing faculty had moderate level of perception towards online classes. It can become high if there will be the availability of proper sources to evaluate the students properly as well as to teach them theoretically and practically if pandemic persists.

The study was conducted with the aim to assess the association of stress among nursing students and their demographic variables.Stress arises when there is increasing demand from external factors and is commonly found in nursing students due to number of factors like; academic stress, new environmental stress etc. Quantitative research approach with Quasi Experimental, Non-randomized control group design [Pre-test –Post-test Control group design] was used Total enumerate sampling technique was used to collect data from the 40 subjects who fulfilled the inclusion criteria and were assigned to control group (n=20) and experimental group (n=20). Findings of the present study revealed that there was statistically significant association of level of stress score in the control and the experimental group with the age, total monthly income of the family, and residence of the study subjects with (p=0.008),(p=0.027), and (p=0.000) respectively, while as no association was found between pre-interventional level of stress scores in the control and the experimental group with other demographic variables like gender (p=0.113), and type of family (p=0.429) at 0.05 level of significance. The results revealed that there was significant association between the age, total monthly income of family and residence of study subjects with pre-interventional level of stress scores of control and experimental group. Whereas no significant association was found between demographic variables i.e. gender and type of family with pre-interventional level of stress scores of control and experimental group.

Introduction: Stress is a state of physical and psychological strain which imposes demands for adjustments upon the individual. It has been reported that student nurses are affected with the stressors in academic, clinical, financial, due to parental expectations, competition for grades, and career choices. OBJECTIVES 1. To assess the level of stress among 1st year B.Sc nursing students. 2. To fine out association with the level of stress with their socio demographic variables of 1st year B.Sc nursing students. Methodology: A quantitative research approach, descriptive research design was adopted for the study. A sample of 60 students 1st year B.Sc nursing were selected by purposive sampling technique. Modified student stress scale was used to assess the level of stress. The data was analyzed by using the descriptive and inferential statistics i.e. frequency and percentage, mean, standard deviation, and chi-square. Major findings of the study: 14(23%) students had mild stress, 40(67%) students had moderate stress, 6 (10%) students had severe stress. Association between the level of stress and socio demographic variables, there is a statistically significant association with gender and no significant association with other socio demographic variables such as such type of family, father’s education, mother’s education, father’s occupation, mother’s occupation, family income per month, type of residence, distance from residence. Conclusion : The findings of study suggest that 1st year B.Sc nursing students have moderate level of stress which has no significant association with majority of socio demographic variables.

An appropriate learning method can improve students’ learning achievement. The cooperative learning method encourages students to improve their mathematics learning achievement. Mathematics learning achievement is one indicator of achieving learning objectives. Mathematics is an important lesson to be learned and must be mastered by students. The purpose of this research was to analyze the effect size of the relationship between Cooperative learning method and mathematics learning achievement through meta-analysis quantitative research approach. In this research, the cooperative learning method serves as an independent variable, and mathematics learning achievement serves as the dependent variable. The data was obtained from the online database search results on Google Scholar in 2010-2020. The sample used was 16 research publications that have met the specified criteria. The data analysis technique used was the meta-analysis quantitative approach with correlation meta-analysis. The results showed that there was a positive and significant relationship (level of 5%) between the cooperative learning method and students’ mathematics learning achievement. The average effect size value was 0.15 in the range of 0.04 to 0.27 which was included in the low category. These results have proven the consistency of the findings of previous research.

Tourism is seen as a crucial part of the economy of eSwatini. eSwatini now focuses on marketing itself as a cultural tourism destination where tourists are able to experience ancient Swazi ceremonies such as the Umhlanga (Reed Dance) ceremony. Research into traditional rural, cultural events such as the Umhlanga ceremony has not received significant attention. This study presents an exploratory spending profile of visitors to the Umhlanga ceremony. A quantitative research method was utilised for the study. Data was analysed to determine general spending by event visitors on spending associated with the event. Lastly, data was analysed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) comparisons with Tukey's multiple comparisons and t-tests in order to determine if there were any significant associations between the demographic variables and the spending patterns. Findings indicated that place of residence, employment status, level of education, age, travel party size, local residential location, gender, transportation and number of visits had a significant influence on the average expenditure within the destination. This was the first study of its kind on a cultural event in eSwatini and it provides an insight into the complex nature of such events which may assist event stakeholders in enhancing the sustainability of these types of events in future.
