Osseointegration is a major factor influencing the success of dental implantation. To achieve rapid and strong, durable osseointegration, biomaterial researchers have investigated various surface treatment methods for dental subgingival titanium (Ti) implants. This paper focuses on surface-charge modification on the surface of titanium dental implants, which is a relatively new and very promising methodology for improving the implants’ osseointegration properties. We give an overview on both theoretical explanations on how surface-charge affects the implants' osseointegration, as well as a potential surface charge modification method using sandblasting. Additionally, we discuss insights on the important factors affecting effectiveness of surface-charge modification methods and point out several interesting directions for future investigations on this topic.

This article is devoted to the protection of bridge metal structures from corrosion. The article was written with the aim of studying one of the stages of anti-corrosion treatment, namely the preparation of the surface before applying a protective coating. In the article, the authors address the problem of the durability of paint coatings, and point to the main reasons, to a greater extent, affecting the service life. Studying the problem of the durability of protective coatings, the authors distinguish such a stage as preparing the metal surface of the bridge structure before applying the paintwork. The authors tell how important the preparation of the surface is and what negative consequences are possible if it is disturbed or not. For a more detailed study of the problem, the authors consider several methods of preparing the surface of the structure, such as: abrasive blast cleaning, phosphating the surface and heat treatment. When studying the above mentioned methods, the authors describe the technology of the work, the main factors affecting the final result of processing, as well as the positive and negative sides of each of the methods. For each of the surface treatment methods, the authors present illustrations that clearly show the basic concept of the selected treatment option. Summing up the comparative analysis of surface treatment methods before applying anti-corrosion coatings, the authors chose the most optimal processing method, as well as concluded that the importance of this stage and the possibility of its further improvement.

ABSTRACT With the introduction ofbiocompatible materials like titanium and other bio ceramics and added advantages of preservation of tooth structure, implants have created a new era in dentistry as treatment option for missing teeth. Earlier short coming oflack of bonding with bone are overcome by osseointegration property of titanium and zirconia implants. This osseointegration rate of titanium dental implants is related to surface composition, surface roughness and hydrophilicity which increase the mechanical stability of implants. The present review throws some light on various methods employed for surface modifications. AIM & OBJECTIVE Aim of this paper is to discuss various surface treatment methods of Implants and its effect on osseointegration. CONCLUSION There are various surface modified implants available. Studies have proven that these implants show better osseointegration compared to machined implants.

Background.Due to the prevalence of Vitamin D deficiency as well as the frequency of reconstructive surgical interventions followed by dental implantation, the issue arises concerning the effect of Vitamin D on reparative regeneration of bone and osseointegration of dental implants. The purpose using literature data we are conducting an impact assessment of vitamin D on reparative regeneration of bone tissue, in particular, after oral reconstruction surgeries and dental implantation.Methods.Retrieval, systematization and analysis of scientific data on application of vitamin D supplementation and its effect on reparative regeneration of jaw bone tissue. The conclusions. For the most part, the positive effect exerted on reparative regeneration of jaw bone tissue and osseointegration of dental implants is due to the role of vitamin D in physiological processes evolving in bone tissue, namely maintenance of calcium and phosphate exchange through intestinal absorption and TNF, RANKL (Receptor activator of nuclear factor kappa-B ligand) and consequently differentiation of precursors to osteoclasts into osteoclasts through VDR stimulation (VitaminD Receptor) receptors for further osteogenesis. Also, according to literature data, FGF23 (Fibroblast Growth Factor) protein is a marker of osteoblasts differentiation into osteocytes, it is also known that FGF23 and 1,25(ОН)2D3 are genetically related. FGF23 is the main regulator of both phosphate exchange in bones and metabolism of vitamin D and its metabolites. Besides, indirect anti-inflammatory effect has been observed thanks to inhibition of pro-inflammatory cytokine secretion. Taking into account the abovementioned data, of particular relevance is the definition of serum concentration 25(ОН)D and development of schemes of vitamin D level pre-surgery correction in patients, who have to undergo oral reconstruction surgeries and dental implantation. Mass spectrometry is a promising diagnostic method for determining the level of vitamin D in a body, as it allows to identify the actual amount of vitamin D free from admixture of other steroid hormones. The introduction of this method into clinical practice will allow to monitor the level of vitamin D in patients, receiving reconstructive and rehabilitative treatment.

The objectives of the investigation were to develop protocols evaluating the validity and effectiveness of the cytological method for diagnosis and prognosis of tissue conditions adjacent to a dental implant. Methods. This study examined the cytological characteristics of imprints of the gingiva-implant contact area, a. the correlation of quantitative ratios of epithelial cells either with or without hystopathological manifestations (an index of destruction, ID); b. ratio of cells of the inflammatory infiltrate (an inflammatory and destructive index, IDI); these data were researched in relation with dynamics of the clinical pictures during a postoperative period. The cytological material was obtained 1, 5, 15, 25, 30, 60, 120 days after dental implantation. Totally 442 cytogramme from 11 patients (1-2 implant per a patient) were assayed. The data array for computation of integrated indicators was composed of ca. 2550 data points. Results. A significant increase of ID (7500 ± 15) and IDI (80 ± 20) indicators, which reflects the development of acute inflammatory reactions in tissues neighboring an implant, was observed within 1-5 days following the insertion of dental implants. Long-term observations revealed two scenarios. The first scenario was characterized by the retention of high levels of ID and IDI over the period of observations. The second scenario featured the reduction of ID and IDI indices, which corresponded to the development of the osseointegration of dental implants.
