For the first time, larvae and egg masses of decapod cephalopods are here reported from the waters of Newfoundland and Labrador. The specimens in question are from a depth of 180 fathoms in Bonavista Bay in the north of insular Newfoundland. One larva and eight eggs of extremely large size were found in a mass composed of fibrous and spongy components. The decapod is assigned to the genus Rossia. The egg mass was found to incorporate living tissue of the demospongid Isodictya palmata (Lamarck).
