A method of pole density measurements is described, which uses the differences in X-ray beam polarisation of two monochromators. The method requires a single reflection at an intermediate diffraction angle. Experimental verification is provided by pole density measurements of Ag films and comparison the results obtained with the proposed method with results from the reflection-pair method [8-10].

In this study, we aimed to improve the VOA-based simple chaotic circuit proposed by Sprott in the literature by using FTFN-based circuit topology. And also, by choosing one of the FTFN-based circuits whose chaotic dynamics are very similar to that of Chua's circuit as a reference model, we tested the performance of this model at different frequencies and its extended frequency performance has been verified by laboratory experiments and PSpice simulations.

A new concept for the evaluation of flowmeter dynamic response is presented. A technique based on hydraulic line dynamics is applied to achieve accurate measurements of the reference flowrate. The major components in the equipment used in experimental verification of the theory were a test pipe, a pulsating flow generator, three pressure transducers, an A/D converter, and a microcomputer system. This equipment allowed the dynamic characteristics of a flowmeter to be investigated in both the time and frequency domains. Comparisons of flowrates measured using the line dynamic technique and the same flowrates recorded by the flowmeter are presented. The results confirm the feasibility and practicability of the dynamic line technique for measuring rapidly varying flows.

Abstract The paper presents the design of a manipulator for servicing the elements of water and sewage infrastructure, in particular for installation and dismantling of pressure transducers without the need for earthmoving. To build this device the resilient elements, cold shaped, responsible for centering the manipulator in the technical tube were used. In their construction a method was applied of estimating the value of residual stresses in the cold shaped material, based on measurements of instrumental hardness. The experimental verification of numerical simulation of instrumental hardness measurements of flat springs made of 1.1274 steel is described.

AbstractFrom the established dependence of the brightness decrease of a short-period comet dependence on the perihelion distance of its orbit it follows that part of the surface of these cometary nuclei gradually covers by a refractory crust. The results of cometary nucleus simulation show that at constant insolation energy the crust thickness is proportional to the square root of the insolation time and the ice sublimation rate is inversely proportional to the crust thickness. From laboratory experiments resulted the thermal regime, the gas productivity of the nucleus, covering of the nucleus by the crust, and the tempo of evolution of a short-period comet into the asteroid-like body studied.
