Raman mapping, with a spatial resolution close to the diffraction limit, can help to reveal the distribution of chemical species at the surface of an heterogeneous sample.As early as 1975,three methods of sample laser illumination and detector configuration have been proposed to perform Raman mapping at the microscopic level (Fig. 1),:- Point illumination:The basic design of the instrument is a classical Raman microprobe equipped with a PM tube or either a linear photodiode array or a two-dimensional CCD detector. A laser beam is focused on a very small area ,close to the diffraction limit.In order to explore the whole surface of the sample,the specimen is moved sequentially beneath the microscope by means of a motorized XY stage. For each point analyzed, a complete spectrum is obtained from which spectral information of interest is extracted for Raman image reconstruction.- Line illuminationA narrow laser line is focused onto the sample either by a cylindrical lens or by a scanning device and is optically conjugated with the entrance slit of the stigmatic spectrograph.

We enhanced the resolution characteristics of a threedimensional (3D) image using time-division multiplexing methods in a full-parallax multi-view 3D display. A time-division light-ray shifting (TDLS) method is proposed that uses two polarization gratings (PGs). As PG changes the diffraction direction of light rays according to the polarization state of the incident light, this method can shift light rays approximately 7 mm in a diagonal direction by switching the polarization state of incident light and adjusting the distance between the PGs. We verified the effect on the characteristics of 3D images based on the extent of the shift. As a result, the resolution of a 3D image with depth is improved by shifting half a pitch of a multi-view image using the TDLS method, and the resolution of the image displayed near the screen is improved by shifting half a pixel of each viewpoint image with a wobbling method. These methods can easily enhance 3D characteristics with a small number of projectors.

In this article, the authors present an image processing method to reduce three-dimensional (3D) crosstalk for eye-tracking-based 3D display. Specifically, they considered 3D pixel crosstalk and offset crosstalk and applied different approaches based on its characteristics. For 3D pixel crosstalk which depends on the viewer’s relative location, they proposed output pixel value weighting scheme based on viewer’s eye position, and for offset crosstalk they subtracted luminance of crosstalk components according to the measured display crosstalk level in advance. By simulations and experiments using the 3D display prototypes, the authors evaluated the effectiveness of proposed method.
