This paper describes a CMOS image sensor with non-destructive high-speed imaging mode. The proposed sensor reads out high-speed intermediate images without destroying accumulated signal charge and captures video-rate (30 frame/s) images with high SNR. The application of the sensor to a low power motion vector estimation for video compression and high-fidelity imaging of moving object with tracking are also presented. Motion vector estimation using the proposed sensor is possible to reduce computational power by a factor of 1/10 compared to the full search algorithm. The simulation results show that the proposed image sensor with nondestructive high-speed imaging mode is useful for moving object imaging with less shape distortion.

For a higher attack accuracy of projectiles, a novel mechanical and electronic video stabilization strategy is proposed for trajectory correction fuze. In this design, the complexity of sensors and actuators were reduced. To cope with complex combat environments, an infrared image sensor was used to provide video output. Following the introduction of the fuze’s workflow, the limitation of sensors for mechanical video stabilization on fuze was proposed. Particularly, the parameters of the infrared image sensor that strapdown with fuze were calculated. Then, the transformation relation between the projectile’s motion and the shaky video was investigated so that the electronic video stabilization method could be determined. Correspondingly, a novel method of dividing sub-blocks by adaptive global gray threshold was proposed for the image pre-processing. In addition, the gray projection algorithm was used to estimate the global motion vector by calculating the correlation between the curves of the adjacent frames. An example simulation and experiment were implemented to verify the effectiveness of this strategy. The results illustrated that the proposed algorithm significantly reduced the computational cost without affecting the accuracy of the motion estimation. This research provides theoretical and experimental basis for the intelligent application of sensor systems on fuze.

During video transmission over error prone network, compressed video bit-stream is sensitive to channel errors that may degrade the decoded pictures severely. In order to solve this problem, error concealment technique is a useful post-processing tool for recovering the lost information. In these methods, how to estimate the lost motion vector correctly is important for the quality of decoded picture. In order to recover the lost motion vector, an Decoder Motion Vector Estimation (DMVE) criterion was proposed and have well effect for recover the lost blocks. In this paper, we propose an improved error concealment method based on DMVE, which exploits the accurate motion vector by using redundant motion vector information. The experimental results with an H.264 codec show that our method improves both subjective and objective decoder reconstructed video quality, especially for sequences of drastic motion.
