Abstract Design researchers use protocol studies to understand the cognition of designers and how they think. Although different qualitative and quantitative methods have been employed, analyzing protocol data often requires manual coding, which is tedious, time-consuming, and susceptible to human error. To address these challenges, this paper presents an automated method to record and analyze the designer’s actions. To demonstrate the proposed method, we designed and conducted an experimental study that used a graphical user interface to record design actions while the designer solves a factory layout problem. Then, we used spectral clustering to analyze the data and identify the subproblems that the designer considered. The final design layouts were evaluated using two metrics: travel distance and adjacency score. Our automated method to record and analyze designers’ actions provides a framework to analyze protocol study data sets objectively and quickly.

WOFOST version 7.1.3 is a computer model that simulates the growth and production of annual field crops. All the run options are operational through a graphical user interface named WOFOST Control Center version 1.8 (WCC). WCC facilitates selecting the production level, and input data sets on crop, soil, weather, crop calendar, hydrological field conditions, soil fertility parameters and the output options. The files with crop, soil and weather data are explained, as well as the run files and the output files. A general overview is given of the development and the applications of the model. Its underlying concepts are discussed briefly.

We here developed an automated well plate imaging system to eliminate the requirement for continuous human operation, thus freeing up the valuable time of a scientific researcher and removing the possibility of fatigue-induced human error. Specifically, we created a prototype system with programmed two-dimensional movement, automated calibration, variable plate configuration compatibility, variable path feasibility, reliable well plate image capture, and an intuitive graphical user interface. Successful implementation of our device would immediately benefit laboratory scientists, giving them more time to pursue the next biomedical breakthroughs.

With the large availability of bamboo in Indonesia which has several advantages in terms of material characteristics in its application to products, this research activity aims to explore the potential of bamboo with lamination techniques, so as to find the potential of laminated bamboo which is suitable for application to traveling bag products. will be appointed as a concept in the product of the means of carrying that will be designed. The purpose of this study is to present a novel design on a travel bag by combining natural and artificial materials by analyzing concrete data regarding the characteristics and techniques of processing bamboo materials that are suitable for the design of a travel bag. The study was conducted as a reference / source of information / theoretical study / data analysis in working on project design 5 and Professional Work. In this study, the method used is qualitative and quantitative methods by conducting observations, surveys and research on traveling activities and research carried out related to activities, characteristics, and means of carrying used when traveling. If the application and processing techniques of bamboo material are used in the right type of travel bag, there will be a novelty in the design of the travel bag

The purpose of this study was to investigate what types of interactions promote students’ sense of community in a global online course. This design-based research study was aimed at finding out practical principles to help students develop a sense of community and have a meaningful learning experience. A total of 82 students participated in the study. Data were collected and analysed using both qualitative and quantitative methods during three design-based research cycles. These analyses produced six qualitatively different categories that were completed with questionnaire data. To meet the goals of the design-based research, this study produced an online higher education course and design principles, as well as deepened our theoretical understanding of the sense of community in online learning.

This paper aims to explore the frequencies of using the Attitudinal resources in Shange‟s Postmodern American drama “For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide/When the Rainbow is Enuf”. The purpose of that investigation is to make a comparative analysis among all three types of Attitude categories which are: Appreciation, Judgment, and Affect. In order to accomplish the role of being the spokesperson of black American women in the United States of America by delivering the real agony and oppression that those people faced because of their class, gender, and race. The playwright has presented and cantered on seven black women who encountered some form of neglect, harassment, and abuse; either emotionally, sexually, or physically. The analysing process has presented that the playwright had utilized many linguistic resources; „Judgement‟. This category is considered as one of the major Attitudinal systems in the discourse-semantic appraisal mode within Systemic Functional Linguistics (SFL) for interpersonal meanings. Judgement is connected with the evaluation of black women‟s characters as well as their behaviours in this literary text. This article intends to discover the reason behind the heavy use of that category compared with the other two types of Attitudinal system. The paper has adopted qualitative and quantitative methods to conduct the objectives of the Attitudinal resources in the selected data sets. This paper has concluded that in the Attitude category, Judgement turned to be the most presentation system comparing with the other Attitudinal types which are Affect and Appreciation. Moreover, within the scope of Judgement „Propriety‟ and „Tenacity‟ have exceeded other judgmental subtypes.

Abstract: Lesson study is being actively implemented in many countries as one of the continuous professional development program for school teachers. Since collaboration is an important element of lesson study, it is deemed necessary to investigate teachers’ beliefs about collaboration in lesson study. Data were collected through both qualitative and quantitative methods, where teachers were surveyed via questionnaire, interviewed, observed and asked to keep a journal. Thirty-one teachers and a school administrator who oversee the teachers’ progress in the school were involved. The results showed that most teachers agree with the benefits of lesson study, such that it improved cooperation and collegiality. Other benefits include: lesson study provides a platform for sharing collaboratively; knowledge is enhanced in terms of content, pedagogy, student-centered instructions , and curricula – ability to design constructivist lessons. Negative comments were centered around time constraint and heavy workload – leading to absence from shceduled meetings. Overall, the effect of collaboration in lesson study has led to more improved teachers compared to other professional development approaches.

The art found in public space represents a local social and cultural situation, as well as the artistic and aesthetic tendencies. There is a close relationship between the public art and the city landscape. Public art is part of the broader visual environment of buildings, landscapes, and infrastructure. It can promote a sense of place, contribute to legibility or wayfinding, and support efforts to quality urban design. It can be in the form of sculpture, street furniture, mural, and even fountain structure. This research focuses on the user's perception and appreciation of integrated public art in the Putrajaya urban landscape. Data was collected using qualitative and quantitative methods. The case study data collections were conducted through a survey, observation, and distribution of questionnaires. The case study was carried out in the Putrajaya urban landscape. Putrajaya was selected as a case study because it is the new administrative capital of Malaysia that has seen the need to be distinctively outstanding in both its characteristics and development. Putrajaya has revealed the influence of public art in enforcing and strengthening the identity of the city. Subsequently, the recommendation has been made to enhance the planning process and management system by the local authority in the Putrajaya urban landscape. Therefore, this research will help to generate the social awareness and understanding of the effort of integrating public art into the Malaysian urban landscape. Keywords: Putrajaya, planning, public art, sense of place, urban landscape
