Design and Manufacturing Education Utilized Digital Engineering

The most effective method in design and manufacturing education is to experience the series of processes, which are to be given a design subject, the design of the machine to qualify the specification, to manufacture or buy necessary parts, the assembly and the evaluation of performance, by oneself or few people. Firstly, the items to learn and improve in the course for the attending student were listed up and examined. These become the evaluation items of the program by the attending student. The program called ‘Clock Project’ was developed. The subject is to design the clock that displays ‘hour’ and ‘minute’. Various restrictions are installed in the size of machine, the parts can be used and etc. The evaluation function to decide the excellent/poor design is the number of parts. The design with small number of parts becomes an excellent one. A couple of students struggle with the program with collaboration. 3-D CAD is used to design and the efficiency is improved comparing with ordinary hand drafting. Moreover, the digital engineering such as a RP (Rapid Prototype) equipment and EC (Electric Commerce) service for the order of parts are utilized fully. As the result, the management cost was reduced drastically. The participated team designed unique clocks. There was no same clock though many types clock were designed in the class. The creativity is inspired through this program. In the paper, the progressed points are explained comparing with the ordinary educational program. And it is examined that whether the expected effect is obtained or not based on the result of evaluation by the students.

The main objective of this study is to assess the seismic vulnerability of a class of highway bridges existing in certain regions of the eastern and central states, where steel H-piles extends out of the soil to support the pier cap. During severe ground motions, the overall performance of the bridge will be governed by the local performance of the pile-to-cap beam connection. The scope of work was divided into several tasks as follows: (1) a theory was developed to predict the performance of the connection under lateral loading; (2) an initial experimental program was conducted to investigate the seismic behavior of the steel bents; (3) a retrofit strategy is proposed; (4) a second experimental study was carried out to validate the proposed retrofit method; and (5) fragility curves for such structures were developed. This paper deals with the first two tasks of the study. The other three tasks are the subject of a second companion paper (Shama 2002).

Prosocial education is an educational program to increase motivation and skills of the student to help, care for others in need. This article is aimed at analyzing the implementation of prosocial education in the Kemuhammadiyahan subject. Using experiential learning method, students not only learn about Muhammadiyah from an organizational, historical and ideological perspective, but also experience and practice al-Ma'un theology in carrying out da'wah empowerment of the duafa family. This research design was a descriptive qualitative. The data were collected by making observations during the activity, interview, and documentary studies. Using content analysis, this study found that this da'wah for empowerment of the duafa family was in line with the objectives of prosocial education, namely increasing empathy and concern for the mustad'afin group

Esta pesquisa foi realizada com a participação de cinco enfermeiros assistenciais, em um hospital geral, localizado na região Oeste do Paraná, no período de 14/07 à 03/09 de 1999. Teve como objetivo descrever como enfermeiros assistenciais vivenciam a relação de ajuda terapêutica com o paciente internado em hospital geral, após um programa de educação continuada. Adotou-se como referencial teórico, conceitos de comunicação e relação de ajuda terapêutica. A opção metodológica foi a modalidade convergenteassistencial. Nas reuniões de grupo, para discussão dos conceitos sobre comunicação e relação de ajuda terapêutica, utilizamos um jogo educativo sobre o assunto. A análise dos dados evidenciou a adequação dos referenciais teórico e metodológico com o todo da pesquisa. Podemos concluir que os enfermeiros assistenciais foram capazes de construir conceitos e desenvolveremse no uso da relação de ajuda terapêutica.Help care nurses building the therapeutic relationship in the generalAbstractThis research took place with five nurses’ participation in a general hospital, in the west of Paraná state, from 14/07 to 03/09/1999. It aimed to describe how nurses experience the therapeutic relationship with patients in hospital, after a continuous educational program. Communication and therapeutic relationship concepts were adopted for the theory. The methodology used was the care-convergent . In the meeting of the groups, which aimed discussing the concepts about communication and the therapeutic helpful relationship , we used an educational game about the subject. The data analysis was focused on the agreement of the theoretical and methodological framework with the whole research . We could conclude that nurses were able to build concepts and to improve their therapeutic help relationship.

Постановка задачи. В статье рассматривается проблема проведения объективной процедуры оценивания иноязычной речевой компетенции в техническом вузе на примере контроля результатов обучения иностранному языку студентов-экономистов. Ввиду сложности процедуры оценивания иноязычной речевой компетенции, обусловленной неоднородностью структуры компетенции, необходимостью учета междисциплинарной базы ее формирования, использованием в оценивании количественных и качественных показателей, для реализации данного процесса отдельное внимание должно быть уделено критериальному инструментарию, который бы непосредственно коррелировал и находил своё отражение в содержании образовательной программы, а также подходил для проведения самооценки речевой компетенции испытуемых. Результаты. В статье в системном виде изложены критерии оценивания иноязычной речевой компетенции студентов экономического направления. На основе анализа опыта зарубежных и отечественных ученых, а также в соответствии с содержанием образовательной программы выделены групповые и единичные критерии, образующие критериальный инструментарий для оценивания указанной компетенции. Для объективности оценивания на каждом этапе обучения иностранному языку для групповых и единичных критериев установлены разные значения коэффициентов весомости, выведенные в результате опроса преподавателей Московского политехнического университета. Выводы. Ввиду сложности оценивания иноязычной профессиональной речевой компетенции студентов-экономистов рационально использование принципа критериальности оценивания учебных достижений, позволяющего получить представление об уровне сформированности различных составляющих компетенции, а также принципа воспроизводимости, обеспечивающего равенство оценок разных преподавателей (самооценок обучающихся) по отношению к субъекту оценивания. Problem statement. The article deals with the problem of conducting an objective procedure for assessing foreign language speech competence in a technical University on the example of monitoring the results of teaching a foreign language to students in the field of Economics. Taking into account the complexity of the procedure of assessment of foreign language competence, due to the heterogeneity of the structure of competence, to reflect the multidisciplinary basis of its formation, using in the assessment quantitative and qualitative indicators for the implementation of this process, special attention should be given to the criteria system which shall be directly correlated and are reflected in the content of the educational program and suited for self-assessment of foreign language speech competence. Results. The article presents the criteria for assessing the foreign language speech competence of students of the economic field in a systematic form. Based on the analysis of the experience of foreign and domestic scientists, as well as in accordance with the content of the educational program, group and individual criteria are identified that form a criterion tool for assessment of this competence. For the objectivity of assessment at each stage of learning a foreign language, for group and individual criteria, different values of weight coefficient were determined, derived from a survey of the faculty staff of Moscow Polytechnic University. Findings: Taking into account the complexity of the assessment foreign language speech competence of students in the field of Economics, it’s reasonable to use principle of criteria assessment of educational achievements, allowing to get an idea about the level of development of different components of competence and the principle of reproducibility to ensure equality of ratings by faculty staff (self-assessment of students) in relation to the subject of assessments.
