Application of a Composite Model in the Analysis of Creep Deformation at Low and Intermediate Temperatures

The creep behaviors of TA2 and R60702 at low and intermediate temperature were presented and discussed in this paper. Experimental results indicated that an apparent threshold stress was exhibited in the creep deformation of R60702. Meanwhile, the primary creep phase was found as the main pattern in the room temperature creep behavior of TA2. Compared with the exponential law, the power law has been proved to be a proper constitutive model in the description of primary creep phase. It also showed that θ projection method had its significant advantage in the evaluation of accelerated creep stage. Thus, a composite model which combined power law with θ projection method was applied in the creep curves evaluation at low and intermediate temperature. Based on the multiaxial creep deformation results, the model was modified and discussed. A linear relationship existed between composite model parameters and applied load. Finally, the creep life of TA2 and R60702 could be accurately predicted by the composite model, and it is suitable for the application in low and intermediate temperature creep life analysis.

Creep deformation process of austenitic stainless steel foil with thickness 0.25 mm was investigated. The foil specimen was creep tested at 750oC, 54 MPa to establish baseline behavior for its extended use as primary surface recuperator in advanced microturbine. The creep curve of the foil shows that the primary creep stage is brief and creep life is dominated by tertiary creep deformation. The curve is well represented by the modified theta-projection concept model with hardening and softening terms. Morphology of fractured foil surface reveals intergranular fracture with shallow network of faceted voids. The formation of w-type creep cavities is significant, as revealed by microstructure of ruptured specimen. Composition analysis indicates the formation of carbides, namely, Cr23C6, NbC and Fe3Nb3C.

Taking nickel-based single crystal superalloy DD6 as the research object, different degrees of creep damage were prefabricated by creep interruption tests, and then the creep damage was repaired by the restoration heat treatment system of solid solution heat treatment and two-stage aging heat treatment. The results show that with the creep time increasing, the alloy underwent microstructure evolution including γ′ phase coarsening, N-type rafting and de-rafting. After the restoration heat treatment, the coarse rafted γ′ phase of creep damaged specimens dissolved, precipitated, grew up, and became cubic again. Except for the specimens with creep interruption of 100 h, the γ′ phase can basically achieve the same arrangement as the γ′ phase of the original sample. The comparison of the secondary creep test shows that the steady-state creep stage of the test piece after the restoration heat treatment is relatively increased, and the total creep life can reach the same level as the primary creep life. The high temperature creep properties of the tested alloy are basically recovered, and the restoration heat treatment effect is good.

The cosmological dynamics of a non-locally corrected gravity theory, involving a power of the inverse d’Alembertian, is investigated. Casting the dynamical equations into local form, the fixed points of the models are derived, as well as corresponding de Sitter and power-law solutions. Necessary and sufficient conditions on the model parameters for the existence of de Sitter solutions are obtained. The possible existence of power-law solutions is investigated, and it is proven that models with de Sitter solutions have no power-law solutions. A model is found, which allows to describe the matter-dominated phase of the Universe evolution.

The high temperature creep tests of standard specimen and double U-type notch specimen of T92 steel were carried out under different stresses at 650 °C. Then optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy were used to observe the fracture morphology and microstructure. The results show that the multiaxial stress state leads to the creep fracture cracking initiation in notch. Under multiaxial stress state, the failure mode of T92 steel is transgranular and dimple plastic fracture, and is more obvious with the increase of creep life. Compared with under uniaxial stress state, the precipitates under multiaxial stress state are larger in size and quantity, and are much coarser.
