Infinitely-variable transmissions of high efficiency can be made using non-circular gears combined in function generators. The efficiency of a function generator depends on the gear parameters, the ratio of the differential, and the direction of power flow. The paper shows how the factors influence the total gear meshing losses and explain how efficiency is calculated. No-load losses are not included.

This paper proposes a new control method to regulate the power flow into multiple receivers. This system consists of one transmitter controller and three receiver controllers. They work independently to decide the power distribution with their combined operation. The simulated and experimental models have been built, and the experimental results are in good agreement with the theoretical analysis results. The proposed method is robust, flexible, and generalizable, and can be employed under various wireless charging conditions.

In this paper, we present a synthesis procedure for the coupler link of a planar slider-crank linkage in order to coordinate input by a linear actuator with the rotation of an output crank. This problem can be formulated in a manner similar to the synthesis of a five position RR coupler link. It is well-known that the resulting equations can produce branching solutions that are not useful. This is addressed by introducing tolerances for the input and output values of the specified task function. The proposed synthesis procedure is then executed on two examples. In the first example, a survey of solutions for tolerance zones of increasing size is conducted. In this example we find that a tolerance zone of 5% of the desired full range results in a number of useful task functions and usable slider-crank function generators. To demonstrate the use of these results, we present an example design for the actuator of the shovel of a front-end loader.

This paper is a departure from the usual procedure for obtaining the optimal dimensions of a four bar function generator by iteration. In the usual procedure, the accuracy points are first chosen by means of Chebishev spacing or some other means. Using these accuracy points, a four bar linkage is synthesized and the error calculated. Freudenstein’s respacing formula may then be used to respace the accuracy points so as to minimize the errors. After the respacing of the accuracy points is calculated, a new mechanism is synthesized. The process is repeated until the magnitudes of the extreme errors occurring between accuracy points are equalized. The procedure adopted in this paper is to immediately force the extreme errors between accuracy points to be equal in magnitude by imposing additional constraints upon the problem. These constraints eliminate the arbitrary choice of the first set of accuracy points. This procedure results in a more extensive set of equations to be solved than the conventional method. However, once the equations are solved, they lead directly to equalized (and thus minimized) extrema of the magnitude of structural errors between the precision points. Thus there is no need to perform the iterative steps of conventional optimization. The proposed method is illustrated with an example.

The hydro-mechanical differential turning mechanism is the new type of double power flow turning mechanism of tracked vehicle. The hydraulic stepless speed regulation and the high efficiency of mechanical transmission are integrated into the turning mechanism. The stepless turning of tracked vehicle can be achieved. Basing on hydro-mechanical differential turning theory, the scheme design of steering wheel control system of tracked vehicle of hydro-mechanical differential turning is finished. By establishing model of steering wheel control system, its working stability and following characteristic is simulated and analyzed in this paper. The demand of hydro-mechanical differential turning of tracked vehicle can be realized by the steering wheel control system designed through the simulation results.

Continuously variable transmissions (CVTs) have developed notably in different applications over the past years. This is especially true in the automobile field because of advantages in terms of car handling and efficiency on urban roads. In this work an original functional solution of a power split CVT system is described. The proposed solution allows the generation of a power flow without recirculation. Kinetic characteristics of single-component devices are obtained and the power split CVT system's efficiency is determined by considering how the efficiency of the component devices changes as a function of operating conditions. The advantages for the power split CVT system are therefore shown in terms of power and efficiency in comparison with the single CVT.

<span lang="EN-US">In this paper, a Wavelet modulated isolated two-stage three-phase bidirectional AC-DC converter is proposed for electric vehicle (EV) charging systems. Half-bridge resonant CLLC converter is proposed due to its high efficiency, wide gain range, galvanic isolation and bidirectional power flow. Wavelet modulation technique is used for three-phase six leg AC-DC converter due to its benefits of high DC component and lower harmonic contents. The proposed two-stage converter is developed and simulated in MATLAB Simulink environment. The contribution of this paper is on the implementation and performance analysis of Wavelet modulation in bidirectional AC-DC converters. The results show that Wavelet modulation is suitable to be implemented for the proposed bidirectional converter. The performance of the proposed converter delivers very low output voltage ripple and total harmonic distortion output current of less than 10% which is within the expected results.</span>

This manuscript presents a novel high gain, high efficiency Soft-switching high step-up DC/DC converter for battery-operated vehicles. The high step-up converter can transfer the power flow from the small voltage to high voltage. The conventional two input inductor hard switched non-isolated DC-DC converter improved with an additional auxiliary cell to attain the Zero voltage switching, due to obtaining the softswitching the efficiency may improve and reduces the stress across the main switches. The isolated converters are used as a transformer to attain high gain, whereas in the proposed converter obtains the high gain without a transformer and contains the high efficiency in the step-up mode of operation. The main aim of the converter is to attain the Zero voltage switching without using any additional auxiliary switches. In this paper, the input voltage applied as 30V, and the obtained output voltage is fifteen times to the applied voltage, which is 450V and the output power 850W. This paper mainly presents the theoretical analysis of converter operation and the evaluation of the simulation results validated with the theoretical analysis.

The aim of this research is to model an autonomous control wind turbine driven permanent magnetic synchronous generator (PMSG) which feeds alternating current (AC) power to the utility grid. Furthermore, this research also demonstrates the effects and the efficiency of PMSG wind turbine which is integrated by autonomous controllers. In order for well autonomous control, two voltage source inverters are used to control wind turbine connecting with the grid. The generator-side inverter is used to adjust the synchronous generator as well as separating the generator from the grid when necessary. The grid-side inverter controls the power flow between the direct current (DC) bus and the AC side. Both of them are oriented control by space vector pulse width modulation (PWM) with back-to-back frequency inverter. Moreover, the proportional-integral (PI) controller is enhanced to control both of the inverters and the pitch angle of the wind turbine. Maximum power point tracking (MPPT) is integrated in generator-side inverter to track the maximum power, when wind speed changes. The simulation results in Matlab Simulink 2012b showing the model have good dynamic and static performance. The maximum power can be tracked and the generator wind turbine can be operated with high efficiency.
