Welding, like other major manufacturing processes such as casting, metal forming, and material removal, has its roots in ancient times, though not necessarily in the various forms as we know them today. It therefore has a long history, with thousands of articles having been published on various aspects of the welding process over the years. However, there have been periodic reviews of the literature in the past, that summarize significant developments in the field. Thus, due to constraints on page limit, and to avoid unnecessary repetition of what is already well reviewed in the literature, this article will reference the key literature reviews on the subject, providing brief summaries where appropriate. The bulk of the article will then be devoted to more recent developments in the field. Due to the breadth of material to be covered, this review is designed to be more of a summary of key developments rather than a critique of a specific field.

Despite its architectural fame, the medieval city of Ani in eastern Turkey, once an Armenian capital on the Silk Road, was endangered until recently. Preserving the Medieval City of Ani: Cultural Heritage between Contest and Reconciliation traces the evolution of Ani since the late nineteenth century as an object of preservation and the subject of debate about heritage. As a primarily non-Muslim site in a modern, majority-Muslim country, Ani poses dilemmas shared by other cultural heritage sites in postconflict societies: it presents economic opportunity through tourism, but its history prompts questions about a painful recent past the state refuses to acknowledge. Analyzing the recent developments in cultural heritage management in Turkey involving international heritage organizations, especially for Christian and Armenian monuments, and highlighting the civil society debate about rediscovering long-suppressed episodes of Turkish history, Heghnar Zeitlian Watenpaugh argues that despite daunting difficulties beleaguering acknowledgment of the past, cultural heritage can provide a medium for reconciliation rather than contestation.

Objective: To present an overview of import need for wound care and burn dressings in India. This article provides a complete analysis of the import-export value of wound care and burn dressings in India. It helps in preparing growth strategies, knowledge about leading players, recent developments, business strategies, and manufacturing status of the wound care and burn dressings in India. Methodology: A trend analysis of import-export was carried out for wound and burn dressings in India. Raw data of the years (2008-2017) were collected from various market research analysis sites and import need was identified. Results and Discussion: The detailed analysis reveals that India is a growing market for wound and burn dressings and spends a lot of the exchequer on importing the subject commodity. Wound dressing export is averaged to the same from 2013 to 2017. India saw a rise in wound dressing export after 2012. India saw a rise of wound dressing import over the past 10 years. It averaged 502.6 million from 2008 to 2017 and it reached its all-time high of 765 million in 2016. The import value was found quite high as compared to export. Conclusion: The report of import and export analysis very clearly highlights that there is a strong demand for dressings in the country and due to lack of own manufacturers of such dressing in India, these are imported. Since these products are expensive, there is a large outflow of Indian currency due to imports. It is imperative that such products get government attention and should be manufactured within the country.

Electroplastic manufacturing processing (EPMP) is a relatively new metal-forming process that is energy efficient, environmentally friendly, and versatile. In particular, it can be used to manufacture metals or alloys that are difficult to process by conventional manufacturing protocols. There have been significant advances in EPMP in the past decade, and this review summarizes our current state of understanding and describes recent developments in EPMP. Particular emphasis is placed on describing the mechanisms responsible for the electroplastic effect and microstructure evolution as well as major advances in EPMP of metals. Challenges facing theoretical and experimental investigations are also discussed.

Ondel-ondel is a cultural performance of the Betawi people passed down from generation to generation. However, the problem that occurs is that along with the development of the era, ondel-ondel is no longer a sacred object and is no longer used for ritual offerings and the loss of cultural values of the ancestors. The purpose of making this journal is to find out the shift in the meaning of the ondel-ondel cultural myth to the beliefs of the people of Jakarta. The method used in this study uses a qualitative approach and data collection techniques use interview techniques, observation and analysis of various journals or literature studies. The subject of this research was conducted on 4 people, namely a number of the Jakarta community about their views on the shift in the meaning of the myth of ondel-ondel art. In this day and age, ondel-ondel shows are very easy to find, especially on roadside areas in Jakarta. Unlike the old days, ondel-ondel was only displayed when there were certain events such as a traditional Betawi wedding. The result of this research is that there are differences and shifts in the meaning of ondel-ondel cultural myths. In ancient times ondel-ondel was only displayed during certain events. And people in ancient times tend to still believe in the existing ondel-ondel cultural myths. Unlike the current era, ondel-ondel is used as a means of getting money. The benefit of this research is to find out what values have been lost from previous cultures and be able to take good positive values taught in previous cultures without taking the negative values found in the past culture. It is enough to make historical knowledge to remember existing history. This study concludes that there has been a shift in meaning in the myth of ondel-ondel culture and sadly it occurs due to the pressure of economic factors.

Abstract Tribology in manufacturing has seen tremendous development in the past 100 years and essentially was transformed from a known and unavoidable nuisance to a sophisticated discipline. This is demonstrated by the reliability and quality of products that result in modern metal forming and cutting. This paper provides a brief summary of the state-of-the-art in manufacturing tribology, discussing some of the important developments in the field.

Relatively little has been added in the past two or three years to the discussion of Catholic intellectual life in the United States which reached a climax following the publication of Msgr. John Tracy Ellis's essay on the subject in 1955. No doubt one reason is that the subject appeared to be very nearly exhausted—or at least the reader of Catholic journals was faced with exhaustion if he tried to keep abreast of the discussion. A volume of readings entitled American Catholicism and the Intellectual Ideal contains excerpts from forty-six books and articles published in the years 1955–1958 alone. Interest flagged somewhat in the early 1960's, but two recent developments may serve to quicken it: one is the publication of Richard Hofstadter's general study, Anti-intellectualism in American Life, which includes a brief treatment of the Catholic aspects of anti-intellectualism; the other is the publication by Reverend Andrew M. Greeley of the results of a survey of the academic experience and career plans of 35,000 college graduates of the class of 1961.

The idea of decoupling a structure from its foundation dated back to 1870 has now been worldwide accepted as a powerful tool to protect structures from earthquake damage. This paper is intended to review the developmental history of concept in seismic isolation devices rather than its applications in engineering. The literature review of more recent developments in seismic isolation is as complete as possible, but there may be considerable degree of omission in the later years because of the page limit and the rapid increase in research interest in this topic in the past years.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is still a developing domain both in study and practice surrounded by a lot of confusion as many authors have previously shown despite the considerable broad spectrum of approaches. Starting with the Ancient times and until nowadays, the notion has displayed sometimes chameleonic features and there are still discussions regarding a consensus on the topic. While the CSR concept can be traced back to Ancient times and contoured in the 1950’s, the Corporate Sustainability (CS) concept can only be traced to the late 1980s when the concept of sustainable development (SD) was gaining momentum, as research conducted in the field has shown. Both CSR and corporate sustainability (CS) concepts have been in the spotlight in the last two decades and some researchers even use the terms interchangeably while others argue that the terms are different: similar, but not the same. Other authors dispute that each concept has a different origin that unravels a distinct pathway but they have both focalized on the same spot, using similar definitions, assumptions, same networks and measurement. More recent research suggests that CSR should be regarded and integrated as a component of CS strategy either as a transitional step or the final one for the business rather than keeping the two concepts on different pathways. Even though the concepts are brought lately more together, the common theoretical aspects need more attention and a thorough discussion, some authors argue. Therefore, this research proposes a bibliometric analysis of the existing literature on CSR and CS during the past three decades since the globalisation of the terms. The approach of this study is comparative, seeking to picture the evolution of the global interest on the subject compared to the focus of the Romanian research regarding CSR and CS and SD.

International state responsibility is one of the most attractive and most important and, at the same time, the most complex area of international law, and its precise explanation, as well as its commitment, plays a great role in the development of international law enforcement. Today, climate change is one of the common and significant concerns of the international community. Despite the sensitivity and importance of the issue, there has been no significant correlation to solve this problem. With regard to the international law approach, this study seeks to use the subject of international responsibility as an effective mechanism for combating climate change. Moreover, it tries to address Kyoto Protocol and the Paris Consensus in addition to brief look at the past, focusing on recent developments on climate change, and relying on the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in order to summarize the latest achievements of international law in this field. Besides, it also discusses the effective liability of the states that can prevent and compensate for these changes.

Its been long recognized that various economies of the world are interlinked through international trade. The experience of the past several years, however, has demonstrated that this economic interdependence is far greater than was previously realized. In this context, the importance of international economic theory as an area distinct from general economics hardly needs any mentioning. What gives international economic theory this distinction is international markets for some goods and effects of national sovereignty on the character of economic activity. Wilfred Ethier's book, which incorporates recent developments in the field, is an excellent addition to textbooks on international economics for one- or twosemester undergraduate courses. The book mostly covers standard topics. A distinguishing feature of this book is its detailed analysis of the flexible exchange rates and a discussion of the various approaches used for their determination. Within each chapter, the author has extensively used facts, figures and major events to clarify the concepts in the light of the theoretical framework. The book also discusses, in a fair amount of detail, the existing international monetary system and the role of various international organizations.
