Software architectures for knowledge-based engineering often separate applications from their knowledge sources. We propose elements for a new standard for the resulting interface. The fully automatic transfer of knowledge would require a shared engineering ontology. We suggest something less ambitious, namely to make only part of the knowledge machine-intelligible, such as a number embedded in a rule. This proposal still requires a human to code the knowledge from the source into the application. However, it would allow the application to automatically handle some updates to the knowledge sources. We discuss the details of a formalism to describe the machine-intelligible part of the knowledge; we suggest some meta-data; and we clarify the relationship of the proposal to existing standards.

Performance is determined by a system's resources and its workload. Some of the resources are software resources which are an aspect of the software architecture; some of them are even created by the software behaviour. This paper describes software resources and resource architecture, and shows how resource architecture can be determined from software architecture and behaviour. The resource architecture is distinct from views of software architecture which describe software components, but it is related to the so-called "execution view" of architecture. The paper considers how resource architecture emerges during design, the relationship of software and hardware resources, some classes of resource architecture, and what they can tell us about system performance. Other uses of resource architecture are, to analyze deadlocks, to understand special software architectures developed for demanding situations, and to analyze how subsystems fit together when they share resources. Resource architecture can be described using description languages (ADLs) developed for software architecture.

ABSTRACT Background  The Family Medicine (FM) Milestones are competency-based assessments of residents in key dimensions relevant to practice in the specialty. Residency programs use the milestones in semiannual reviews of resident performance from the time of entry into the program to graduation. Objective  Using a national sample, we investigated the relationship of FM competency-based assessments to resident progress and the complementarity of milestones with knowledge-based assessments in FM residencies. Methods  We used midyear and end-of-year milestone ratings for all FM residents in Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education–accredited programs during academic years 2014–2015 and 2015–2016. The milestones contain 22 items across 6 competencies. We created a summative index across the milestones. The American Board of Family Medicine database provided resident demographics and in-training examination (ITE) scores. We linked information to the milestone data. Results  The sample encompassed 6630 FM residents. The summative milestone index increased, on average, for each cohort (postgraduate year 1 [PGY-1] to PGY-2 and PGY-2 to PGY-3) at each assessment. The correlation between the milestone index that excluded the medical knowledge milestone and ITE scores was r = .195 (P < .001) for PGY-1 to PGY-2 cohort and r = .254 (P < .001) for PGY-2 to PGY-3 cohort. For both cohorts, ITE scores and composite milestone assessments were higher for residents who advanced than for those who did not. Conclusions  Competency-based assessment using the milestones for FM residents seems to be a viable multidimensional tool to assess the successful progression of residents.

Companies that can survive are companies that need to quickly change its strategy from a business based on labor towards knowledge-based business, so that the main characteristics of the company are changed towards a science-based company. This study examines the relationship of value added capital employed, value-added human capital, structural capital value added and financial performance. The method of this research is purposive sampling with a total of 34 samples analyzed by using Eviews version 9. The result stated that value added capital employed has no effect on return on asset, value added human capital has an effect on return on asset, structural capital value added has an effect on return on asset.

It has recently become very popular among academics to study the process of knowledge transfer within their own organization, with the aim of improving their innovation and performance on a general scope. Knowledge can be divided into two main groups: “explicit” and “tacit” knowledge. The main interest lies in tacit knowledge, since it is one that includes the specific “know-how” of an organization. The cooperation between the different units of an organization promotes the transfer of knowledge between the different organizational areas and positions the departments in an ideal situation to promote innovation. To understand the evolution of the scientific production in terms of innovation and knowledge up until now, the authors conducted a bibliometric analysis of research on this topic collected on the Web of Science. The results show a growing interest in the relationship of both topics due to the fact that the number of publications is an upward trend.

The concept of intellectual capital (IC) was introduced by Leif Edvinsson in 1997 in the long Planning journal. 2019 marks since 22 years from that article. This centenary has motivated us to review the literature on the IC for highlighting the various research questions that relates to current marketing research. Hence, after reviewing the literature on IC, it has shown that IC is considered a knowledge based and an important resource to improve the organizational business performance (BP). In the extensive literature, the researchers have argued that as a knowledge base resource it carries out more than 75 percent worth of the organization and also determine the success of the today’s business. The relationship between IC, board characteristics (BC) and BP has been review in detail. In line with this, intellectual capital and board characteristics are considered essential to improve performance and success of the organization but there still there is no clear relationship among them and also a lack of studies in the context of developing countries. Hence, after reviewing the several studies, the following knowledge gaps in the existing studies have been found. Therefore, much remains to understood regarding the way of approaching and conceptualizing both, IC, BC with the BP in another way to see the clear relationship among them.

The article deals with the problem of interrelation of linguistic base of development of native and foreign speech activity of schoolchildren and students. The authors identify the actual difficulties experienced by Chinese students in mastering the Russian language at an advanced stage in the University, and justify the assumption that one of the reasons for difficulties in the creation of a complete text is in the margin of the linguistic base (insufficient information about the text) development of native language activity in the school to the needs of foreign language teaching at the University . In search of the reason, the authors carry out a comparative analysis of school programs in the native language of the two countries - Ukraine and China – and provide an opportunity for the pedagogical community to get acquainted with the content of training on the development of speech activity, with the structure of programs in order to understand and choose a more effective way of building the program and filling it with the necessary content from the field of linguistics of the text. This information, according to scientists, is the basis for the development of both native and foreign speech. Strengthening the school base for the development of a speech activity in the field of the native language will contribute to the transfer of knowledge and skills from the field of the native language to the field of foreign language and, thus, overcome the difficulties in mastering the ability to create a complete text in a foreign language, since the laws of construction of the text are similar in different languages. The continuity of knowledge between the links of the educational system in this aspect is an important condition for the effectiveness of mastering communicative competence, and its observance is the care of the compilers of programs and textbooks.

Measurement of intellectual capital is fundamentally crucial for companies. It enables managers to allocate economic resources to improve knowledge assets in order to support a sustainable competitive advantage for the companies. This study presents a method of residual income model (RIM) to measure intellectual capital (IC). This method quantitatively assesses intellectual capital using knowledge-based view perspective. Purpose of the study is to examine the relationship of intellectual capital with company financial performance empirically. This study uses panel data regression with research objects listed in the Jakarta Islamic Index from 2014to 2017. The results of this study indicate that intellectual capital does not affect the company's financial performance

CV. MITRA JAYA PERKASA is a company engaged in CCTV installation services where demand for CCTV installation is one of the important factors. Therefore it is very important to know the cctv installation request pattern so that it can adjust to the warehouse stock and the cctv goods linkage. With the help of computers can be used as a solution to the problem, where by building a data mining system which is a knowledge-based computer program that provides solutions to problems and get information from large data warehouses. In this case the company can analyze the cctv installation request pattern using the market basket analysis method. It is expected that this data mining can provide information on the cctv installation request pattern and adjust the warehouse stock. The results of this study are an application that can help analyze the cctv installation request patterns and analyze the relationship of goods using the market basket analysis method. Keywords: Data Mining, Market Basket Analysis, cctv installation request patterns.
